Time had finally come. Kana woke up to the sounds of birds outside her window. The man lying next to her stirred slightly at her movement. Since evolving the past week and a half, Kana and Creige had been sleeping in the same bed. She would cuddle up next to him, using his chest as a pillow, while Creige would hold her in his arms. Nothing more than this happened. The two just enjoyed the comfort they felt in each other's company.
But now, all of this was going to change. Today was the day Kana was going to be going to take the test to enter the academy. Only here would they be able to hone their skills and learn many new things. Kana got up and sleepily walked towards the bathroom, her tail swaying back and forth. She was wearing a white long t-shirt with two holes in the back, one hole for her wings and the other for her tail. The shirt went down past her knees and seemed overly big for her as the collar of her shirt slid down over her shoulder. Creige laid in bed, waiting for her to finish before getting up and going in himself.
A few hours later, Kana and Creige appeared outside the gates of the academy. Waiting outside were many hopeful beastkin of all ages. They hoped to enter the Academy and learn the knowledge needed to acquire a trade along with learning how to fight. The academy has taught many younger generations many things, from forging to politics. Each student, in order to enter, must have some basic combat ability since a majority of the teachings is combat. Things like learning to forge weapons was secondary.
The official name of the academy was Redleaf Academy, named after its founder Kilford Redleaf. He started the academy in order to help the young and up-and-coming talents have a place to learn so that they could benefit the future of the Rural Kingdom.
"Which secondary are you going to take?" Creige asked as they stood, waiting for the testing to begin.
Kana looked up at Creige and a bright smile formed on her face. She reached up, put her arms around Creige's neck, and stood on her tiptoes so she could kiss his lips. "I plan to follow in my handsome husband's footsteps. I will learn to forge so in the future the two of us can always be together."
Creige's eyes curled up as he smiled. He lowered his head and kissed Kana's lips. "Then, within these five years, I will need to modify my shop so we can both work at the same time."
Kana smiled a toothy grin and hugged Creige. As the two were being lovey-dovey, the people around them were all staring. Some girls were blushing while others were drooling over Creige's handsome face. Then there were the boys, who were all giving side glances at Kana. She was very beautiful, and the way she smiled with her teeth showing really made some of those boys fall in love instantly.
As all of this was going on, a large man with bear ears and a stubby bear tail walked out of the massive gates that lead into the academy. "It is good to see you all here. Registration will now begin. Everyone is to line up in two lines. Once you have registered, you will then be led to the first testing area. And finally, I would like to warn you all. Cheating or fighting will not be tolerated. You will be kicked from the academy and never allowed back. Alright, get lined up!"

All the new hopefuls quickly lined up. Kana turned and looked at the line beginning to form and let out a sigh. She was just starting to enjoy the feeling of love. Now she had to part with her man, leaving her very reluctant to do so. Kana held Creige's hand, squeezing it tightly. "I have to go..."
"Mmm... The academy has many breaks throughout the five years you will be there. During that time I will be here waiting for you so we can see each other. Unfortunately, I can not enter the grounds since they seal it off. While you are here learning, I will make sure to keep an eye on your house in this kingdom and will begin work on making a new home for you in Stone Hammer. I will also send you letters." Creige said as he pulled Kana into a hug.
"I will write to you as much as I can. Also, if for any reason Ceilie shows up, please help her out. She is my precious family." Kana once again stood on her tiptoes and gave Creige a kiss. Creige nodded his head and gave his promise before giving Kana a small push so she could go stand in line.
Kana smiled and waved at him before jogging over to the line. She turned around to see Creige still standing there. Only after she waved to him again did he wave back before teleporting away. Kana felt sad seeing him leave, but she had decided to do this. She wanted to experience school life for the first time in her two lives. So far, this life has really been amazing for her. She wanted to do so much and had plenty of time to do it all. "I hope the academy will be fun..."
As time ticked by, the line quickly became shorter and shorter. Until finally, it was Kana's turn. She stood in front of the table where an older woman who had wings on her back was sitting behind. "Name?"
"Kana."
"Then, Kana, I will ask that you fill out this form here..." The woman raised her head and almost choked on her words when she saw Kana standing there. "You! You are the hero of Rural! Miss Kana, it is a pleasure to meet you. I am a fan! I had heard you just went through an evolution and compared the images I have seen of you before and after, you really did sprout to be a beauty! May I have your autograph!?"
