“That… Why did you call me?”
Unable to get her thoughts together, she posed this silly question to him.
He was this close to dying from anger at her question.
However, after mulling over it, he really did not know how to answer that.
He just wanted to hear her voice, so he called her at that time.
Unexpectedly, his sudden call did not even go through…
She had an epiphany upon seeing his anger-filled eyes. “Ah! I know, you probably called to tell me of what to do in case your mom comes by!”
The further she thought of this, the surer she was that that was it.
“Couldn’t I call you without reason?” the man coldly asked, squinting his eyes at her.
She first nodded and then quickly shook her head; it was as if she had just recalled something.
“Of course not!” My foot!
This annoying fellow won’t ever call me if there’s nothing, she spat inside.
He could obviously guess what was on her mind from the way her eyes darted about. She was that bad at hiding her thoughts.
Still, he wanted to know what she was up to this week to be unable to hang out with his cousin and answer his call.
“You seem to be awfully busy this week.” He coldly peered her.
She subconsciously glanced at her computer and decided to hide the fact that she had been learning online.
“I-I’m not really busy with anything. As a homebody, I just don’t feel like going out at all. He he!” She grinned at him sheepishly.
“Oh? Really?” He cocked a brow at her, returning her smile with a smirk.
“Really! What can I be busy with…” She trailed off, feeling a little depressed.
Thinking about it now, if she did not serendipitously encounter Abby, Professor William, and the rest, her current lifestyle would probably be as she had just said.
With nothing to be busy about, her world would truly only revolve around this man. She would be no better than a pet being groomed by him.
In fact, right now, she really was like a mistress being kept outside by him!
“I followed the schedule you gave me every day, so what could I be busy with?” she mumbled dejectedly.
Instead of going to classes alone every day, she preferred to busy herself with work alongside her colleagues.
The man felt a slight discomfort when he noted her gloomy and uninspired look.
“I get it.”
He did not press her anymore and merely nodded emotionlessly, deciding to keep his questions to himself.
“Ziming, can I go back to work?” She suddenly lifted her head to stare at him with her pitiful, doe eyes.
“Go back to work?” When she looked at him fixedly, he felt his heart accelerate.
“That’s right. I’m almost done learning all the stuff you want me to learn…” she reasoned.
“Are you really almost done learning them?” He felt amused watching this stupid woman before him.
Doesn’t she know that her eyes always dart around every time she lies to me or when she’s plotting something?

She was a little sheepish when he threw her words back at her.
“Fine. It’s not truly almost done…” She nudged her lips gloomily. “Still, it should be at an acceptable level.”
He could not prevent his lips from curling upward at her pouty look.
“So, are you begging me now?”
“Huh?” A little stunned by his question, she regarded him fully again.
This was when she realized that the man was in a good mood.
“So, what you’re saying is… if I beg you, you’ll agree to it?” She blinked at him as she carefully confirmed this.
“Hmm. That depends on my mood,” he replied coolly.
“…” The corner of her lips twitched. She then muttered, “Then, consider this as me begging you!”

“Let me go to work. I don’t want to live like this anymore. I want to go to work.” I want to be around people!
