The sword was dull and blunt. It was a black-colored sheath and looked very ominous. And there was a reason for its ominous aura.

The sword had many requirements to be fulfilled and then only it will release its true power. Blood was an important factor in it.
But I was oblivious of those requirements.

Walking toward the dungeon, I encountered many monsters and I slayed them without any hesitation. But I took a lot of time to kill even rank monsters.
My movements were stiff, rough, and rigid. I was able to put to this only because, my title [God of War] gave me all information about the monsters I fought, such as their strengths, weaknesses, defense, and overall power.
Their names, bloodlines, and races were also in that guide-like thing.
It was helpful and I was using it to the fullest.
After some time my movements became a little better.
While collecting those monster cores I saw a wolf growling at me. The stats of that particular wolf were different and I saw a message at the bottom.

Gaugin the wolf I noticed that the wolf was big, with grey-colored fur, and cross-black eyes. Baring its fangs at me it was gauging my strength.
I calmly looked at the wolf.
'I think I should release my demonic energy.'
I released my demonic energy but I kept the previous appearance of a human.
Once my strength passed through my body once again, I no longer feared the beast in front of me.
"Ha!"
Not giving the wolf the chance to attack I carried out my sword skills and with the guidance of [God of War], I saw all of its weak points.
But to my surprise, the wolf dodged, parried, and even countered my attacks with its claws.
'So this an alpha huh?'
This was the first time I fought an alpha.
I swung my sword at its neck and heart. I tried to slash, but its fur was like iron armor and my blunt sword was not getting through it.
Back on earth, I was never required to fight for survival in literal.
Although I had strength and knowledge this was my first time doing so.
The wolf wasn't idle either. It was menacing, attacking my head, heart, and limbs. I had to follow the guide otherwise, I would've died without even knowing.
So we continued to fight for some time.

I got the amount of practice I wanted, so I decided to fight like a demon.
Sheathing my sword, I looked at the beast in front of me.
It had a provoking face.

The dire wolves had iron-hard fur all over their body except for the neck region.
Because of that, most beasts while fighting target their neck. However, the dire wolves were not dumb. They used to fall their prey for such an obvious trap and then using their super agility, they snap their prey in a second or so.

I had a hunch that my sword will get something once I gave it the blood, but nothing happened or I did not notice.
Stepping on its face I cut open its skull and took the monster's core.

The wolf's eyes were like it was wronged, but to whom can it complain?
