Quin Yu looked away from the crack in the window and stared at the outside. He indifferently told Lu Kai, “I don’t have a good feeling about her. She smells of snake venom.”

On the inside, he thought more about Silika Lin, ‘Snake venom is odourless and lethal. She’s just like that... Unnoticeable until the last moment, and dangerous when that last moment finally comes.’

‘This man... they call him the god of hell, hm?’ Lu Kai thought as he watched Quin Yu with narrowed eyes.

“BOSS!” The driver at the front almost crashed the car into a nearby pole. Thankfully, however, he was able to swerve the car back onto the road. He was sweating buckets as he eyed the men through the rear-view mirror. That man wasn’t kidding! Lu Kai really pulled a trigger at his Boss! Twice!

“So? Do you expect me to chase after your woman so I can learn who I should fancy?” Lu Kai drawled mockingly as he brought out a bandage. He was holding back on cussing out at Quin Yu for seeing Silika Lin’s naked body. Even though Silika Lin wasn’t Bing Shi, they were still, after all, one and the same body, “Send the bill to my insurer.”

Quin Yu ignored the offered bandage and the deafening ringing in his ears as he stroked the small cut on his cheek. Why would he make a big fuss over a small thing? He wasn’t that petty...

.....

(Really, Quin Yu should learn to fear death. He was this close to having his brains blown out, yet he minimized what could have been a huge, horrific mess into nothing in his mind. He was truly the devil... )

Quin Yu, thinking that Lu Kai would take interest in Aoi Hong due to all of the spicy rumours and issues surrounding Silika Lin’s past, would frown and warn Lu Kai, “Stay away from Aoi Hong.”

“With pleasure,” Lu Kai replied as he put away the bandage. “I don’t like the smell of unicorn rainbows.”

The corner of Lu Kai’s lips crept up into a mocking smile when Quin Yu’s bullet missed him by a margin.

‘That woman, Aoi Hong, may be otherworldly... but she’s practically nonexistent in my eyes,’ Lu Kai thought as he crossed his arms.

The two men stared each other down, before they simultaneously looked out of their respective windows and dropped the topic. As petty as they were, they had a hint of respect for the other women.

Quin Yu never expected Lu Kai to be that unfazed by Silika Lin’s dirty past. Lu Kai wasn’t even going to attempt to erase the evidence of Silika’s fraudulent past? That was... mildly interesting, in Quin Yu’s eyes, but it wasn’t something to applaud. He didn’t care so much about their relationship even though, when Silika Lin appeared, the air around Lu Kai thickened. The aura around Lu Kai was currently off the charts.

At the movie set, a martial art instructor taught Aoi Hong how to tackle someone down. The dummy for their practice was a no-name actor who didn’t mind being tackled by Aoi Hong. Who would care if they were tackled down by a lady as gorgeous as her?

The instructor complimented Aoi Hong when she successfully tackled the actor down without much trouble, “Amazing, you have great talent.”

“Thank you,” Aoi Hong looked down with a shy smile as she apologized to the fallen actor. Quin Yu taught her a few moves. Today, she was to play a scene where Ami showed her might in front of all the newbie ‘assassins in training’, including Lisha, the outcast.

Bing Shi clapped her hands together and started to pray. It was her turn soon. A female lead aura vs a super lucky individual. Who would get hit by Karma harder?

“Silika Lin,” the director spoke to the megaphone, “We all know that you’re proficient in fighting, so try to hold back as much as you can. Action!”

“Yes!” Bing Shi nodded in understanding, “Wait. What?”

Bing Shi instinctively looked at the director as she wondered, “I don’t get a chance to practice?”

“ACTION!” The director yelled out.

Bing Shi obediently looked away from the director.

‘I’m doomed.’

Bing Shi began to cry internally as she stepped into the training ring with a snail’s tempo.I

‘I don’t want to step into dog poop because I touched a strand of her hair.’

The director nodded in satisfaction. For once, Silika’s acting was above passable.

· · — · ???· — · ·

Aoi Hong switched into her acting mode. The bubbly girl was no more. In her stead, a cool-headed beauty appeared. Ami looked at Lisha as if she was an ant. This scaredy girl was supposed to be the next organization’s head?

Bing Shi looked around the training gym, searching for a way to escape while spewing out her lines in a quick manner, “H-hey. W-why won’t we resolve this peacefully with rock paper scissors? The one who wins will b-bow down before the other and admit defeat...”

Lisha was interrupted by her own scream as she tried to avoid Ami’s lethal kick. On the camera, it looked as if Bing Shi got seriously hit. Falling on the floor, she pretended to tremble in fear. Hearing incoming footsteps, she felt her head being crushed by Amy’s shoe. ‘Ah, my poor head...This girl better step on dog poop later.’

The director shook his head in disappointment again. Instead of fear and terror, it felt as if Lisha emitted... nonchalance. She couldn’t spread certain emotions to the audience. This girl... she was really no good at acting.

He was used to working with the best of the best so it was obvious to him that Silika Lin wasn’t convincing enough. She was more than capable with other things, like stunts and the like. He had decided to focus on her strength in the film, even though it was troublesome, but that didn’t mean that he would stop pointing out her mistakes.

“This is not a child’s game,” Ami spoke out eerily as she immobilized Lisha’s body, tying her with a rope, luring yet another painful scream from Lisha’s lips.

While Bing Shi endured the pain (censored scene) there was a close-up on Ami’s expression. Her whole life, she was made to feel worthless like she didn’t matter. Now that she was this close to her goal of obtaining the throne, a lost princess decided to appear. Jealousy, hatred, and unfairness, she could convey everything silently, without words.

The scene continued until Lisha fainted. Every trainee gasped in fear of the upcoming days in this hellish training.

|CUT!|

The moment Bing Shi heard those magical words, she stood up. The rope around her dropped on the floor. She wiped her forehead with the back of her hand and shook off her goosebumps, “Whew, water please.”

Ami (Aoi Hong) was still in character and so she attempted to take Bing Shi down again.

Bing Shi realized that it wasn’t the director who spoke out. She looked at the silent audience, evading Ami’s hit effortlessly at the same time, “Water please?”

“C-cut,” the director finally voiced out, shaking his head. He was too immersed in Ami’s character. He forgot to cut the scene, “Bring Silika some water!”

Suddenly, an Adonis strode into the movie set. Clothed in a custom-made branded suit, he scanned the whole set, looking for someone. Everyone was amazed by his god-like presence. Mo Luwei was a prodigy in the business world. His parents left him an empire to rule from a young age. He made all the women drool because of his handsome face. Now that his ex-fiance was in prison, he became the most eligible bachelor in the country. The only person who didn’t care about his arrival was Aoi Hong, who ran after Silika Lin to stop her from meeting Quin Yu.

Aoi Hong still had a mission to finish, but wasn’t it already finished? Though unfavored, Silika Lin still gained the male lead’s attention, and she couldn’t allow that to continue. She found out that Quin Yu kept a folder with Silika’s name on it. She quickly sent a copy for herself before he could discover the truth.

Bing Shi’s eyes flickered like little torches, running towards Mo Luwei, she hid behind him at the last second, making Aoi Hong trip and fall into his embrace.

‘Bwahaha, she really tripped into dog poop!’

“Who...” Mo Luwei got tempted to sweep Aoi Hong into his arms. She was a beautiful woman who could enchant whoever looked at her sweet face, reminding him of a girl in his childhood. But this was not for what he came for. He turned around, surprised by the sudden hit of happiness that emitted from Silika Lin, “You....!”
