Jun Yexuan followed. He found Qiao Qing on the soft living room rug with the lace piece in her hand. She was both admiring it and figuring out how to put it on.
Jun Yexuan was infatuated with the blank look on her face. He was about to help her up when the voice of his father-in-law stopped him, “Where’s Qingqing? How come she didn’t pick up?”
Jun Yexuan of course lied, “Dad, Qingqing is taking a shower.”
There was no way he was going to tell his father-in-law that he got his daughter drunk. His father-in-law would think he has bad intentions – even though he truly did have bad intentions.
After he spoke, Qiao Qing turned his head and stared at him in confusion.
Before she could speak, Jun Yexuan held his hand over the speaker and retreated to the bedroom.
As expected, the next second, Qiao Qing asked, “Shower?”
Luckily, Jun Yexuan was quick to retreat. The other side of the line only heard some muffled noise.
Quan Zexi, “What’s that noise?”
Jun Yexuan gently coughed and walked to the balcony, “It was the TV. I went to turn it off. Dad, what’s up?”
In the living room, Qiao Qing stared at the lace and seemed to have lost interest as she tossed it aside.
When she got up, she forgot her slippers and she didn’t seem to care.
She circled around the living room and didn’t find anything interesting enough for her. So she headed to the door with her feet bare
Gong Yi hasn’t given up on the idea of eating together. After he got back, he showered, changed, and asked his people to prepare BBQ equipment and ingredients. Then, he headed out the door.
Though he was sure Jun Yexuan would ignore him, he figured it was worth a shot.
He was also very much looking forward to seeing the look on his love rival’s face when he realized they were neighbors.
Gong Yi froze and had to pull the girl’s head up to see who it was. Once he recognized the face, he was even more shocked, “Qingqing?”
Qiao Qing looked up at him and pointed at his nose, “You know me?”

He thought Qiao Qing was joking.
But when he focused, he realized that Qiao Qing was looking a little different than usual. There was no coldness in her eyes. Instead, it was replaced with blankness and confusion. It was as if she was drunk.

Gong Yi inched closer and sniffed. There it was, the smell of alcohol.
Before he could pull away, Qiao Qing slapped him in the face, “Don’t get so close to me! Pork hock will get jealous!”

Plus, she was drunk enough to not recognize anyone, but she cared whether or not that guy got jealous?
This didn’t make him feel good.
“You’re in my way.” Qiao Qing pushed him away.
Only then did Gong Yi notice that she had no shoes on.
He wondered if Jun Yexuan was dead there. Why would he allow her to come out like this?
His brain was telling him that he should warn the guy. But he was a man who followed his heart.
So, Gong Yi walked towards her, and given his long legs, he caught up to her within 3 steps. He then picked her up princess style.
Qiao Qing was about to struggle when a kind man’s voice asked, “Aren’t your feet cold? What if you get sick?”
