Chicken is Delicious (1)

Anna and Natalie returned to the carriage together and collapsed directly on the bench.

Mental strength could be restored by meditation, but physical exhaustion must be fixed by truly resting. She suspected that tomorrow she would have sore limbs and wouldn’t be able to move.

Natalie was not ‘battered’ by the demon, and so her condition was much better. She squatted down beside Anna and helped her massage her legs.

“Anna, you must be tired, right? I’ll give you a massage to help you relax first, and then we can eat something.” She said, putting a dish of snacks that she hadn’t finished in the morning in front of Anna, “If you are hungry, you can also eat some first.”

Anna was moved, and said: “Thank you, Natalie, you are so kind!”

Natalie covered her flushed face and said: “Anna, you have helped me a lot. You didn’t even forget to take me along with you for such a good opportunity. I just did this little thing, which is really nothing at all.”

“We are what they say ‘cooperating to achieve mutual benefits’. If I didn’t bring you along, how could I enjoy such a good carriage and eat so many delicious snacks?” Anna smiled and patted Natalie’s head, “Just massaging here and there is enough; I’ll be fine once I rest later.”

Natalie agreed, but she still massaged Anna for ten minutes before stopping.

She washed her and Anna’s hands with the clean water in the glass jar under the bench, then picked out some dried meat, nuts and bread to share with Anna.

The sky gradually darkened, and Anna, who had taken a nap, felt much better. It was not convenient to take a bath in the wild. She wiped her body, changed into fresh clothes, and got out of the carriage with Natalie for a stroll.

Perhaps the coachmen of noble families followed certain rules. Whether it was the coachman from the demon’s or Natalie’s family, Anna couldn’t detect their existence very much. It seemed that they would appear when the owner needed them to drive the carriage and they would disappear when they were not needed.

For example, right now; there was a small fire in the center of the clearing surrounded by the two carriages, but only the demon was sitting there.

Natalie saw the fire and “Raymond” and winked at Anna, probably asking if she wanted to go over there.

Anna didn’t want to go back to the carriage now; she felt bored, and so she dragged Natalie over and sat down across the fire opposite the demon.

“Mage Raymond, have you eaten?” Anna said politely.

Rothgarr opened his eyes and looked over. “No.”

Anna and Natalie, who had eaten well and never would have guessed that the demon had not eaten yet, looked at each other. Anna smiled and said to Rothgarr, “What a coincidence, we haven’t eaten either.”

“Yes, yes!” Natalie added with a guilty conscience. In fact, her belly was full of food right now.

As soon as the two of them finished speaking, they saw a coachman approaching with a pot, in which there was some kind of meat and seasoned water. The pot was set atop the fire. The other coachman also took some kind of animal meat that was cleaned from an unknown place, put an iron stick through it, and grilled it on the fire.

Anna understood everything from this set up; she had wondered why the two coachmen had suddenly disappeared. It turned out that they had gone to carry out the demon’s orders. And here she thought they had a talent for having no presence. She glanced at Natalie with some pity in her eyes: Your coachman followed someone else’s orders!

Natalie vaguely understood what Anna meant, and her expression was very calm: Even I have to listen to Mage Raymond’s orders; what’s wrong with my coachman following them?

The two “making eyes at each other” made Rothgarr’s brows jump.

No longer wanting to watch Anna and Natalie play the eyebrow game, he said: “Anna, have you remembered what I taught you today?”

Here comes the threatening “do you remember” question!

Anna felt like she returned to those times in the earl’s mansion when she was forcibly stuffed with a lot of knowledge by the demon, and was asked if she remembered just after reading it to her once.

Although he never checked, she would still have a momentary stress response when she heard this kind of question.

“I remember.” Anna said very positively.

Rothgarr responded casually, “Oh.” He was very perfunctory.

Anna had become accustomed to his poor attitude after going through this afternoon’s “exercise”. Seeing that he didn’t have any intention of asking further, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

After that, there was only the crackling sound of wood burning in the fire.

After a while, the barbecue and stew were almost cooked. The two coachmen bowed and left without saying a word from beginning to end.

Smelling the scent of meat, even Anna, who had just eaten, wantsd a taste.

She asked curiously: “What kind of meat is this?”

Rothgarr casually said: “Six winged flightless chicken.”

Anna took a moment to imagine what this animal looked like when it was still alive, and said with certainty: “Then it must not taste very good.”

Natalie asked confusedly: “Why do you say that?”

Anna said: “It has six eye-catching wings, but can’t fly. It’s so easy to catch but still not extinct, which means it’s really unpalatable.”
