510 Watch my dance of war

In a moment of shock, the assassins temporarily stopped and looked at each other to determine if their eyes were working correctly. They never imagined there wasn’t going to be a tiny flame from so many Molotovs thrown.

“What the hell is happening?”

“How can plan B not work too?”

“Did you see the green light, or are my eyes playing tricks on me?”

Three assassins questioned as their eyes couldn’t believe what they saw.

The sure way plan to kill Vincent didn’t work. Not even the slightest.

Plan A and Plan B were two plans made to assassinate their target with over ninety percent success rate. But both of them mysteriously failed.

Plan C was their only choice now because they didn’t have any more traps or plans prepared in advance remaining.

Plan C consisted of using their strength in numbers to overwhelm their target and kill him. It was to fight and kill their target at all costs.

.....

The assassination plan didn’t halt for too long as two words shouted by a man’s voice made a horrible sound and sight.

“Earth Shard!” Was what all the assassins heard before one of the assassins was impaled by a sharp rock projectile. The lifeless body was knocked off the roof with a trail of blood following him.

“There is only one mage!” Said one of the two remaining assassins on the roof.

“Let’s attack before he can...” *Whoosh* A fast and pointy projectile flew for his head with sharp accuracy.

The assassin was impaled by a pointy stick and killed instantly *Thud* his body slammed to the ground causing the other assassins to hasten the assassination plan.

The resistance was making the kill and run impossible. The longer it took to kill Vincent, the more chances for the soldiers to arrive and protect the target on their hit list.

The butler protecting the horse was weakened and injured. He was heavily scratched from daggers, and his body felt less responsive.

The butler lost his focus for a moment when he heard his lord use a spell. In that short time window, the assassins took advantage by attacking simultaneously and stabbing the butler.

The butler fell to the ground, yet the wounds weren’t in vital areas. It was possible that he wasn’t dead yet.

The three assassins saw the second butler about to sneak on the roof and attack their assassin comrade. They rushed to the butler, but as they passed by the horse, their daggers scratched the horse from shoulder to back.

The frighted horse calmed down until it dropped to the ground. Now the carriage didn’t have a way to move and escape anymore.

The three assassins threw their daggers laced with potent numbing poison at the butler swiftly. One scratched his leg, one impaled his shoulder, and the other impaled his back.

The butter immediately lost his balance and fell on the coachman’s seat. The butler couldn’t get up as his limbs became unresponsive, and the two daggering gradually stopped hurting after his body and became numb.

The three assassins joined the assassin and the roof. Now there were four assassins with their blades targeting the seating areas.

Just as they were about to thrust their blades and hope to kill or gravely injure their target, a small bag was thrown at them from the hole in the middle.

“A small bag?”

“Wait, is that dust?”

“I took antidotes. Poison will not work on us.”

“A smoke screen will not help you survive our blades.”

“There is no antidote for hellfire.” A voice with an intimidating rough voice said from inside the carriage.

*Snap* With a snap of Vincent’s fingers, sparks were produced. *Boom!* The four assassins suddenly burst into flames that burned more intensely than an ordinary flame.

The assassins on the ground approaching the carriage couldn’t believe there was another mage with so much power inside. It caused them to become more cautious about how to continue with their assassination plan.

Now, the assassins couldn’t attack from the roof anymore as it was burning with a green flame. The only way of attack was to go at it from all sides.

One of the assassins rushed to grab the door handle. He tilted the door handle to open it, but his hand froze on the surface of the metal handle.

“More mages?” Was the last thing he questioned in a wavering voice before hearing “Burst Forth!” And exploding along the side of the carriage.

Dust, pieces of wood, glass, and metal fell on the ground, and a short rain of blood covered the side of the carriage.

When the cloud of fine wood dust settled, a man with his sleeves pulled, and a pair of green gauntlets jumped from the carriage to the ground.

Vincent cracked his neck and his knuckles while looking at the assassins with a cold bloodthirsty gaze. His gaze with the radiant green eyes caused the assassins to flinch.

A woman wearing a maid’s outfit with a pair of crimson eyes swiftly stood beside the target of the assassination. Her crimson shining eyes made the assassins believe Ester was a fire mage because her eye color matched the color fire.

Ester clenched her fists. Above her the pair of red gloves were glowing sigils releasing a gust of wind strong enough to make her skirt with small patches of blood splatters lightly flutter along with the wind.

A third man with a wand in his hand exited the carriage next. He looked at the carriage and smiled as if he wanted to reassure someone inside. Later he angrily looked at the assassins like a man who sought revenge.

After Aceon’s daughter finally woke up and he was going to do anything never to see his daughter suffer again. The assassins were about to face a horrible death if they approached his daughter.

“You are guys after my head, correct? Tell me. Who sent you? I might spare you if you snitch. If not, then I have to paint the streets red.” Said Vincent in a menacingly hoarse voice and with an intimidating glare.

“Someone you shouldn’t have messed with.” One of the assassins answered.

*Crack, crack* Vincent cracked his knuckles and used domination intent to subdue, frighten, and intimidate the assassins.

However, it didn’t work that much. They trembled for a second before regaining control of their bodies by they injured themselves. The assassins appeared to be trained to resist becoming incapacitated by fear.

“You got it all wrong trembling assassins. It is the other way around. They messed with someone they shouldn’t have messed with. The Lionheart family has now regained its fangs and claws after being caged for ten years.” Vincent smirked and continued, “Our victory is inevitable.”

“Don’t listen to him. Attack with pattern D.” One of the assassins shouted.

The assassins rushed toward Vincent, Ester, and Aceon. Vincent and Ester prepared to intercept them while Aceon remained beside the broken side of the carriage to protect his daughter.

A few seconds ago, Vincent requested something from Aceon, while Ester requested something from Tiffy.

Vincent told Aceon to leave the fighting to him. Aceon’s job was to protect his daughter and servants.

On the other hand, Ester gently pinched the frightened and shivering Tiffi’s cheek. She reassuringly told her how it was all going to be fine.

When Ester saw Tiffi slightly calm down, Ester told Tiffi to look at her dance of war while closing her eyes when she saw too much red.

Vincent sprung forward at a cluster of assassins. He threw a punch to block a swinging blade at him.

The blade broke upon impact, yet the clenched fist didn’t stop moving forward. The strike soon landed on the assassin’s chest with great force, causing a short cracking sound of bones before sending the assassin flying a couple of meters away.

Vincent raised his guard and blocked two blades with ease. He swiftly lowered his body and slanted his back.

Ester, with her heavy and movement restrictive maid outfit, appeared to be doing cartwheels and front flips in multiple successions, each increasing the momentum of the speed.

As if Vincent had eyes behind his head, he acted like a stepping stone for the graceful woman in a maid outfit.

Her skirt fluttered like a butterfly, and the random yet captivating movements made to increase her speed were all for this one long jump.

Ester soon landed on Vincent’s back, yet she didn’t hesitate to continue going with the flow of the momentum she had built up.

Ester jumped with a spinning front flip while her skirt fluttered like a pair of wings in the middle of the assassins.

Tiffi was peeking at Ester from her hands, partially covering her eyes. She became amazed by how free Ester could move.

It made her current heart racing from fright and anxiety to change its tune when her eyes feasted on a mysterious yet inspiring view of a woman dancing in front of her enemies, unrestrained by human limitations.

“Die you!” An assassin shouted. These were his last words as the wind picked up.

In Ester’s hand, hidden by the distraction of her long fluttering skirt, was a tiny ball of condensed wind ready to destroy anything it touched.

“Burst Forth!” Exclaimed Ester when her hand instinctively targeted the assassin shouting at her.

*Boom* *Splatter* The assassin with a small hole in his chest coughed a mouthful of blood and slammed to the ground.

Ester, who now was covered in blood, slightly intimidated the assassins with her odd movements. Furthermore, killing an assassin with a strange spell instantly caused them to become cautious not to get tricked by her.
