Taken away

Even Shiori, who was unfamiliar with the way of this world, knew that this haughty knight would be a high-ranking person.

Definitely a noble.

And one at the top.

He looked older than Shiori, just like Krust, and the impression “Oh, this little monster!” he gave off, just grew. (TLN: 歳は詩織よりも年上でクラストと同じくらいに見えるが、『いいとこのお坊ちゃん』がそのまま成長したような印象だった. I did what I could with what I know. I’m sorry for my incompetence.)

His dull blonde and white skin, his strong eyes that looked childish somewhere.

“Say your name!”, the blond knight ordered, as if frustrated by Shiori, who was standing still.

They ruined the store and on top of it he was arrogant, Shiori’s blood rushed to her head a little. While avoiding to involuntarily speak in japanese, she tried to talk calmly with this world’s language.

“Who are you? What is it?”

Is it okay for knights to do this? When I look at the empty, lonely medicine shelf and the roughed up store, I feel sad and want to cry.

However, Shiori bore with it and stared at the blonde knight.

Since Roche isn’t here right now, I have no choice but to protect the shop by myself.

“Purpose, what? What are you going to do?”

“I ask the questions. Give me your name. What are you?”

“Why, it’s obvious that I’m this shop’s employee”

She returned with a strong tone while being a little confused. What else did it look like?

“employee?”

The blonde knight put his hand on his waist in a bossy attitude and whispered to another knight behind him.

“Did that woman said so?”

“No, only Roche Ghoul’s name is issued. Besides, Roche Ghoul himself didn’t say he had any other employees.”

“Well, I guess she was trying to protect herself. That woman simply didn’t know there was another employee…”

Shiori didn’t know what they were talking about or who the “That Woman” was referring to, but she reacted to her boss’s familiar name.

“Roche?-His whereabouts, you know !?”

However, as she said that, the blonde knight quickly grabbed Shiori’s arm. And he gave instructions to the other knights.

“There’s a high probability this one is also an accomplice. Let’s arrest her.”

Accomplice? Arrest?

She couldn’t believe she was subject to these terrible words, and Shiori’s face grew pale. She didn’t understand why, she was just confused.

However, when she got roughly pulled and was about to be taken away, Shiori snapped back.

I don’t know what these knights are saying, but I won’t let them catch me. I have to resist.

“Let me go!”

She forcibly pulled her arm out of the blonde knight’s hands and kept a distance from her opponent.

“Be quiet” saying so, he closed the distance little by little with an affordable attitude.

Shiori unconsciously searched for a way out and wandered her gaze. She noticed back door was halfway open, kicked the floor and ran out. Someone behind her——most likely, that blonde knight——clicked his tongue, annoyed.

She rolled out of the back door after kicking it with her body, but the sight that spread out before her eyes stopped Shiori’s escape.

“The herbs…”

It seems that it wasn’t just the store that was ruined. The knights’ footsteps remained in the small herb field in the backyard. The soil was devastated and miserable. Some herbs seemed to have been harshly pulled out only leaving open holes.

This field was Shiori’s oasis. Growing plants was a way for her to ease her life in a different world, and although it was exaggerated to say that it was like her own child, she had a certain attachment to the grown herbs.

It was in this state now.

Shivering with shock and anger, Shiori knelt down.

“Don’t think you can escape, thug.” words thrown from behind stabbed.

Shiori sat down and looked back, staring at the blond knight who had followed her out of the back door.

“I do not know the meaning. I want explanation.”

“I’ll do as much as I can in the prison. Come on.”

When she heard the word “prison”, her spine froze. The figure of the knight approaching to capture her was villainous and could not be seen as a very good ally of justice. But whether “knight” is good or evil, it should not be an enemy for Shiori now. (TLN: 今の詩織にとっては敵に変わりないのかもしれない, Google-san said “It may not be an enemy for Shiori now” but it sounded kind of strange giving the situation she’s in…)

“…!”

Afraid by the knight’s hand stretching out, Shiori grabbed and threw a small watering can that was rolling to her side.

Weakly sent, it flew at a slow speed towards the blonde knight, but fell to the ground just before hitting his face. The knight used his arm as a shield to prevent the watering can from hitting his face.

The expression of the knight who lowered his arms was rage with cold anger. Probably no one ever threw something at him.

“This……” with deep wrinkles between his eyebrows he muttered as if he spat.

The next moment, he was impatiently trying to capture Shiori.

“Kya!”

She was grabbed by both of her wrists and slammed down with her back on the ground. However, because it was a field, Shiori’s back only dug into soft soil.

“Don’t struggle!” he said but she couldn’t listen.

Shiori got even more violent as the blonde knight leaned on top.

Because both of her hands were stuck to the ground and could not budge, she moved her feet and flicked. But that messed up move turned into an unexpected attack.

—It hit a critical point of the lower body.

“………!” his sorrowful cry was muffled.

The other knights who came out in the backyard all at once seemed to be doing the same thing—even though they were not kicked, they felt the pain.

The blond knight, his eyes bulging out to the limit, wheezing from the deepest part of his throat, pressed his knees and forehead on the ground in agony. Both hands were joined to protect the crotch.

Shiori escaped from his restrain, saw the misery of her opponent and realized where she has kicked. He looked at her right knee, which would have hit “there”, with a long face as if it was a dirty thing.

It’s bad, but honestly she didn’t feel any guilt.

It was almost at the same time that Shiori rose from the ground and the blonde knight was resurrected from hell. He still had cold sweat, and cursed Shiori with rage,

“Damned you!”

“But, you started it…!”

They gazed at each other while maintaining a safe distance. She was cautiously watching for his footsteps, so when the knight tried to come from behind to restrain her, Shiori dodged as well. If the knight turned to the right, Shiori turned around to avoid the opponent.

The knights surrounding the two kept on watching them circling. But,

“Oi, why are you standing still? Help me!”

When the blonde knight ordered, Shiori was outnumbered. She was surrounded by knights and quickly got caught. The knight with the best physique twisted her arm from behind, and she screamed a little when it hurt her.

“Bound her with a rope” the blond knight gave his instructions with satisfaction when he saw Shiori was stuck.

“I did nothing! Arrested, odd!”

She desperately appealed, but that didn’t change anything.

Both of her hands were tied and she was taken away by the knights.

The carriage that they parked on the main street were not designed to carry people. A sober wagon that had a roof but no chairs and looked sturdy but unadorned.

Shiori was packed with bottles of medicine and documents collected by the knights from the store, herbs pulled out of the field, and so on. Both wrists were tied with rough ropes and restrained in front of the body.

Suddenly, the rattles and the carriages vibrated violently, probably because of the paved cobblestone road. Shiori didn’t sit but stood up leaning against the wall. Her bottom jumped up for a moment due to the vibrations, and collided again and again with the wagon’s floor made of a board until it hurt.

However, standing was also very hard. Shiori grabbed the carriage’s window—three square timbers in a square wooden frame and no glass—and caught her balance feeling like she was in a crowded train.

Outside the window, three knights were riding on horseback surrounding the carriage. The remaining knight seemed to be sitting on a pedestal.

When she stared at the blonde knight riding alongside the carriage, he peeked at her with a piercing glance, “Stay quiet, criminal”

What the hell is it …? Why am I getting caught? What will happen next?

Shiori’s chest, was filled with anxiety and tension, to the point that it wouldn’t be a surprise if it was about to burst.

Remembering the conversations the knights had at the store, there was little information available from them. But did the fact Roche’s name appeared meant that he was also caught by the knights?

Did Roche do something, and I was caught too?

Shiori thought so and shook her head.

Even if he looks like it, he shouldn’t be a criminal. I have to believe in Roche.

But if Roche did nothing, I still don’t know why they captured us.

Suddenly the expression “false charges” came to her mind. It floated in black letters and distorted quickly melting like mud. Shiori’s face turned blue.

Even in Japan false charges have occurred, and unrelated people were punished. In this country, which was somewhat behind Japan in various parts, of course, it can happen.

Is there fair inquiry here? Are the human rights of suspects and criminals protected? Don’t tell me there’s torture…

Thinking so, Shiori shivered. Cold sweat sliding down her forehead.

Contrary to Shiori’s desire to escape from this situation, the carriage went steadily forward.

And arrived where Shiori had come several times——the royal castle.
