"Heana quickly apologize to Miss Kana right now!" Grandma Dawson yelled. She then turned to Kana and bowed her head again. "These girls can not even wipe their own butts without help, so please don't hold it against them for being ignorant."
Heana was shocked at Grandma Dawson's words. She just called them stupid in a roundabout way! But she still did not understand why a high god would be so courteous to a named god. It was unthinkable! Knowing the strength of a high god, they could easily squash a named god like a bug! While Heana was lost in thought, she felt a sharp pain in her ear, bringing her back to reality. "Ahh! Grandma Dawson..."
"I told you to apologize now, apologize!" Grandma Dawson yelled as she tossed Heana to her knees in front of Kana.
Kana, who had yet to say a word stood there and acted like this whole scene had nothing to do with her. She gazed down at Heana with a mocking smile on her face causing Heana anger to boil, but she did not dare go against Grandma Dawson's words! "I-I'm sorry..."
"Mmm, good. Now then. Old lady, I broke your granddaughter's wrist because she was trying to slap my friend. You should know that I am very big on kinship. I will not allow stupid people to bully my friends. You should really raise your children better. Because they make the side of light look dark, if you know what I mean." Kana smiled before taking Dandan's hand and walking off. She had wasted enough time dealing with these dumb people, and she did not want to deal with them anymore.
Grandma Dawson watched as Kana walked away and breathed a sigh of relief. She then walked over and slapped Heana's back hard before turning to the other girls. "Each and every one of you should learn to know who to offend and who not to offend! Do you think ranking is everything!? Do you think my status as a high god means squat!? Do you know who that little girl is!? One mistake, and we could all be dead right now, including me! You anger her too much, and she will suck the life force right out of your body! The goddess of death has a special status. Even supreme gods and up need to treat her with respect. And here you idiots go trying to pick a fight with her!
"That little girl can kill you and use your life force as a means to grow stronger. Even before she had become a goddess of death, that little girl was unreasonably strong and could even fight on par with lower gods before even reaching her fourth evolution. She has still not even reached her fourth evolution! But look at her. She beat the system and is already a named god!" Grandma Dawson was so mad she wanted to beat each one of these girls to death.
News had spread long ago about the goddess of death finally ascending to the realm of gods, and even before that, they knew her children and husband were already in the realm of gods. No named or higher realmed gods dared to interfere. It had become a wide consensus that District 7 was now the goddess of death's territory even if she did not do anything with it.
"Grandma Dawson, are you just going to let her get away with what she did?" Heana still couldn't understand what was going on with the Dawson family. Why were they making way for a lowly named goddess? It is not like they didn't have the power to overwhelm them.
"Humph! If you wish to keep chasing that little girl, then go ahead. But my family will not be a part of it. But before you do anything, I would suggest you speak to your parents if you have any." Grandma Dawson waved her hand and made the still unconscious Gisel float into the air before disappearing, taking Gisel with her. Later that night, Heana went home and talked with her parents, only to get beat black and blue. But even after all of that, she still did not understand a single thing.
Back to Kana, who was now sitting by a large fountain eating some fried meat with Dandan sitting next to her, staring holes in her side. "Dandan, if you have something to ask, just ask, don't stare."
"How did you do it? When the high goddess showed up, I felt like the whole world was going to collapse." Dandan was now looking at Kana with starry eyes.
"It is because of who I am and what I am able to do." Kana stood up and walked over to a flower. She extended her finger and touched the flower with the tip of her finger. The flower instantly withered away. "I can take the life force out of everything. It doesn't matter how strong one is. Under the effects of withering, there is no escape. The goddess of death has the ability to dictate who is alive and who is not. This is why those who are in the know will treat me with respect."
"I see… So, in other words, Your amazing cool!" Dandan said excitedly. "I feel blessed to have you as my friend."
Kana couldn't help but laugh as she walked over and patted Dandan's head. "Over time, you will be just as cool. You know… My big sister is a chimera and she is now the queen of hell. She is also one of the nicest people I know. So do not ever look down on yourself for being a chimera."
Dandan looked up at Kana and smiled brightly. "Mmm… I will never look down on myself again. Maybe one day I can meet your big sister so I can meet one of my kind."
