The two were in a brutal fight of life and death. As Kana watched the two battle, she noticed another smaller rhino type demonic beast not too far away laying on the ground, motionless, covered in blood. It seemed the smaller rhino was the wolf's target and almost got away with a free meal, but the mother had arrived before it could take it away. The two demonic beasts were covered in bloody wounds, neither willing to give way. Kana watched their battle for a few hours before finally, the two demonic beasts began to slow down their attacks as blood loss began to kick in.
As the two demonic beasts staggered back and forth, still trying to kill the other, Kana's eyes sparkled. "If I do not go now and another demonic beast comes to steal my prey I would have waited all this time for nothing!"
Kana did not wish to lose this chance so she quickly dashed out of the bush she was hiding under and ran up under the wolf demonic beasts first with her sword in her mouth. Once she was just underneath it, she transformed back into her humanoid form, dropped the sword into her hand and thrust up at the wolf's neck where a large wound was already visible, causing blood to spill all over her body. Not caring for the mess she made, she transformed back into her dragon form, tossed the sword back in her mouth and dashed towards the rhino demonic beast, and finished it off as well. The two demonic beasts had no chance to react as Kana completely took advantage of the situation and did not hesitate in her actions.
Seeing the two demonic beasts falling to the ground, Kana's lips curled up into a smile. "Now then..."

She walked over to the stomach of the rhino and stabbed her sword in, slicing it open. She dug around until she found what she was looking for. When pulled out, a brown beast's core that was as big as her fist, her eyes grew wide with excitement. "It's huge!"
After doing the same to the wolf she now had two different colored best cores. A red one and a brown one. She could feel the dense spiritual qi within the two cores, making her very happy. She stored the cores away in her robes before making a hasty retreat. If more demonic beasts came and saw her, she would end up being targeted due to her weak cultivation. She was not dumb enough to stick around. But before she left, she checked the baby rhino and dug out another small core from it before running back into the woods.
After running a good distance away from the scene of the battle, Kana climbed a tree and looked out over the treetops to get her general direction before making her way towards the mountain to meet up with Liu Na. Today was actually a very productive day if she did not say so herself. One thing Kana noticed as she was making her way through the woods was that the demonic beasts in the outer rim of the forest seemed to be moving away from her. After racking her brain on why this was so, she figured it must be for two reasons... First she was covered in blood of two rank two demonic beasts. And second, she had two rank two cores on her. The demonic beasts were probably thinking she was a rank two demonic beast.
While this was a good way of warding off demonic beasts, for now, she could not always do this, or her trip to this mystic realm would be for naught. She knew she had to enter more battles with demonic beasts and really learn how to fight or she would end up in tough situations all the time. No matter how dangerous it was going to be or how many times she got injured, she needed to truly begin her training. After battling the rock lion, she learned a hard lesson and she planned to make sure such a thing never happened again.

It was starting to get dark when Kana slowly emerged from the tree line, still covered in blood. She had yet to say a word before she was quickly embraced by Liu Na. "Thank the heavens you are okay!"
"Hehe. I got a bit of extra while I was out." Kana replied with a smile as she patted Liu Na's back.
Liu Na released Kana from her embrace and quickly checked her over. When she saw Kana was fine she let out a sigh of relief. But her mouth dropped open when she saw the three beats cores in her hand. "Kana, this?"
"When I was running away from the wine monkeys, I was forced to go deeper into the forest, where I found two rank two demonic beasts fighting, one was a wolf with flames on its ears and the tips of its three tails while the other was a metal plated rhino and its baby, which was dead. My guess is the wolf killed the rhino's baby, and the mama fought the wolf to the death. But I took advantage of the situation after waiting for them to both be near death." Kana explained.
