She was unbothered by her best friend’s unhappiness, however. While she stared at the latter, she heard the man’s masculine voice on the phone. “Hello. Are you here yet?”
“I’m so sorry. I can’t make it tonight as I have something to attend to.” She went straight to the point after the call went through.

She was relieved when she discerned that the man on the other end did not seem to feel unhappy with this outcome.
“Yes! We’ll make plans next time; again, I’m so sorry!”
“Anyway, did you run into trouble?”
