Blade Angel gestured at a few of the soldiers behind to take Nathasia away from Damien.

Nathasia unconsciously gripped Damien's shirt tighter while he tried to get up and fend off the soldiers, aggravating his injuries in the process.

One of the soldiers tried to grab Nathasia, but Damien elbowed his face and stabbed his stomach with his sword while kicking off another soldier who got too close.

Nathasia could feel how Damien's movements and sword swings were getting feebler by the minute.

She pressed hard against the spot where she was injured to make her mind more lucid and wiggled out of Damien's grip since she couldn't just do nothing and watch helplessly anymore.

"No…" Damien mumbled in a languid tone seeing Nathasia wriggling out of his hold, but he was too preoccupied to stop her.

Nathasia landed her feet on the ground but immediately kneeled as well since she was feeling too dizzy. Even if she was feeling excruciating pain, she was finding it hard to be conscious.

But she didn't waste this chance, and while Damien covered for her, she used all her strength and willpower as she placed her hand on the ground.

Nothing happened for a few seconds, but as she grimaced, more multiple-pointy spikes began to shoot out from the ground slowly, unlike how she could usually make them emerge fast.

But even if those spikes were not that big and were slow, it succeeded in piercing the feet of the men nearby who collapsed on the ground, howling in pain.

Blade Angel frowned, seeing how Nathasia was able to use her powers even after being so injured.

But he had no idea that Nathasia was feeling as if all the energy was sapped out of her body after using her powers.

Damien got the chance to quickly cut down the men who approached them as Nathasia made things way easier for him.

Blood dyed the ground near Damien and Nathasia as corpses littered around them, making for a whole gruesome sight.

Damien was covered in some blood from the men he killed as well. But he was barely standing and was using his sword as support. Nathasia was trying her best to catch her breath while kneeling on the ground.

However, as the two looked around, they still saw a number of soldiers surrounding them from all sides, and even large jeeps parked a few dozen meters away from them.

"How astonishing!" Blade Angel clapped again as he loudly said, "To take down all these men even with all those injuries and bullets in your body, I must admit I underestimated you two. But all you two did was for nothing since it is not going to change how you two are going to end up today."

Blade Angel then suddenly took out his subordinate's pistol and fired at Damien's other leg.

"Urk!" Damien's leg gave away as if that bullet was the final nail on the coffin.

"NO!!" Nathasia immediately crawled over to Damien and tried to hold him up so that he wouldn't fall on his back.

"Look at how weak and vulnerable you are, devil. Now it's time to wind up. Grab her, and if she resists, I will shoot him in the head!"

Nathasia's eyes widened upon hearing his malicious words, and as more soldiers came forward to grab her, Damien tried to resist, but they kicked him down and separated Nathasia from him easily since she didn't resist out of fear that Blade Angel might shoot Damien.

"Nathasia…" Damien mumbled as he tried to get up and get towards her. But he was kicked in the stomach, and even his sword fell out from his hands. With all the pain from his severe injuries, he was hardly able to stay conscious, especially with how he continued to bleed.

And thinking about her being taken away before him made him feel a stabbing sensation in his heart while being angry at himself.

Nathasia already saw how Blade Angel despicably shot Damien twice without even fighting him.

She glared at Blade Angel with a dark expression as she was brought before him and made to kneel before him.

She felt that everyone was blind to know who the true devil was here and that his name was nothing but ironic.

"So, you young lady...I never expected to come upon a devil lover like you. Tell me...what made you fall in love with the most hated monster in the world? Did he already corrupt you with his darkness?" Blade Angel asked in an amused yet calm tone as he slowly unsheathed his sword and rested it against his shoulder.

Nathasia didn't get intimidated by his gaze and spat on him as she said with gritted teeth, "It's not something...a demon like you can understand. You are no angel...but the vilest devil out there."

Blade Angel snorted and slapped her, after which he dusted his white gloves, "What a pity. You had the potential to become a hero to the people. But now it seems like you have been completely corrupted as expected. Now I have no choice but to send you to where you belong."

He made her turn around in Damien's direction and placed his sword on her neck.

"Make him focus please...I am sure he wouldn't want to miss this…" Blade Angel ordered his men, who pulled up Damien and pressed on his injuries to make him more lucid.

The stinging sensation on his injuries made his mind clear up a bit, and as he kneeled on the ground, his eyes widened as he saw Nathasia kneeling on the ground with a sword placed near her neck.

"What...no...you get you away...from her!" Damien said in a biting tone as his hands clenched and unclenched.

His killing intent began to seep out from his eyes as they flooded towards Blade Angel, who felt his heart-gripping in terror under Damien's gaze.

But then he shook his head, wondering why he was getting scared of a tattered and defeated person who did not even have powers anymore.

"I am afraid I can't follow through with your request. But let this she-devil be an example to everyone...about what happens when someone associates with the Crimson Devil. This is an execution! I am doing God's bidding here as his right-hand angel. Any last words?"

The world around Nathasia began to grow silent, and only Damien was present within her vision. Tears trickled down her face knowing what was going to happen to her and how she might not even see him ever again.

So she said with a soft smile, "Damien…"

Damien's eyes were reddened, and hearing her soft voice, he looked towards her with an expression of devastation but was trying to listen to what she was about to say as well.

She continued, "You are not a devil...you remember the painting I gave you, right? You will always be that man in my heart...because I love you…"

"How touching!" Blade Angel sighed as he raised his sword and brought it down upon her neck.

Nathasia saw Damien howling in rage as he tried to shrug off the soldiers around him but soon her vision became dark, and her surroundings faded...including Damien's face.

"No...I want to see him again! I can't die like this!" But no matter how much she screamed and cried, she felt as if she was floating in a pool of darkness.

However, suddenly she felt as if she was lying on something soft and cushy as a pleasant fragrance wafted through her nostrils.

"Where am I...wait...this place...it can't be!"
