Duke Hesman entered Prince Cassian’s Palace with unstoppable steps.

He walked, recalling the reports of the three men he had planted.

‘Sheria will come back soon.’

Reports from the spies planted at the competition, reports from the men for the collaboration, and lastly…

‘Meldenique Vaveloa is preparing for a business.’

The Duke recalled the report sent by the three men dispatched to watch Meldenique.

‘Where did you lure a stupid man and start a small shop.’

He recalled the gloomy eyes of the three men who reported the information.

It seemed as if their pupils were empty.

However, the three men were brainwashed by him and planted in Meldenique’s vicinity. They cannot lie.

‘Meldenique, your rebellion is extraordinary.’

He grinned.

‘If you don’t agree with me, you’re a fool.’

The breakup Meldenique Vaveloa sent was long forgotten in his mind.

Since when had that woman ever done something right?

He was wondering how shameless she would be. How good would she be able to run her business after saying such harsh words to him.

As expected, it was Meldenique Vaveloa.

‘So obvious and boring. You’ll just try a new business and then fail again.’

A woman who was always pathetic.

However, she’s a useful pen, so she’ll be treated like a valuable tool before marriage.

‘If you talk about a breakup or whatever in the future, I’ll have to kill you properly.’

Lenox snorted as he entered the drawing room.

“It’s been a while, Cassian.”

“It has.”

Duke Hesman, sitting across from Prince Cassian and crossing his legs arrogantly, thought, ‘It’s annoying to get accreditation one by one.’

But justification was always important.

He had to explain his plans for the new business to Cassian, the second prince who was in charge of the royal family’s financial affairs.

The new project was all the more meaningful because it will be down in collaboration between Duke Hesman and Duke Vaveloa.

The society of adults was conquered without difficulty.

Most of the noble families bought things from either Hesman or Vaveloa.

Now their target was not adults.

It was children and adolescents who would be potential family customers for more than 50 years in the family business, and an increasing number of elderly people.

Negotiations between Duke Hesman and Duke Vaveloa had already been concluded, and the prototype development was in its final stages.

Soon, the project will be approved by the royal court and a spectacular launching party was being planned.

Just as his life was an undefeated march, there won’t be a failure this time either.

“Lenox.”

“Yes.”

“I checked the business plan you submitted to the palace in advance.”

Cassian fixed his gaze to look at Duke Hesman sitting across from him.

‘Did he say he’s doing a business targeting people of a certain age?’

But he was following the old methods.

It planned to pour in initial capital and push it to extremes, and play chicken games with other businesses and small shops.

It also said they’ll spend a lot of money to promote chicken games to win.

In other words, a way of making a trend.

Was there any place in the Empire that will have the talent to undertake his capitalist business?

Of course there wasn’t.

Cassian, who was reading the business plan, swept his silver hair and spoke, “Show me the prototype.”

Proudness hung over the confident face of Duke Hesman.

He took out a small perfume and fountain pen from his inner pocket.

Cassian was admiring the fountain pen left by Duke Hesman on the table.

“A perfume fountain pen?”

The fountain pen’s body was carved gracefully and delicately.

At the center, there was a heal-like sculpture of an angel. Without Duke Hesman, the fountain pen wouldn’t have been able to be crafted so delicately.

“It’s a work of art in itself. Unlike ordinary fountain pens, there are diamonds are embedded everywhere.”

Cassian whispered as he looked at the fountain pen.

“Isn’t it uncomfortable for kids to use? It’ll create calluses.”

“That’s about it.”

“I don’t think it’ll have a good effect. It’s excessive.”

Duke Hesman laughed languidly.

“Good effect? Why does that matter?”

“…”

“Invest. Success in our business is guaranteed. Kids always follow their elders, don’t they? And they don’t have the money anyway. The real target is their parents. And they’re our top loyal customers.”

If you think about money, it’s not wrong.

Prince Cassian blue eyes look down at the fountain pen.

However, was this fountain pen harmless to children? The fountain pen with jewels in the little hands will be quite uncomfortable.

Cassian, who was looking at Lenox’s arrogant attitude, touched his chin indifferently.

Duke Hesman did not mind and spoke again, “And this time, I’ll be working with the Vaveloa family. In particular, I will be working with Mrs. Hildegart and Lady Sheria.”

Hildegart took on the role of funding, and Sheria went directly into the business with him.

She had been on a business trip to the Holy Land for a while in line with her new business plan.

‘It seems like she was enjoying a vacation at the same time.’

Duke Hesman smiled softly, recalling his lover’s happy days.

Cassian, who was watching him, rubbed his temples hard.

“Yes… It’s a collaboration between the Vaveloa family and the Hesman family, so it won’t fail.”

However, it felt like something was left in his mouth like sand.

Cassian was aware of the scandal between his friend, the Duke, and Lady Sheria, which had been crushed in the social world.

Everyone praised their beautiful love story. They were so well-arched business partners, which were also the object of praise in society.

But Cassian’s thoughts right now were a bit different.

“I have something I want to ask. Is Lady Sheria simply your business partner, or are you planning to marry her?”

Duke Hesman’s eyes folded.

“My marriage partner right now is Meldenique Vaveloa.”

Cassian raised one eyebrow at the words that were spit out like knives.

“Then you’d better stay away from Lady Sheria.”

“…What does that mean?”

“Your fiancée is Lady Meldenique. It’s rude to both of them.”

Duke Hesman’s complexion hardened, as if his privacy had been invaded.

But Cassian’s tone was firm. In any case, the Duke’s lady was Meldenique. The nature of their relationship was ‘engaged.’

“Because of your actions, society is already predicting your breakup with Lady Meldenique.”

“Is that so. It must be because her behavior is bizarre.”

Duke Hesman frowned as he recalled her, who had left after shouting at him to get lost from her life

His indifferent expression raised Cassian’s eyebrows.

“If you’re in a relationship to get married, shouldn’t you keep Lady Meldenique’s honor?” (T/N: YES SIR)

Prince Cassian also heard of Meldenique Vaveloa’s strange behavior.

But there was something he had to get down.

“If you really want to make Lady Meldenique as the Duchess, that means you should treat her like a companion.”

He wasn’t particularly interested in Meldenique. But it wasn’t that he wasn’t, so those were the right words.

Duke Hesman squinted at Cassian’s words.

“It’s a family affair, so you don’t need to concern yourself with it.”

No one knew about Meldenique Vaveloa’s defeats or misdeeds.

She even tried to kill her sister, Lady Sheria. There’s no reason to respect such a woman.

‘And you told me to get lost.’

Duke Hesman chewed the flesh inside his mouth.

He just wanted to use Meldenique because his father gave him the order.

But why was the woman, who had acted well according to his will so far, doing this? He was going to use her properly and then throw her away.

“In comparison to what she does, she’s still being human enough.”

Cassian stared at the frown on Duke Hesman’s face.

“I don’t think it’s possible for the Palace to invest.”

Lenox laughed lowly as if he had not even expected it.

“Well… I understand because the Imperial family doesn’t really get involved in big businesses.”

At Cassian’s words, Duke Hesman nodded his head with an expression of no regret.

“However, it’s a shame to kick away a chance that will benefit the palace’s budget.”

Duke Hesman’s work made the Empire stronger and could help all the commoners. He was willing to invest as much as he could.

But Duke Hesman always worked only for the revival of the duchy and himself.

“…The Hesman business is taking over most of the streets in the capital, and the closure rate of self-employed people is increasing. There’s no reason for the royal family to go along with it.”

“Wouldn’t it be better to be enslaved by my family than to be the owner of a shoddy business anyway?”

“…”

“You should know, the weak lose.”

How should I answer.

Cassian’s temples were sizzling.

He couldn’t figure out how to persuade Duke Hesman.

It seemed like their relationship, that maintained a friendly one on the outside, was cracking. The more they talked, the more fatigue was accumulated.

Lenox replied, changing his expression neatly.

“…well, yes. I guess the conclusion is that you can’t invest.”

“Yes.”

“Then, I’ll leave.”

Axion’s words came to his mind when he saw Duke Hesman’s confident back.

“Mel wants every child to be happy!”

It was neither common sense nor vain to wish for the happiness of all children.

In Cassian’s experience, people who made overly idealistic arguments were usually more likely to be con artists.

“She said that’s why she’s at the front of the Academy!”

But Axion’s clear voice and happy-looking face kept coming to mind.

It felt like a bell was ringing in his ear when he heard that she’s at the front of the Academy for the happiness of all children.

Prince Cassian mumbled low, folding the business plan Duke Hesman prepared, “Rather, idealists are better.”

Of course, idealists, like the owner of the ‘Mel’s Stationary Store,’ were often frustrated by the bitter taste of reality.

Like Duke Hesman, aristocrats who used others as a means of making money would win the final battle.

He took a sip of the slushy that was still on the table. The first initial cold taste and sweet ending taste lingered in his mouth.

‘A stationary store for the happiness of all children.’

He felt quite sentimental.

It was because the slushy reminded him of the cold, sweet snacks he used to eat when he was young.

As he recalled the past when his brothers were alive, he rubbed his dry face.

It was now time to return back to reality.
