The town's healer was a young man in his early 30s.

He had a calm demeanor and was not even remotely surprised to see a severely tortured Lohar on Kyle's back.

Maybe he had seen a lot of dying people that needed to be saved…maybe all he ever saw were injured and sick people that needed help…Kyle didn't know for sure.

The partially healed wounds on the Lohar's body had torn open.

,m Kyle had walked with him on his back for two hours after all.

The paste and the potion were mere first-aid to keep the wounds from festering.

Luckily, the bleeding was not that bad.

After inspecting the injuries, the healer got to work and cut open the cloth bandages methodically.

He was at the peak of the Fortification stage and didn't even have to pay his complete attention to work.

His fingers could feel the slightest difference in the texture so he engaged in small talk.

"The wound was very well tended, and the Lohar seems to have more energy reserves left within him than I would've expected.

He should survive!"

Hearing this was great, and Kyle nodded his head thankfully before stepping back.

Kyle was impressed with the healer's skill at work.

Thus, he quickly activated his Nurture ability with a single soul particle to observe the healer.

He was curious to see what made him so special.

Somehow, the Nurture ability seemed to have a hidden effect.

It could be used to figure out certain secrets of other people just by looking at them.

Kyle found this to be an added advantage. It allowed him to see that the young healer had a faint light affinity which was exactly as everyone said.

Even though rumors were mostly false, this one seemed to be feasible.

'Having an affinity while only being at the Fortification stage... He is quite lucky!' Kyle thought.

He could immediately recall that the chance of awakening an affinity seed while breaking into a new cultivation stage was higher than the random awakening of an affinity seed.

Those affinity seeds were innate affinities that were inherently strong. In most cases, they could grow with the host which made them so strong.

However, in the young healer's case, Kyle noticed that he was unable to nurture his affinity seed.

Something seemed to be wrong about it.

Probably, a specific requirement had to be fulfilled for the young man to enhance his affinity.

Nevertheless, that was not important right now.

A faint, aromatic scent permeated the air bringing Kyle out of his thoughts.

It radiated from the young healer's healing ability that was utilized to heal the severely tortured Lohar.

Only 10 minutes passed before the young man seemed to be done.

His forehead shone with beads of sweat trickling down his forehead.

"My part is done. He won't die anymore!"

He remarked while wiping away the sweat with his sleeve.

Kyle nodded his head, and was about to pick up the Lohar who was still unconscious when the healer suddenly added,

"That will be 2000 Pryr crystals at the lowest quality!"

Somehow, Kyle had expected this scenario.

Yet, giving out the hard-earned money for someone he didn't even know the name of, made him feel bad.

'Will I be reimbursed for this expense?' He asked himself while accessing one of his spatial pouches.

Taking out the amount and type of cultivation crystals as asked, he handed them to the healer before picking up the unconscious Lohar.

Carrying him on his back once again, Kyle left the healer while grumbling to himself.

'I doubt that Dirk had to pay much for Nina's injury…'

Sighing, he was only glad that his funds had been enough to cope with the expenses.

Now, the only issue was what to do with the Lohar.

"Can't we leave the Lohar with the town's Guild master? She is a Lohar too!" Selene suddenly asked.

Kyle readily agreed to her because he had been thinking the same.

He didn't want to take the Lohar to the Jars.

The Lohar was a complete stranger, after all, and he might be dangerous to them.

Furthermore, the Lohar was not his problem.

Having tended to the Lohar's wounds was already more than enough for someone who was a stranger to the town.

So, bringing him to the Guildhall could be compared to being an extra service.

Thus, Kyle and Selene walked towards the Guildhall.

On the way, he accessed the spatial rings in order to see how much profit he had made with the Nasga's corpses.

Ignoring the town people's gazes had already become second nature to the two adventurers.

They entered the Guildhall, only to look at the reception that was void of cultivators right now.

Only two young women were currently working.

When they saw Kyle with an injured Lohar on his back, they were immediately reminded about Gaby.

They had seen her carrying a Nasga like Kyle.

"I want to sell some corpses and equipment," Kyle stated in a clear voice before the two female receptionists could say anything.

Only a moment later he added, "And I want to know where I can leave the Lohar?"

Kyle waited for a few seconds as the two women merely blinked and looked at him.

He looked at them without receiving an answer to his question or request.

As such, he could only sigh, seeing their eyes that shone with a tinge of fear.

"I guess you two have already seen the Nasga, and Gaby. Should I just walk upstairs too?"

However, even then Kyle didn't receive an answer.

But he took that in affirmative.

With that being said, he and Selene turned to their left before walking towards the stairs.

They ignored the two female receptionists who had regained their senses the moment Kyle took a step towards the second floor.

"Wait! You are not allowed to go upstairs!!"

'Now it's too late...act professional, will you…' Kyle cursed inwardly, thinking that the receptionists were just being fussy.

It was not hard to tell him that when he had asked after all.

Thus, he walked upstairs, only to shout.

"Gaby! I brought the Lohar with me!"

He simply ignored etiquette right now, and rushed through the hallway on the second floor.

It was there that he spotted Gaby, and the fiery Lohar.

They were leaving a room that was at the far end of the floor and were annoyed to see him.

Both the ladies were staring daggers at him.

"Don't you know that it's forbidden to enter the second floor?" An angry voice rang through the hall.

It was the voice of the fiery Lohar, Laila.

She asked him in a threatening tone while releasing faint mana currents.

Kyle tried to ignore this as he gently laid the Lohar in front of him in a sitting position.

He propped his head up, resting against the wall.

"I just wanted to bring someone to you, don't bother about me!"

With that, Kyle just raised both his hands in surrender.

He was about to turn around and leave, only to hear the same loud voice, "Stop there! I didn't allow you to leave!!"

Hearing this, Kyle could only sigh inwardly as he turned back to face the town's Guild master.

"Is there something I can do for you, Guild master?" He asked with a faint smile on his face.

But it was evidently fake which caused Gaby to smile dryly.

She was about to say something, only for Laila to intervene.

"How were you able to convince Gaby to leave the town and hunt with you? She never left the Guildhall in three long years. And now such an accident happened, merely two times after she left the town!"

Laila said the last line while pointing to the unconscious Lohar on the floor.

Kyle hadn't expected such a question, and his gaze was subconsciously averted to Gaby.

'She didn't tell her about my ability? That's unexpected!'

Laila noticed that Kyle was astonished, and did not want to beat around the bush.

Thus, she sighed before glaring at her friend.

"This friend of mine didn't want to say anything about you, but I can tell that she is slowly regaining her eyesight!"

It would be weird to not notice the glint of life in Gaby's eyes.

And, it was not hard to deduce that it had appeared only after a major change.

The former guard captain had gone out to hunt with Kyle.

Because of that, Laila was able to connect the dots.

It could help her comprehend possible reasons for Gaby to overcome her past trauma and step out of her comfort zone.

Gaby had gone out to hunt with two young adventurers at the lowest cultivation ranks.

However, that was exactly what confused Kyle.

'If she knows the reason for Gaby to go hunting with us, why would she ask me then?'

With that thought, he assumed that Laila would add something, or ask another question, but that didn't happen.

The Guildmaster approached Kyle and Selene and switched her attention to the Lohar on the floor.

She bent down and picked him up rather crudely.

"Either way, I don't really care what you do, but it's good that you are helping Gaby regain her eyesight. I can also understand that you don't want to be involved in the mess that might await us.

You can leave now!"

Laila was truly odd. She asked him not a single question about the Lohar and simply asked him to leave.

But Kyle wouldn't complain about it.

Before she could change her mind, he turned around to hear her say,

"Little girl, pay attention to yourself. Most anomalies are treated badly by our race!"

This line was directed at Selene, who didn't say anything in response.

She had gone eerily silent since they had met Vila town's Guildmaster.

In the end, she just nodded her head, before turning around, while biting her lower lip.

Kyle scratched the back of his head upon seeing this and turned around too.

While he was walking downstairs, he faintly heard the Guildmaster mumbling to herself,

"I hope all of this was only a coincidence...I liked the peace we had for three years!"

That was all he could hear as he reached downstairs. The two receptionists looked at him with doubt.

The moment they had noticed Laila and her mana currents, the two young women had retreated.

Fearing her wrath, they had decided to transfer all the blame to Kyle if something were to happen.

Fortunately, that was not the case. Kyle without the injured Lohar and Selene next to him looked fine.

The young Lohar's mood seemed to be low. Sensing that, Kyle could only pat her head as she suddenly asked him.

"What exactly does she mean by anomaly? I could sense a deeper meaning to her words, but I don't know what the Lohar race considers an anomaly….am I one?"

It was evident that Kyle didn't know the exact answer as well. But, given the little information he understood, he tried his best to help.

"If I'm not wrong, the Lohar race is relatively traditional and focused on the cultivation path of strength. As such, they don't like changes and those that are different.

This may vary, but you are an extraordinary case because you have awoken two cultivation veins at once.

Meanwhile, the Vila town's Guildmaster must have awoken the cultivation veins for mana instead of the Pryr cultivation vein!"

Selene felt a little bit better hearing this.

However, Kyle's next line made her feel as if her worries had completely dispersed.

"You did nothing wrong, alright? Discriminating against your own kind just because you're much better than them can also be called envy.

If a Lohar ever criticizes or insults you about the color of your fur or the fact that you can cultivate in the path of Pryr and Maest, just remember that they're envious, and absolute idiots!!"
