Arthur suddenly stood to his feet and walked to the balcony edge. His frightful gaze was fixed on her.
She finally perceived that person’s gaze on her figure.
Bai Weiwei raised her head further and spotted him standing on the balcony. The Blood Kin with long silver hair was staring down at her, as high up as a god looking down at ants.
There was a wave of emotions in her eyes—fragile longing, agonized struggle, and a trace of imperceptible… love.
It was just an instant of emotion.
In the blink of an eye, she suppressed it, and she lowered her head in some discomfort. It was unknown what she was thinking as she smiled in relief1.
That smile was extremely relaxed.
As though for her, going to her death was a release.
Then she stopped looking back and followed those Blood Kin to leave.
The Blood Kins’ car left the castle grounds, slowly disappearing before Arthur’s eyes.
Arthur stood there stiffly for a long time before finally discovering that his fingers had crushed the balcony’s stone railing into powder.

He suddenly whirled around and continued to drink, his heart unable to calm down.
But for some reason, his mind replayed her relieved smile.
Didn’t she know she was going to die?
How could she still bring out a smile?
As though she was happy leaving him, even if she died.

Arthur held the wine glass, head lowered. His fingers did not stop shaking.
Even by dawn’s arrival, he was still unable to think of a reason.
And because he had overindulged in wine, he finally felt drunk. He didn’t resist the magic wine’s corrosion, letting this drunkenness drag him down.
In his daze, sunlight crawled in.
A white figure fell into his arms like a butterfly.
He looked up in surprise and saw Bai Weiwei watching him with a smile. “Arthur, do you like me?”
Arthur blankly stared. He couldn’t stop himself from reaching out to touch her face.
What an obedient face, so fair and lovely.
This was his little pet.
He couldn’t help but nod his head. “If you’re a good girl, I’ll like you.”
Bai Weiwei suddenly swooped down. She kissed his thin lips, lingering and warm.
This kiss made him feel like he was drowning in joy.
She leaned into his neck, murmuring softly, “Am I a good girl?”
Arthur reached up and stroked her hair, smiling softly. “Very good.”
Bai Weiwei: “Then do you like me?”
Arthur: “Like.”
He liked her enough to become fragile, to become faint-hearted, to become disgusted with his hesitant and indecisive self.
