“You…” Bai Feifei’s face flushed with anger at Ning Shu. “You’re a two-faced woman! I won’t agree to you marrying Uncle.”
Ning Shu rolled her eyes. “What gives you the right to disagree? You’re just an adopted daughter—the marriage between our families isn’t something you can oppose. Even though Tang Yu is your guardian and adoptive father, you still can’t oppose his wishes.”
“You…” Bai Feifei was speechless at this rebuttal, and also felt very annoyed with herself. Yes, Uncle was just her guardian, not her father. She couldn’t ask Uncle to, for her sake, go against the marriage that his family had arranged.

Bai Feifei already felt wronged, and now Tang Yu was yelling at her in front of Ning Shu. It suddenly felt like she’d lost to her.

Bai Feifei was an adolescent going through a stage of rebellion.
