Just before anyone raised their hands, Drake quickly looked at some of the kids with a meaningful glare. Seeing his intimidating glare, they gulped as their gaze dropped.
Damien noticed Drake trying to spook up the kids and knew what he was trying to do.
Some of the kids already had their hands up with excited expressions, not minding Drake's glare. But they were not at all the majority, and the rest wanted to lift their hands, but feeling Drake's glare, their hands shook.
Damien looked at everyone and said, "Everyone, remember that no matter who you vote for, your vote should carry the choices your heart made. If you don't listen to your heart, then you are lying to yourself, giving an opportunity for inner demons to take control of your heart. Don't worry about anything or anyone. As long as I am your teacher, there won't be any troubles."
Drake snorted, hearing his words while all the children nodded, and some of them had hesitant expressions pondering on Damien's words.
Triton narrowed his eyes as he could guess what was happening here. He saw how badly all of them wanted to raise their hands, but for a certain reason, they hesitated as they bit their lips.
Slowly, one by one, the children started raising their hands, and soon enough, the majority of the class had their hands raised.
Drake gritted his teeth, and his expression became ugly as he glowered at the kids as if they betrayed him and humiliated him.
Damien had a satisfied smile on his face and looked at Drake, "Now, are you convinced that being older does not necessarily beget wisdom and knowledge? It's okay to be arrogant about your knowledge, but you need to back it up."
Triton nodded approvingly, "Well said. Indeed, one's age can't dictate how much knowledge and wisdom they possess."
He looked at Drake, who had an embittered expression, "Drake, your knowledge is not inferior or anything. But for teaching these kids, Damien is just more suitable. I will assign you to a different class, so don't worry too much about it, and also it would be good if you could also learn some good things from Damien."
Drake grumpily stood up, "No need, Master Triton. I will just handle the weapons training."
He slightly bowed and left the room with loud steps.
And the others who came to watch also left with astonished expressions and saw Damien in a new light.
Yara Haley sighed, "Seems like my elder brother still can't handle losses well."
However, her expression spirited up as she showed a thumbs up at Damien, "Damien, you are quite a cool teacher. I wish my alchemy teacher were like you. The only reason I am getting by is because of Valena. Without her, I would have failed alchemy for sure."
Triton, along with Shania and Yara Haley, walked towards the door as he said, "Damien, come here. I want to say something."
He looked at the children and said, "Everyone, stay in your seats. Master Damien would be back shortly, okay?"
"Okay!!!" Everyone shouted in excitement as Damien walked towards Triton with a chuckle.
Outside the classroom, Triton commended, "I admit your teaching is better than any alchemy teacher in the Xeton Ethereal Foundation. I heard the Ethereal Fairy is one of the alchemy teachers, or I might say your teacher. But I feel like you may be even better than her."
Damien smiled as he shook his head, "Although I hate to admit it, her teaching is on par with me even though her method of teaching is different. Her teachings are very clear and crisp. However, it is her knowledge that is more profound. I doubt there would be anyone who would find alchemy difficult when they are taught by her."
Triton raised one of his brows, "Seems like you have a very good opinion of her."
Damien raised his hands, "Don't think that I am viewing the Xetonian Princess in a favorable light. I just admire her teaching skills and knowledge. She is very sincere in teaching her disciples. Rest I have no idea what kind of a person she is."
"But she very well might be our enemy. You understand that, right? She holds too many secrets of the Xeton Empire. In fact, even common people know that her status is not simple as that of a princess." Triton said with a serious expression.
Yara Haley chimed in, "But what if Damien gets seduced by her or he seduces her? Hehe…"
Triton knitted his brows and said in a chiding tone, "Yara, don't joke like that."
"Ooops, sorry…" Yara Haley covered her mouth with a sorry expression.
However, Shania raised her brows when she observed Triton's expression.
Damien winced as he looked at Yara Haley, "Yes, you shouldn't smear my reputation. I don't go about seducing maidens even if they are princesses."

Triton squinted his eyes at Damien, "You have a lover? I thought you were into Valentina."
Shania said with an amused smile, "Damien, as expected, you seem to be very popular with the girls. I saw Valentina, and I can say that her beauty is as peerless as the Ethereal Fairy and even extremely talented as her. But to think that you already hooked her in. I wonder who your lover is."
Damien raised his hands, "Hold on a second. You guys are misunderstanding. Valentina is a very close friend, that's all. Is it wrong to spend time with your close friend?"
All three of them had an unconvinced expression as they narrowed their gazes at Damien.
But Valentina, who was resting on Yara Haley's arms, lowered her head.
'Phew, what's with these three?' Damien felt like he was being cornered.
"I don't why you guys are so interested in my love life. You know what, I better get back to class. Come, Talia." Damien quickly scooted off after taking Valentina into his hands.
Valentina climbed up towards Damien's shoulders and looked at him closely from the side. Despite how her heart tightens every time Damien says that she is just a close friend, her feelings for him wouldn't waver or falter in the least as she knew without him, there would never have been any color in her life.
Damien continued his class, and the children were curious about Valentina as they had never seen a mystical cat like her. They asked some questions about Valentina, like what kind of a species she was or where she was coming from, to which Damien vaguely answered as he himself had no idea.
They had noticed her before, but only now they got a good chance to ask questions.
After giving them an activity, Damien noticed that some of the kids weren't much spirited like the others and their faces were cold and expressionless. He realized that those kids must have recently undergone tragic events in their life and probably even witnessed some gruesome things.
He guessed that they must have been rescued, but their parents or somebody close must have died to save them. He wondered if the Forsaken rescued all the kids here or whether they were born here itself.
He speculated that it was probably the mix of both. However, he didn't know whether even the kids who seem happy on the outside are trying their best to hide their painful memories as that's what he was still doing to date, especially after coming to this world.
Seeing some of the cold expressions of some kids, he was reminded of himself in his previous life, when he was just like them right after Sofie died, shutting down all his emotions and locking away his heart, not opening up to anyone. And he stayed that way until one day he came upon a certain girl who slowly loosened those chains around his heart.
Despite threatening her in different ways to leave him alone, she never left his side and did everything she could to help him fulfill his vengeance.
Unfortunately, by the time he almost opened his heart to her, it was too late, and before he knew it, she was killed in front of him.
Only a few months after that did he die and awakened in this world.
