Sitting on the car hood, Qu Xiujie noticed a Lincoln driving not far away. While he did not see who was the one beside Pei Ge, he still recognized the car’s plate number. The only one who could enjoy such wealth and status in the capital was Ji Ziming.

The chauffeur, who was supporting Qu Jingwan, greeted politely while standing on the same spot. Looking at the happy couple, this lady next to him appeared like an outsider.

“Bring her to her room.”

Ran Ran picked up a slice of steak with her fork as she looked at her father, her voice trembling with fear and trepidation.

“Sure, but you have to finish your dinner and not waste food.”

Auntie Zhang knew the children’s appetite well enough and always served them the right amount.
“Yay! Can I let grandma look at my room?”
“Of course, you can,” replied Pei Ge while feeling heartened.
“That’s amazing; I have lots to say to grandma to make her miss me.”
The girl picked up her fork as she immersed herself in the wonder of being able to speak to her grandmother.
The old cook brought the children upstairs after dinner, while the couple sat facing each other in the living room. “What do you plan to do with Qu Jingwan?”
“Wait till the right time and have her go home.”
She gave it a careful thought. She could handle Ji Chi now, for they had managed to restore their original relationship. As long as she guided him well, she believed that he would remember her soon.
