The Sadist Self-Realization (Two)

Xu Ankang had been dreaming for a full ten days; he was no longer willing to recall the content of the dream. Those pain and despair seemed so real as though it had infected his soul, he became listless during the day and did not dare to sleep at night.

Xu Ankang wasn’t alone in this situation.

There were many sufferers like Xu Ankang in his QQ instant messenger group. They were also having dreams as horrible as Xu Ankang’s.

In the dream, they became the small animals that were tortured and killed by themselves. Then, still in the dream, they saw their past selves use the cruelest torture to slowly murder themselves.

Xu Ankang once dissected a kitten alive. At the time he felt very excited and very happy, but one day, he couldn’t stay awake and dizzily fell asleep, he had a dream. Only then did he understand what it meant by ‘when Heaven sent down calamities, it was still possible to escape from them; when we caused the calamities ourselves, it was not possible anymore to live’[1].

[1] reap what you sowed, to bear the disastrous consequences of one’s own misdeeds

These dreams felt so real that Xu Ankang even thought that it was reality. After waking up, he developed an indescribable disgust and hatred for the cruel self in his dream, so that he smashed all the mirrors in his home and then curled up in the corner like a poor little animal.

However they looked around, this kind of thing was beyond science. Some powerful people in the group began to try to seek the help of others. A lady that Xu Ankang knew had invited a senior monk to the house to find out the reason for the nightmare.

Although the monk was invited, the nightmares still continued. Soon there were people with mental problems. They posted on the Internet in tears, telling everything they had done, hoping to get everyone’s forgiveness.

As the despair spread, a post appeared in a hidden forum frequented by Xu Ankang, with the title in seven large, blood-red letters, “Do you understand what you did wrong?”

But the content of the post was just one sentence: “Hee hee hee hee, do you know your mistake?”

At first, no one replied to this post  at all. but the strange thing is that the post did not sink. Not only did it not sink, the post remained visible in the most eye-catching position of the homepage, with the brightest red font.

Some people began to insult in this post, but those abusive messages were quickly deleted.

Xu Ankang’s eyes lit up when he looked at this post. He immediately called a friend of the group and asked if he could find out the IP address of this post. The friend agreed. He was also troubled by dreams recently. After listening to Xu Ankang’s simple description, he felt that this post could become a breakthrough for them.

However, it didn’t take long for Xu Ankang to receive a phone call from his friend. On the other end of the line, Xu Ankang’s friend’s voice was trembling badly. He said, “An, Ankang, what if the one who is screwing us is really not human?”

Hearing this, Xu Ankang was stunned, his pale face showing disbelief: “What did you find out?”

His friend hissed: “The IP address of this post … is my IP …”

Xu Ankang gripped the phone silly. He looked at the post with a red font, and suddenly burst into tears.

Ji Chenai had used ‘The Sadist Self-Realization’ several times. He had used it in all animal abuse posts that he could see. The most interesting thing was that he found a post that had been floating in the largest forum in China for several years – this post exposed some contents of “taking bear gall alive”, which also aroused the anger of the vast number of netizens at that time.

It’s a pity that when the commoners got angry, they couldn’t do anything but take off their hats, go bare feet, and slam their heads to the ground [2]. Although the manufacturers who had used this method apologized to the public, their products were selling better and better – because most of the people who had bought the medicine felt that the company used fresh bear galls, so the quality must be very good.

[2] pretty much means they can’t do anything about it; helpless

Ji Chenai happily used his skill and Xiao Qi’s post was filled with peoples’ confessions in a short time.

At the beginning, only a few people dreamt, but as the range of skills used by Ji Chen’ai expanded, the number of people involved has also increased. Those who watched and gloated from the side became one of the dreamers, the fear in them was not in the least lesser than those who started dreaming before them.

The number of people dreaming was increasing. Just when these people were about to lose it, a girl in the forum suddenly posted a post. In her post, she described her own affairs in detail and said that she had no more nightmares.

According to this girl’s description, she had just entered this circle, and she abused a small number of animals. At this moment, she really regretted what she had done. Just from her words, one could understand her intense emotions – she really regretted it.

As soon as this post was published, it could be regarded as a theoretical breakthrough for this situation. After the constant exploration, soon some people posted a post claiming that they had found a solution.

Xu Ankang opened the post to have a look and found the method mentioned in it… was forbearance. After you dreamt all of the animals you had abused before, it would be over.

But, was it really that simple?  Xu Ankang hopelessly laughed ……the animals he had abused, although the number might not be a thousand, it could reach a few hundred.

Ji Chen’ai naturally saw this post. In fact, he had doubts about how the punishment would end. Facing Ji Chenai’s doubts, Xiao Qi said frankly: “Originally, the way for it to end was another way, but I modified it slightly…”

Ji Chen’ai asked Xiao Qi how it had revised it.

“Make you earn 100 positive energy points and it will be over.” answered Xiao Qi.

Ji Chen’ai was speechless, he knew that the energy value he can get after changing a person’s fate was 100 points, Xiao Qi’s request this time was really high enough. Xiao Qi saw Ji Chen’ai’s thoughts and explained, “Actually, if they truly repent and feel that what they did was wrong, then it can be regarded as a hundred points.”

Ji Chen’ai was not in the mood to study what so called ‘true repent’-thingy. Now that he had this skill, even if he doesn’t pick up garbage and post posts every day, more than 50 points would be recorded in his account. In this way, if he worked hard, it would be only one or two months before he reached the first level.

However, judging by the positive energy values needed to reach the next stage, it seemed that Xiao Qi was not joking that Ji Chen’ai couldn’t reach level 5 unless he saved the world.

After a week of Ji Chenai staying at home, he received a short message from Zhou Yaoyun. In the message, Zhou Yaoyun sounded aggrieved, “Brother, I miss you so much. You don’t even contact me, the people here are always bullying me.”

As soon as he heard that someone was bullying Zhou Yaoyun, Ji Chenai immediately became concerned, “What happened? Who is bullying you?”

Zhou Yaoyun said, “A very, very bad person.” Then he sent a picture of his arm covered in bruises.

Ji Chenai also felt pain when he saw the picture, but it wasn’t easy for him to ask about Zhou Yaoyun’s family affairs, so he told him quite a few jokes and told Zhou Yaoyun if he couldn’t do it, just come back home.

“How can I do that? If  I can’t stand this hardship, how can I protect my brother…” replied Zhou Yaoyun.

Ji Chenai sighed. He wanted to tell Zhou Yaoyun that he didn’t need protection, but in the end he didn’t say anything.

Zhou Yaoyun continued, “It’s not convenient for me to make a phone call, brother. I’ll send you an email in the future. You should remember to check it.”

Ji Chenai hummed.

The weather here was hotter than his previous house which was near to Zhou Yaoyun’s school. Although it was already autumn, the temperature did not decrease much compared to summer.

Ji Chenai wanted to walk as soon as possible but he didn’t want to lose his life for it.  So on the hottest days, he stayed at home, eating popsicles and watching TV.

In a month’s time, Ji Chenai has earned close to 2000 positive energies. If this continued, according to Xiao Qi, he would be able to walk around on his own with a crutch by next month.

The anti pet abuse incident caused by Ji Chenai had caused a lot of trouble this time. Not to mention that all the people in their circles knew it, even some people outside this hobbyist group had found traces.

In this incident, the hobby group was hit by a near devastating blow that almost destroyed them. Ji Chenai even saw someone say it was too much to bear and wanted to commit suicide.

For this kind of person, Ji Chenai didn’t have any kind of sympathy. Because Xiao Qi clearly said that as long as these people really have a heart of repentance and feel that their behavior was wrong, they would be free from the nightmare. These people who were harassed by the nightmare and close to despair obviously did not feel that they were wrong.

Since they didn’t realize that they were wrong, then they would suffer to death. Ji Chen’ai threw the popsicle in his hand into the garbage can, yawned and opened the post sent by Xiao Qi.

This post had been pinned by the moderator. Countless people wanted to find the mastermind through this post. Whenever these people checked the IP, no matter how advanced technology was used, the final IP address found belonged to them.

Just like this,  this post was almost deified.

Within a short month, there were close to more than 5,000 pages of replies, and still increasing. At first, some people thought that the moderator was playing tricks and they were very disapproving of it. But with the passage of time, the post’s replies were almost all confessions. Ji Chenai read a bit and he found that some people actually wrote several tens of thousands of words…

After reading it, Xiao Qi also clicked its tongue in wonder: “It was so simple. Why did it get so complicated?” As long as they sincerely admitted their mistakes, they could stop having nightmares. However, these people were a bit reluctant to change.

“Probably because humans’ brains are unpredictable. No one knows what they are thinking.” answered Ji Chenai lazily.

So they preferred to do the more superficial work of telling others that they really had repented, rather than to reflect on what they actually did wrong.

Unfortunately, in this world, there was a system named  Xiao Qi, which not only knew the hearts of people, but also touched upon such things that should be mysterious and unpredictable.

So those who were not only deceiving themselves, but also trying to deceive others were exposed to the sun.

“You humans are really strange creatures.”
