Princess DanYang was sipping tea while seated in the main hall. Wearing lavish clothes, her flowing red dress fell to the sides of the chair.
Her embroidered shoes were hidden below said dress, and she sat there with a reserved and noble air.
She was Eastern Ling’s princess and the only one born from the empress.
But it was only after hearing the news from the second prince that she realized what sort of pride and what sort of nobility she should have as the princess born of the empress.
Taking a sip of tea, she slowly loosened the grip of her smooth and pale fingers and gracefully rested her hands on her knees.

Gu ShuBai hesitated for a moment before turning sideways and giving way, “It’s in the backyard. Princess, this way.”
The two walked toward the backyard, with Princess DanYang walking in the front and Gu ShuBai staying three steps behind her.
She tried many times to slow her pace, but Gu ShuBai would also slow his pace. It seemed that he had no intention of getting close to her.
She was becoming quite disheartened, but she completely forgot all about this when she saw the greenhouse.
The entire greenhouse was made of wood and was extremely large. Walking in, it was like setting foot in a sea of flowers, as there were many flowers already blooming.
The warm and humid air gave it a spring-like feeling. As people walked around inside, they would feel the warmth of spring surrounding them.
She could not stop herself from looking up. It turned out that this greenhouse was not just warm at ground level, as there were lamps hanging up above.
Those lamps were very large. Who knew what sort of exquisite work was done such that they shone in a way that mimicked the sun.
It was a sight to behold.
“Uncle Gu is someone with a military background and has always lived a simple life with little extravagance. It’s truly hard to imagine that he would devote so much manpower and money on cultivating flowers.”
As Princess DanYang spoke, she reached out a hand to gently touch a bunch of tender yellow peonies, a smile appearing on her face.
Since time immemorial, warriors have liked swords, and beauties have liked flowers. Princess DanYang was no different.
Gu ShuBai said: “If this was in the past, father naturally would not do this sort of thing. But ever since the arrival of Yu Fu, he started doing all of this. His Majesty rewards Marquis Gu’s Manor year after year, and that silver finally had a place to be spent.”
Her hand froze in mid-air. Thinking of how she could only see this sea of flowers thanks to Yu Fu, she momentarily pulled her hand back.
No matter how she looked, that bunch of peonies was no longer beautiful.
“Uncle Gu really dotes on Yu Fu. Being doted on as a young miss of Marquis Gu’s Manor for a lifetime, how nice is that? If Yu Fu ends up as eldest young sir’s wife, she will also become the marquis’ wife. Would that not be hard on her?”

In the future, she will not be able to provide Marquis Gu’s Manor with any assistance. If anything were to happen to Marquis Gu’s Manor, she would not have any family to support her. The corners of Gu ShuBai’s mouth twitched, “How does Yu Fu not have any support? My Marquis Gu’s Manor is her support. This support, does princess feel that it is insufficient?”
