Aoi flew forward and hugged Kana's cheek. She knew Kana never saw them as just tools and that she saw them as family. After giving Kana a hug, Aoi then flew over to Naru and hugged him tightly before pushing her lips against his causing the poor little death elemental to freeze. "Naru, I leave Kana to you. Protect her. I will be back as soon as I can."

"Huh? Yes..." Naru's mind was full of nothing but Aoi's soft lips that touched his.

Kana held back her laughter as she smiled at the two. "Aoi, I will see you when you get back. Be careful."

"I will!" Aoi waved before quickly flying off towards the north.

Kana and Naru watched as Aoi's little figure slowly disappeared into the darkness. "She will be okay. Aoi is strong."

"Mmm… Kana, we should head southwest. The thing I felt is in that direction somewhere." Naru's eyes never moved from the direction Aoi left in.

Kana adjusted her direction as she took off flying through the air. The area in front of her was nothing but pure black.  The two traveled for two weeks straight without running into anything. It was not until the second day of the third week that Kana stopped in her tracks. "This place is… A city?"

What lay before Kana's eyes was a massive citadel with a large town surrounding it and high walls that surrounded the town. There were many blue lights moving about within the city, from what Kana could tell. But she could not sense anything living down there.

"Kana, it's here… It's faint, but I can tell whatever I felt is here deep under this city." Naru's words caused a frown to appear on Kana's brow.

It was not that she was afraid to go in, but she still had a thing about ghosts. She looked down at the city and saw no one inside but the blue light, so she went to fly down and land inside the city when she suddenly smacked right into an invisible barrier. "Ouch!"

"Kana, there is a barrier there..." Naru scratched his nose. He had realized it earlier but forgot to mention it.

"Next time, say something, so I do not make a fool out of myself..." Kana replied. Before flying to the side of the city that had a gate.

She landed on the ground and looked at the massive gate that had gothic style statues carved out of the side of it. They were not the most friendly looking carvings she had ever seen. But on this gate was a sign of sorts that had ancient writing on it. "It would be nice if I could read what that said."

If Kana could read what was written on that sign, she would never even think of entering this city. "Those of the living heed the rules of the dead. Once you enter, leave your soul behind."

Kana clenched her fist as she took a step forward. As she did, she seemed to have passed through a strange film. It was as if she had dived into a pool made of jello.

---

The realm of gods…

"Kana!?" The hammer in Creige's hand slipped to the ground. He quickly opened his system menu to see that both of his passives that connected him to Kana were very faint. But still visible. "Kana, what are you doing..."

Without another word, he quickly walked over to a table next to him and wrote a quick note. He then made a few hand signs causing magic circles to appear on the paper. Changing it into a small white bird. "Go to Yuthia." At his command, the small white bird flapped its wings and flew off.

Creige knitted his brow once more and looked up at the sky. "Please be okay..."

Hell…

"What the hell happened!? My summon connection with Kana disappeared!" Camlia, who was deep in the ancient lands of hell, had a bad premonition. She turned to Mel and said: "We are leaving. Mel, you are coming with me to the Mortal world. Something happened to Kana."

"Huh!? Something happened to Kana!?" Mel's eyes went wide.

"Yeah, let's go." Camlia did not even wait for Mel to say another word before opening a passage to the mortal world and tossing Mel in, and then jumping in herself.

---

The realm of gods…

Sei and Yuthia were hanging out in their old place, eating gr.a.p.es, when a white small bird made of paper flew in. "Oh? Creige sent a message."

"Sei, what does it say?" Yuthia, who was lazily lying down on a large cushioned bench on her stomach, asked.

"..." Sei read the letter then read it again. "Yuthia, we are going to the mortal world now! Something seems to have happened to Kana."

"Huh, what!? Ahh!" Yuthia tried to get up quickly only to have her hand slip on the cushion, causing her to fall right off the bench.  Rubbing her nose Yuthia pulled herself back up and asked: "What do you mean something happened to her?"

"I'm not sure. Creige only said that the passives he has in his system that bind their souls together are transparent and hard to read." Sei answered as she helped Yuthia up and created a door of light to the mortal world. "Let's go."

---

Aoi had flown far north and suddenly stopped when she felt her connection to Kana become faint. "Kana?" She turned her head and looked in the direction she had come from. Taking a deep breath, she slowly let it out. Aoi clenched her fist and continued on. She knew Kana better than anyone. There was no way she would be defeated so easily, and she had not felt any distress from the connection she had with Kana at this time.

Inside the city, Kana looked around to find the city seemed to have the same architecture as that of the middle ages back on Earth. "It's quiet..."

"Mmm… But I can now feel the presence more clearly now. It is deep within the building in the middle…." Naru pointed to the citadel in the citer. It was massive and looked more like a hideout for evil villains more than anything else. With its tall black towers and eerie blue lights most people would not want to get too close.
