“Sorry.”

Adelaide apologized with her face flushed red. She was astounded by the fact that she moved her own body to check his condition. She must have gone crazy for a moment there.

Besides, what was she doing right now in such a serious situation? Caladi disappeared, and tomorrow was also the day of the dungeon masters’ meeting. She bit her lip and cursed herself.

“Huu…….”

Lisianthus sighed. His desire to take her right away boiled like molten iron in his heart. He wanted to kiss her pretty eyes and her cute nose.

If he just pushed a little more, Adelaide, who was weak to temptation, would surely fall for it. It would be thrilling if he kissed her here and there, and then grabbed her by the waist and shoved something hot inside her.

“Then, shall we go to bed now?”

But Lisianthus did not tempt her further. He smiled neatly as if nothing had happened and took a step back.

He was a demon who knew when to retreat. There was one truth he had learned over the course of several hundred years, and it was that nothing good would come out of behaving impatiently. If you do not persevere to be patient and fall to temptation, you are likely to mess everything up in a split second. Therefore Lisianthus had to endure. Unless the only thing he wanted were the pleasures of the flesh.

Adelaide nodded her head and held his hand again. As expected, unlike Lupinus, Lisianthus knew up to how far he should go.

However, if she had looked into his head, she wouldn’t have dared think of such.

* * *

The next morning, Adelaide got up early to check whether Caladium had returned home. Unfortunately, Caladium had not come back. The sofa he loved was empty and lonely, and there was only a chilling cold in his room.

Her heart had also become sad but she didn’t show it. As Lisianthus advised, worrying about it won’t change anything. Moreover, she had to be more dignified as the owner of Greenville. Especially on an important day like today.

Adelaide, having eaten everything from breakfast to lunch, changed her clothes, went back to her room then came out. It was time for them to go to Esperanza.

“Guys, how do I look today?”

She asked as she twirled around.

Many demons had gathered in the living room after a long time. Lupinus, the Skeletons, Bell, the Durahans, and even Pia. You could say that all the first generation members had gathered. It would have been nice if the second generation members were also here, but she couldn’t do that for fear of revealing Lupinus’ identity.

“Wow, Adela! You look so cool!”

“Adela is the best!”

“Adelaide, you look even more beautiful and stronger today.”

The demons clapped their hands and praised her. Since Caladium was not here, there was no demon who argued with her over nothing. Adelaide was deeply saddened by that fact, but still she smiled, thanking them.

“Really stylish, Adela.”

Lupinus smiled and raised his thumb up.

“Yes, I like it too. Lisian made these clothes for me.”

Lupinus’ face quickly became cold at her added words. “I shouldn’t have complimented you.” He grumbled briefly.

Either way, she really liked her look today. A white shirt that was moderately baggy, black leather pants that went up to the waist, and a nice cloak over it matched it like a set.

A sword even hung around her waist. This was a special A-Class reward thanks to Bell when they reached C-Class. It looked like a sword but it was actually a whip. It changes in length and thickness as she wants.

It was quite different from the outfits she usually wore but Adelaide thought she looked pretty cool right now. She also felt pretty strong. At least it wasn’t an outfit that would be ignored anywhere.

“But why did Lisianthus cover his face?”

Bell tilted his head and asked. As he said, Lisianthus was wearing a mask that covered half of his face. Adelaide didn’t ask because she thought he had his own concept, but deep inside, she was curious.

“Because I don’t want to stand out.”

The answer was very simple. Adelaide nodded her head because it was a convincing reason. Seriously, with his looks, he would definitely stand out. The other dungeon masters might covet him so covering his face was a good call.

Bell, on the other hand, continued to tilt his head from one side, then the other, seemingly unable to understand. Growing up among handsome men since his childhood, he didn’t understand how he would stand out.

“Well, shall we go?”

Adelaide declared their departure in an imposing voice.

“Take care of Greenville while we’re away guys.”

“Don’t worry, be safe!”

The demons waved their hands to the three leaving. After Raham kissed Pia lightly on the face, Adelaide entered the portal to Esperanza.

They had to ride a ladybug until Goldiberg. Adelaide, who had a history of being beaten by a ladybug, was very nervous, but the one she met this time was the kindest ladybug she had ever seen. It did not threaten her viciously, nor did it drive recklessly. Unfortunately, there was no way to escape the stench from its back.

‘Urgh, I should have had a light lunch……!’

Adelaide struggled to suppress the rising nausea. She looked around and Raham seemed to be in a similar state. Even though she couldn’t see his face, she could now roughly infer his mood and state.

On the other hand, Lisianthus, with a half-covered face, didn’t show it at all, so she didn’t know.

Since Esperanza was such a large area, it took quite a while just to fly to their destination. Still, they left early, so it didn’t seem like they would be late.

“Oh, over there! Ladybug, drop us off over there!”

“Kwiik.”

How can its voice be so soft unlike the ladybugs in Sarman? Adelaide smiled happily, thinking she should tip.

Not long after that, the ladybug landed softly. Adelaide got off its back and rummaged through her pockets to pay the bill. And the moment she was about to hand it money, she noticed something strange about it.

‘The shape of that antennae. Isn’t it just like the ladybug I first met at Sarman?’

The two curved shapes were exactly the same. When she realized this, goosebumps rose all over her body. This ladybug was the ladybug back then!

My goodness, how despicable. They said that the world is full of the strong and the weak, but this is close to a dual personality, or is it better to say a dual bug personality? Her body trembled and in her heart, denounced the vicious ladybug in front of her. Of course, she still didn’t have the courage to openly swear.

“Adele, what’s wrong?”

Lisianthus came over and paid the fee instead. Quite generously even. The ladybug let out a Kwiik-Kwiik cry of satisfaction, and then flew back into the sky.

“No, it’s just a little hot…… ”

Adelaide shook her head. She couldn’t dare tell him about her own pathetic past. Because she should only look cool to her subordinates. Well I’ve already shown a lot of my ugly sides, but Adelaide quickly erased the memories of her pitiful self from her mind.

“Goldiberg is the hottest place in Esperanza. So, I made clothes that could be worn as lightly as possible…….”

So why did you choose that? Lisianthus suppressed his words. Of course, he also made it with the thinnest fabric possible, but how cool would it have been if she had chosen a checkered shirt?

“Yeah, you told me yesterday. I’m okay. I still think this is better than a checkered shirt.”

“I’d rather be hot.” Adelaide said, killing him twice.

Lisianthus was drenched in the feeling that his taste was being shredded.

“If it’s R-3…… I think it’s over there.”

Raham checked the location on the invitation and pointed to a large building. As he said, the word R-3 was written on the towering walls of the building.

They walked through the desert-like terrain towards the building. With every step she took, the sweltering heat warmed her body. Adelaide should’ve just worn the checkered outfit Lisianthus recommended. She regretted it for a moment, but didn’t say it out loud. If that happened, Lisianthus might get excited and fill the dungeon with checkered patterns.

“Kaeaeaeaek!”

“Oh my god! That scared me!”

They heard a loud cry that sounded like it was going to break their ears. Adelaide was startled and let out a scream.

As they approached, wondering where the sound was coming from, they saw a group of monsters tied tightly around the building. Monsters with large wings, a snake-like tail, sharp claws and teeth. Wyverns.

Wyverns had a similar appearance to that of dragons, but were much smaller in size and lacked forelimbs, and were naturally much weaker in strength. However, the speed of their flight was not inferior to dragons. They were said to be difficult to catch because of how fast they were.

Because of this particularity, Wyverns were mainly used as a mount for strong demons. Just like the ladybug before. However, if the ladybug was a kind of merchant who provided transportation and received money, the Wyverns were captured and enslaved to be forcibly used as a means of flight. A slave who was thoroughly oppressed at a very high price.

A wyvern’s feet would have strong magical shackles, and if the wyvern attempts to escape or disobeys its master’s orders, the magic will be activated and it will feel excruciating pain. If the owner wishes, he can even let him die straight away.

“Why are there wyverns here—”

Adelaide stopped talking and remained silent. Why else would incredibly rare wyverns be tied around the R-3 building? It meant that their owners were inside.

‘It’s so hot, they’re not in the shade, but under the scorching sun…….’

They were monsters with good physical strength so they wouldn’t die or get sick like this, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t feel the extreme heat. She clenched her fists, looking at the half-fainted weeping wyverns. Although she had come fully prepared, her heart was pounding with anger before she could even get to the meeting point. Raham also gritted his teeth, struggling at the scene reminiscent of his past in a cage.

“Master. It’s time for us to go in.”

“Yes, wait a minute.”

Adelaide gave a brief reply, and then slowly closed her eyes. Lisianthus realized what she was trying to do, and frowned slightly.

‘Water.’

She wished for clear water. Cold water that can cool you down a little bit in this heat.

Then something amazing happened. A stream of water gushed out of her white hand. Adelaide did not seem surprised. She quickly filled her hands with water and held it out to a wyvern.

The wyvern glared at her with a wary eye then slowly drank it as if it had lost its strength. The other Wyverns were the same.
