--AN: Bonus Chapter 14/16--
The next morning Kana woke up to the most wonderful smell in the entire world. She had at some point fallen asleep. She found that while cultivating, her body was unable to take staying up four days straight. She guessed there was a limit to how many days she was able to stay awake before her body would need real sleep.
She got out of bed, her robes loosely covering her body as she walked out of her bedroom, through the main hall, and out to the courtyard where the wonderful smell was coming from. "Kana! How can you come outside like that!?"
Kana, who was rubbing her sleepy eyes, paid no mind to the yell until she found her arm secured and was being dragged away at a hurried speed. When she realized this, Kana quickly woke up and began struggling! "Wait! The meat!"
"You can have meat later. Senior Brother is outside! How can you expose so much skin!?" Shi Yu yelled while Liu Na nodded her head in agreement.
Kana looked down at herself and saw that her shoulders and thigh were showing but did not see how it was a problem. When she first arrived, she was wearing shorts that exposed most of her thighs and a wrap around that covered her chest only. Kana scratched her messy bed head as she let the two girls drag her back into the house.
Kana was quickly changed and stuffed into a chair while Liu Na and Shi Yu tended to her. Although she had maids before with how Liu Na and Shi Yu were acting, she actually felt like a princess so much so that she had to mention it. "Hehe, I feel like a princess."
Shi Yu and Liu Na looked at each other and smiled. They also just now realized that they were treating Kana with a lot of care as if she was truly one. "Then, my lady, please make sure you are fully dressed before leaving your room. You can not go around exposing your body. Although you may have been used to it in the forest, the men around here will not be able to handle a beauty like you and might try to do unspeakable things to you."
"Mmm… That's right! Especially Senior Brother! He may not act like it, but he is a closet pervert. He even spied on us girls when we were washing off in a lake during a mission once." Liu Na added before mumbling: "Plus, to me, you are like a princess."
A certain Senior Brother... "Ahchoo!"
Shi Yu was able to hear what Liu Na said, causing her to look at Liu Na, whose cold expression was very soft as she gazed at Kana and was quite surprised by words and expression. Liu Na was always like a block of ice, who never showed an ounce of emotion. But here she was looking at Kana so warmly that it was completely out of character for her.
Once Kana was set free from the two girls, she ran out of the house and began fighting with Yi Tan over the meat. Back inside the room, Shi Yu stopped Liu Na. "Nana, I have noticed that you have taken a liking to Kana really quickly, even when we first met."
"Mmm… I can not explain it. I feel drawn to her. She is like a bright shining light in my dark world. Ever since I first laid eyes on her, she has given off a kind of aura that makes me want to protect and help her in any way possible. Sorry, I know my words sound strange, but it is truly hard to explain what I am talking about." Liu Na's cheeks turned red. She couldn't say that she felt that Kana was someone who should be worshiped. She knew if she did, the others would think she was crazy.
The object of their conversation was currently stuffing her face with meat. When the two girls came out and saw this, they both facepalmed. Liu Na sighed and walked over to Kana, took out a tissue, and began wiping the grease off Kana's face. This made Shi Yu facepalm once again as she watched Liu Na truly treat Kana like a princess.
After having her fill and patting her belly, Kana felt like she was finally ready for training, and Shi Yu was already ready for her. "Take this sword and have a spar with me. I want to see where your current swordplay is."
Kana nodded and took the wooden sword that was surprisingly heavy. But not so heavy that she would not be able to swing it. She got into her stance that she was taught so long ago and readied herself for Shi Yu to attack.
For Shi Yu, swordsmanship was her specialty. This was why she was able to learn sword intent at such a young age. She loved the sword. She put her heart and soul into it. Her level of understanding was much higher than even some of the elders. But when she looked at Kana's stance and saw how it showed no openings, her eyes lit up. 'It seems she was trained well...'
Yi Tan, who was standing at the side, was to be the referee, so when he saw the two were ready, he yelled out: "Begin!"
Shi Yu did not use her sword intent and charged at Kana with her sword, attacking with pure skill. Kana was ready for this, so she easily blocked the opening attack and followed up with a counter. The two girls' swords clashed, making loud clacking sounds as wood fell against wood.
*Clack!* *Clack!* *Clack!* *Clack!*
The two girls fought back and forth. Shi Yu's eyes were filled with excitement since it had been so long since she had sparred with someone who had such a profound understanding of the sword. Kana was also having fun as she found Shi Yu's way of using the sword was very interesting. She would leave fake openings and attack when her opponent went for it. It was a sly tactic but a very good one. Kana also started doing the same thing trying to understand and learn this world's swordsmanship.
Three hours passed, and the two girls were still going at it. Sweat dripped from their brows, and their clothes clung to their skin, but the smile on their faces never ceased as they seemed to be learning a lot from each other. Shi Yu was picking up some of Kana's techniques while Kana was picking up some of Shi Yu's techniques. They were truly two young masters of the sword.
"Alright enough, or you two will not be able to train later on."
