Pei Ge almost spat out the water in her mouth when she heard him joke.
However, when her gaze shifted onto Ji Ziming’s perfect face, she realized that he was not joking at all.
What he said might sound like a joke, but he was serious about it.
“My darling good husband and father, can you give me a chance to be a good wife and a mother?”
She smiled at him, her eyes gentle and tender.
“Of course, you can.”
With eyes full of affection, he smiled in return as well.
Just like this, the two sitting under the canopy looked at each other endearingly. A breeze blew slowly at the canopy, bringing with it the smell of the sea.
From afar, one could tell that the two within the thin veil were very much in love with each other.

Just as the two were enjoying each other’s company, an unwanted guest spoke and interrupted the romance in the air.
Pei Ge snapped back to her senses and looked at the origin of the voice. She was not in the least bit surprised to see Qiao Jingyun appear before them in a deep V-shaped, white floral beach dress.
“What a coincidence; is Miss Qiao having a walk after lunch?”
Her lips curled into a grin.
She had started disliking this woman ever since learning that she had feelings for her fiancé.
After all, although she was generous, it only extended to those not eyeing her man!
“He he! Look at what Miss Pei is saying; it’s still early, so I of course haven’t had my lunch yet.”
Qiao Jingyun grinned at her openly.

Still, she was much better than Pei Ge as she quickly regained her senses.

She smiled at him and did not pursue the topic.
“I’ll leave you two alone now; enjoy your meal, guys!”
She quickly left the canopy and confidently strode away.
Pei Ge nudged her lips and became downcast as she watched the woman leave elegantly.
