[Tonight’s True Objective]

‘Demon-kins’ are a kind of remodeled human beings created by the antagonistic organization, the ‘Black Sword’, in the original game.

Obtaining the power of a compatible monster by taking it in, that is a ground-breaking technology that allows you to obtain a great power without training or such.

I would like to assert that the enemy’s mad scientist is amazing for being able to create genetic modification technology in this world where science is immature.

The purpose of the ‘Black Sword’ that possesses that sort of technology is ‘acquisition of new power for humankind through demonization technology, and following that, the expansion of humankind’s living sphere’.

However, while a ‘demon-kin’ can obtain a great power, at present there are differences in the monsters that can be adapted depending on the person, and there is also a harmful effect where the human on the receiving side would loses their reason and runs out of control if their willpower is weak.

To sum up, since it is a one-off technology that can be applied only to a selected small number of people, it is surely unfit for the expansion of humankind living sphere and maintaining it, as at that point in time, there is no way of mass-producing demon-kins or the likes.

When they hear this, most people will probably think that it does not match the purpose of the organization, however, that is not surprising.

After all, the idea they advocate is merely for outward appearance, their real nature is nothing but an antisocial force that plans to take over the nation by a coup d’etat.

Moreover, the important thing to note is that, just by being keeping up outward appearance with over the top great causes and so forth, the ‘Black Sword’, making use of the demon-kins that superior than humankind, could be hostile with a peace of mind.

Among them, Luisina’s role is to rope in the dignitaries of the nation by using her ability to turn others into her dependents that she has as a vampire demon-kin to lay the groundworks on politics, and to take over the nation from inside.

However, the effect of her ‘Blood Mist’ works only on opponents below a certain level, therefore, it has little effect on knights and adventurers, who are also the national security enforcers, as they had been through multiple battlefields.

And also, people who put themselves in battle as swords and shields that protect the people’s living sphere.

The influence of the voice of such people is extremely strong, no matter how many dignitaries in the internal affairs they seize, they cannot deal with them by ordinary means… in short, people like them are opponents that cannot be ignored for the purpose of the organization, yet, they cannot be dealt with due to the bad match up.

So, in this operation, by killing the dignitaries invited to the opera house, they’d be able to chip the country’s organizational ability, by letting the knight order take responsibility for the turmoil, the influence of their voice would be reduced, and with the exposure of the demonization technology in this operation, they’d be able to lay the groundwork to grasp the country’s military power… or something along the lines are what I feel the boss of the organization was saying.

Let’s get back to the main subject, which is the ‘demon-kin’ and talk about the boss of this time’s event, ‘Luisina Mateos’.

The abilities of Luisina who have taken in a vampire monster ‘Fluid Vampire’ as a demon-kin were generally inspired by the vampires that also exist in the real world, so they’re not that twisted of abilities.

First of all, ‘granting abnormal statuses’.

It’s fundamentally something that gives opponent ‘fascination’ and once in a while ‘bleeding’.

In case both are granted, each skill will be activated, so although it doesn’t deal damage itself, the former is a skill that targets the whole party, and if one is ‘fascinated’, they would be incapacitated for the next turn, and the latter causes continuous damage for several turns.

However, these two are not a threat because they can be avoided with items such as equipment and consumables.

The next is ‘raw attack power’.

Her difficulty as a boss is a little higher than Babi Niflheim, though compared to him, her attack power is lower, the attacks launched from her slender arm embodies the highest firepower at this event.

Among them, ‘Rigid Body Disturbance’, a move that attacks random targets multiple times, is a move so dangerous to the point that an ally’s HP would thaw in an instant if it is concentrated on them alone.

In fact, it is something that was personally experienced by yours truly, who got the protagonist and the heroines dissolved by keeping their levels low many times, so there’s no doubt about it.

And finally ‘Dependent Summon’.

This skill, which is one of her abilities as a vampire demon-in and is even deeply related to the event, allows her to summon up to two random monsters in the original game.

Moreover, perhaps her action pattern was set so that she would always have two dependents beside her, no matter how many dependents you defeated, there would be no end to them.

Furthermore, since the summoned dependents were given the ability to automatically recover Luisina’s HP slightly every turn, waiting for the surroundings is a group lynch from running out of resources of allies. It’s a future that will be bumpy.

However, since Luisina needed to consume action to summon the dependents, by letting her replenish them, it is possible to restrict her action.

Be that as it may, because she could replenish the maximum number of them with one action, and she could take action twice when her HP reduced below a certain limit, it doesn’t change the fact that she is a troublesome enemy to deal with, however.

Based on the above, the strategy to capture Luisina Mateos is to ‘strengthen your equipment, negate the abnormal status, reduce the dependents to ashes with all your attacks without letting them take action, and continue to hit the enemy while reducing the damage she deals using whatever means’, that is the straightforward approach.

Of course, I’ve prepared ‘silver threads’ that would deal more damage against vampires and their dependents. In addition, by relying and making rounds around the Adventurer’s Guild, I’ve obtained and equipped myself with a ‘Preliminary Bandage’ to increase my resistance to ‘bleeding’

Regarding ‘fascination’, I’ve already got it covered because I’ve acquired the skill to invalidate ‘fascination’ in my childhood ‘The Person Who Gazes at the Water Surface (Narcissist)’.

For some reason, before I noticed it, I already acquired this skill; if I remember correctly, ‘The Person Who Gazes at the Water Surface (Narcissist)’ has the most anomalous acquisition method, that is ‘to act in a fascinated state until a certain number of times’, however, I can’t seem to remember when I acquired it.

Since it could resist even the irresistible skill like ‘National Beauty’, I thought I profited big time, but in fact, when I noticed it, I only thought: Oh right, there was such a skill.

Anyway, even if I’m soloing her, my countermeasures are perfect, with my plan that I’ve conceived using all the information of both Luisina’s attack motions and her dependents in my head, I should have been able to defeat her without taking too much time, however…

“Can’t you please use your skills for a bit!? My battle plan has gone haywire, though!?” (Sakurai)

“What skills!” (Luisina)

“‘Fascinating Diva’! ‘Preparation for Supper’! ‘Dependent Summon’ and ‘Rigid Body Disturbance’!! Ain’t everything your skills!!” (Sakurai)

“I don’t know anything about skills with such stupid names!” (Luisina)

“You kiddin’ me! There’s no way a boss doesn’t know their own skills!?”

Luisina swing her arm with a totally amateurish movement.

Her arm below her elbow vanish in an instant, striking heavily at the spot 5 meters away from me, the spot where I had been until just now.

Twice, thrice. The whipping that strikes incessantly while I rotate my body as though dancing, when closely looked at closely, come from her arms below her elbow that literally elongated several meters; just like the name of ‘Fluid’, they attack drawing irregular trajectory.

(Dammit, because she just waves her arms to attack, the trajectory is unreadablee! I don’t know a thing about this motion!!)

You’re a boss, ain’t you!? So why’re you ignoring the actions pattern that your creators set for you!?

Don’t you feel sorry for the dozens of creators-sama who created your motions for you!?!?

“Ahh mou, stop moving around!” (Luisina)

“Hey, that’s—!? Dangerous!?” (Sakurai)

“You’re so irritating, don’t move from that spot! I’m not good at fighting, y’know!” (Luisina)

“Don’t say the impossible!!!” (Sakurai)

And depending on her mood, she would grab a nearby mob and throw them at me, wind her arm at the pillar behind me and attack me from the back, and while her arm contracts she would shoot a drop kick at me… they’re movements that, as far as I know, didn’t exist in the original games.

They’re not skills, just ‘normal attacks’.

The ordinary movements that did not exist in the original game bother me.

Swinging my sword, I repel the incoming arm.

Occasionally, her arm got restrained by the trap of ‘Shishū’ that I installed, seeing that opening, I slashed at it with combined attack of sword and threads.

However, by the time that the cut off arm burned and turned into ashes in the air, Luisina was already taking a posture to counter attack with her newly regrown arm, my attacks that were aimed at her body then repelled before they reached her body at the expense of her both arms.

(No, they’re not even an expense because they regrow right after being cut. She should receive some damage, but it will take too long at this rate…!)

Kicking off the old man wearing a suit for gentlemen thrown from the audiences’ seats, I tilt my body to avoid the strikes aiming at my temporal region in a flash.

I could handle them because they came from quite a distance, but if they were to come from a close range, the difficulty level would increase dramatically.

For an easy-to-understand image for modern people, can you pass through two hoses that discharge water wildly in an unpredictable manner without getting wet and hit? I wonder if that’s a good analogy?

(Should I just resolve myself to get some hit and go at her? Do I have time to restore my HP? How much HP the opponent has left? Geeeezz, just use a skill, damn you!)

If she at least does a same movement as in the original game, I would be able to make use of that and lead her around by the nose, but she hasn’t done anything of the sort even once.

While I inwardly complaining like that, Luisina suddenly stops her attack.

“Oh?” (Sakurai)

I watch with wonderment as Luisina completely takes off her fighting stance.

She looks vacantly at the air, sighs a little and mutters in a terribly weak voice.

“I’m tired.” (Luisina)

“What?” (Sakurai)

“I’ll take a break. Wait a minute.” (Luisina)

“Ehh…?” (Sakurai)

She then sits in the chair musical ensemble that is lying nearby, and begins to take a break while drinking a drink that she has brought out from somewhere.

While I’m surprised at her My Pace behavior, I start wondering why she acted differently from the original——before getting sent flying by a hit while being unprepared

“Gah!? Gh!?” (Sakurai)

It was a complete coincidence that her fist struck the sword I placed firmly before my chest, while being blown away, I entwine threads around my body, and succeed in regaining my posture.

Even so, the attack struck at that opening has dealt me a non-negligible damage, my sight taking in Luisina standing up from the chair is flickering slightly.

“The break is over. Let’s continue.” (Luisina)

“You’ve already attacked, ain’t ya…!” (Sakurai)

“By the way, can I go back soon? The stage is over anyway, and I have nothing to do anymore, right?” (Luisina)

“For some reason, it feels like you don’t take your opponent seriously.” (Sakurai)

In addition to that, I feel a little annoyed at myself for not revving up my engine even slightly.

The cause is clear, it’s most likely because my purpose this time has nothing to do with leveling.

The gold plating that I’ve been keeping up until now begins to peel off in order to create an environment for leveling.

That said, if I don’t attack, there’ll be no end to this…

(……Hold on?)

I watch Luisina’s movements.

Her amateurish way of fighting, which is so different from the original, is completely unreadable because it couldn’t be tracked, but if I respond calmly, I’ll be able to insert counterattacks little by little.

However, considering her HP, it’d take too much time to defeat her, moreover, the turmoil in the opera house is merely the opening performance. As long as I can achieve my purpose, there’s no need to forcibly defeat Luisina, is there?

A lightning bolt runs through my mind.

That’s right, as long as I can get her not to get in the way later, there’s no need to defeat her, huh.

“……What are you laughing at? Disgusting.” (Luisina)

“What, you ask? I was just struck with an idea.” (Sakurai)

“That so. Then can you suicide already? I hate persistent men, y’know.” (Luisina)

“Well, listen to me for a sec, I know that you find the current situation a hassle. So do I. That’s why, for my own sake, I can offer you ‘freedom’.” (Sakurai)

Freedom.

Luisina, responding to that word with a jerk, looks straight at me, who she has only been put at the edge of her sight.

The offensive and defensive exchanges turn into a stare down, and Luisina moves her gaze as though appraising me. I just receive it with a fearless smile and wait.

If I can get her to a negotiation, then that’s good, and if I can’t, I’ll bring this into a short-term decisive battle with no regard for exhaustion for real this time.

Whether she knows or not of that plan of me, Luisina urges me to talk by crossing her arm to show that she’s willing to sit at the negotiation table.

“Amanai… was it? I don’t know that you know about me, but since you said that word to me, you must’ve a good suggestion, no? Alright, explain it briefly. I’ll decide with that.” (Luisina)

She’s hooked.

Because I’m not good at negotiation, I wouldn’t do things like probing for her intention or calculating the advantages and disadvantages; I’ll just tell her the details straight.

“I will attack the base of the ‘Black Sword’ tonight. I’ll let everyone knows that you die here and let you go, so help me act out a play.” (Sakurai)

This is my true big objective tonight, the shortest route I chose to repay my debt.

My aim is the enemy’s base, or more precisely the equipment, items, and above all, the operating funds (gold and silver treasures) amassed there. It’s a move-up strategy with no regard to the state of progress of the game that is only possible because it has become reality.

“Heeeh… whether you’re just joking around, or being serious, I’m interested in your story.” (Luisina)

At my words, Luisina, with a frank and happy looking smile, uncrosses her arms and approaches me with no fear of my sword attack range.

“Just that, talking while standing stiffly on the stage is a disgrace of an opera singer.” (Luisina)

Then, when she arrives in front of me, she grabs the hem of her crimson dress and gives me a bow like a humble noble daughter.

“Whether you are a reliable performer, let us confirm that while dancing (fighting).” (Luisina)

“Got it. Details, rewards, etc. Though crude, I’ll sing ‘em at the top of my voice.” (Sakurai)

As though being invited by Luisina’s courtesy, I give a bow in kind, when both of us raise our faces——sword and fist hit each other.

I repel the straightforward punches that are unlike the whipping until now with Perfect Guards, scattering sparks in the air. The tempo gradually increases, and from the side it might seem like fierce exchanges at close range.

While acting out such a ‘play’, I start explaining about my plan to Luisina.
