The inside of the car suddenly fell into silence. Only the evening breeze and the faint roar of the engine came from outside the window.

Xu Xinghe was stunned for a moment, and suddenly asked from a clear angle: “How come you even know that the Ark has two weeks of marriage leave?”

Ling Changfeng paused and pushed his adjutant out in a hurry. “Qin Yuan said so. He’s urging me to use up this vacation early.”

Xu Xinghe said curiously, “You also have… honeymoon leave?”

Marshal Ling looked sideways, silently looking at his little spouse,

He actually didn’t have that much vacation, but this did not prevent him from nodding his face without changing his face. “En.”

Xu Xinghe asked again: “How long?”

Ling Changfeng continued: “It’s also two weeks.”

Xu Xinghe tangled: “Our marriage is fake, right? Isn’t it okay to let it go?”

Of course it’s a good thing to have a vacation, but going out for a honeymoon with Ling Changfeng?? It feels weird…

Ling Changfeng heard the words, his pupils slanted, and his tone was a little indifferent: “Well it’s okay to let it go. But the whole two weeks of paid leave, isn’t it a loss to not go?”

Xu Xinghe: “…” It’s a huge loss!

Ling Changfeng made persistent efforts and continued to seduce him calmly: “If you go with me, you can choose the place, and the whole trip can be reimbursed.”

Xu Xinghe was moved.

He thought for a moment, then raised his head: “Why don’t I wait until I finish the work at hand…”

“Then?”

“Then wait for me to use up the vacation for this team building…”

Ling Changfeng looked at him blankly, as if he didn’t quite understand why his little spouse felt that it was okay to let the honeymoon vacation go, but he refused to miss this kind of team building opportunity.

He learned the tone of Xu Xinghe just now, and asked neither lightly nor seriously: “Is it possible to not go on this kind of team building trip?”

“Ah?” This time Xu Xinghe was stunned and stammered, “But, but these five days off, it’s a big loss if you don’t have to take it away.”

Then he continued to add: “Ark’s team building is generally very good. And everyone has definitely been working hard on this project this time. Okay?”

Xu Xinghe may not have realized it himself, but his black eyes were bright, with a little anticipation for the upcoming trip. Seeing those surging emotions, Ling Changfeng couldn’t refuse at all.

“En.” The light in his eyes softened a bit, but Ling Changfeng’s tone remained the same. “Then I’ll wait for you to come back.”

Xu Xinghe smiled, and comfortably lay back in his seat. “OK, then when everything is over, we can discuss the two weeks of honeymoon leave.”

Him saying that was basically an agreement, and Marshal Ling nodded contentedly. “Good.”

In the next few days, Xu Xinghe worked overtime as the norm, and he would not be home until after nine o’clock almost every night.

Because of this, Ling Changfeng lost his desire to go home early, and simply copied him to work overtime.

This made Adjutant Qin Yuan very depressed.

At first, Major General Qin didn’t know about Xu Xinghe’s overtime work, and he was still wondering why his own boss was suddenly not in a hurry to go home.

If it weren’t for the fact that Ling Changfeng seemed to be in a good mood, and his expression was the same as usual, he would have suspected that the two of them were in conflict, and deliberately avoiding each other in a cold war.

However, on Friday night, when Ling Changfeng was about to stay in the Double Star Building again and rely on nutritional supplements for dinner, Qin Yuan finally couldn’t help asking, “Sir, as your most loyal and reliable deputy, do you mind if I ask what happened in your private life recently?”

Ling Changfeng lifted his eyelids and glanced at him with his naturally indifferent eyes. “You have an appointment tonight? If you have something to do, go back first.”

Qin Yuan immediately clasped his fists and said: “Thanks a lot, then I’ll leave first.”

After walking a few steps, he turned back.

Ling Changfeng looked up at him.

Qin Yuan spread his hands and said frankly: “Well, I don’t really have anything to do tonight, I just want to go home early… But I thought about it, even if I go back early, the root cause isn’t treated. I still have to be concerned about why you suddenly changed – didn’t you say a while ago that you must leave work at six o’clock every day barring any emergencies?”

Ling Changfeng opened his mouth, just wanted to say “you don’t need to care about this”, but he didn’t say anything, and suddenly thought of something else.

“Honeymoon—” He raised his eyes calmly, locking onto his adjutant, and said calmly, “My honeymoon vacation, how did you arrange it?”

Qin Yuan’s mouth instantly opened into a large O shape: “Huh??”

He stared at his own boss for two seconds in shock. “Do you have such a thing as a honeymoon leave?”

“There is now.” Ling Changfeng said indifferently, his tone irrefutable.

Qin Yuan: “…”

He wanted to say something else, but Ling Changfeng was one step ahead of him: “Didn’t you agree at the gathering a while back?”

Qin Yuan swallowed hard under the gaze of his commanding officer. He scratched his head and said, “How can the words at the dining table be taken seriously? And I didn’t say no to helping, but this period of time hasn’t been very peaceful…”

The mismatched pupils narrowed slightly.

Qin Yuan suddenly lost his voice, and raised his hand in surrender. “Okay, I’ll arrange it! When are you going to go on your honeymoon?” Then he started flipping through the electronic itinerary. “Then you have to work harder during this time. A lot of work can’t be postponed, and can only be handled in advance.”

Ling Changfeng nodded slightly. “You arrange it.”

Then his slender fingertips tapped on the table a few times, and asked again: “What’s the matter? You have a suitable honeymoon location to recommend?”

Qin Yuan thought for a while. “This also depends on your personal preferences. Do you want to go to a lively and bustling scenic spot, or a quiet and secret private island?”

He stretched out another finger and added: “From a safety point of view, I recommend the latter. Because some famous scenic spots are crowded with people, and it is difficult to control traffic… However, if Xinghe really wants to go, it is not impossible. At worst, we’ll have to strengthen deployment of the surrounding security force. There’s always ways to solve this. You should go back and ask him for his opinion.”

Ling Changfeng nodded: “Okay, I understand.”

“So why are you leaving work so late these days? Because Xinghe is also late?” Qin Yuan finally realized the problem.

“En, he has been working overtime recently.” There was a trace of emotion in Ling Changfeng’s voice.

Qin Yuan leaned sideways to the desk of his boss, turned his head, and smiled with a bit of ridicule. “Now that the house is deserted, it’s boring to go back alone, isn’t it?”

Ling Changfeng looked at him with no expression on his face. “So I don’t quite understand, why are you so active in leaving work every day?”

Qin Yuan: “…”

He straightened up, tidied up his collar, and then walked away solemnly: “This subordinate will leave first.”

——

There is a small forest on the south side of the Ark for employees to relax and unwind. In the midst of autumn, the cobblestones are paved with maple leaves.

The Third and Sixth Groups worked overtime on the Thunder Engine Project and finally completed the plan before the deadline.

The test was successful and the program ran smoothly.

That night, Mr. Liang invited guests and set up a few tables to celebrate in a high-end restaurant next to the Ark.

The members of the two groups, plus a few department heads, a total of about 30 people attended the banquet. The crowd gathered together, and the scene was very lively.

The original promise not to drink alcohol became empty talk.

However, because they had to go to work the next day, most of them restrained themselves. In the end, only a few people drank.

Xu Xinghe even used fruit juice instead of wine from start to finish. He didn’t drink a drop of alcohol, and was ridiculed by his colleagues for being good all of a sudden.

XXH finally learns not to drink! Probably lingering phobia given his past experiences with drinking.
