Not long after the Mid-Autumn Festival, a letter came from JinLing saying that Gu ShuBai and his brothers’ aunt, Madam Su, would be returning to the capital to visit the family.
This Madam Su was the one whose birthday Gu ShuBai had gone to celebrate when Yu Fu first arrived in the capital.
“Eldest sister heard that His Majesty wanted to talk about your marriages, thus she could not hold back and said that she would bring that YunYan girl to come and take a look for you.”
He said you guys, but he was looking at Gu ShuBai and Gu JiuGe. This was unrelated to the younger ones.
He then said to Yu Fu: “She also knows about you. She said that she had been wanting to see you, and now she has the chance. With that girl YunYan coming, you’ll have a girl to keep you company, which puts me at ease.”
Yu Fu had occasionally heard Gu Xiang and the others bring this up. Their aunt, Madam Su, had been widowed for many years and had a daughter, Su YunYan, who was sixteen years old. Since Marquis Gu’s Manor had a style of “raising sons strictly and doting on daughters,” the eldest young miss Su ended up becoming extremely pampered.
When Gu Xiang and the others brought up Su YunYan, their expressions were a little strange. It seemed that they did not like her very much.
Gu ShuBai and Gu JiuGe both had people that they liked and were not at all interested in discussing marriage. Hearing that Madam Su would be coming to join in the liveliness, the two mysteriously furrowed their brows.
“What, are you unhappy that your aunt is coming?”
Gu HuaiJiang shot a glare over, and the two relaxed their faces and forced out a smile.
“We’re happy. It’s natural that we’re happy.”
If they said that they were unhappy, was that not just openly asking for a beating?
