And if they happen to get close to the barrier, they would feel very nauseous and dizzy, making them turn around and go back to get rid of the uncomfortable feeling.
This was actually a protective mechanism of the cloaking barrier to prevent any curious cultivators from barging in and finding out that something was stopping them from entering a certain area even if there seemed to be nothing before them.
The Forsaken base was situated in a very far and inconspicuous corner of the Xeton Empire, where people won't even wander into, since the lands were basically dead with nothing of value in the area.
And all Irene could see was the vast yet empty sandy plains around her without a soul in sight. She wondered if Damien made a mistake or something, but the fact that she couldn't sense the presence of the ancient god was indeed alarming, and the fact that the emperor might know about their location still left her unsettled.
