Chapter 620: Two Similar Situation And Two Different Approaches

Trinity Academy…

"We will be directly against each other this time. And, I want to make sure that we have a good match. So, don't lose in the first round," Ren said with a smile as he looked at Lear.

"Sure, but I don't think you should be hoping to get us an opponent so soon." Lear looked at him, and the guy still didn't seem to have recovered properly.

"Well, we will see about it. You guys don't have that monster anymore." Ren smiled with a confident look on his face.

Without Max, they sure had weakened significantly. Otherwise, the next event would have been a disaster for other Academies.

Ren knew that Max being injured was just a farce. It wasn't true, the Higher ups in the family had already passed down the information that he was taken out of the competition for being too strong. And, in order to not hurt the confidence of the rest of the students, a fake reason was crafted.

Obviously this was only for the students with weak will. The Noble Houses still decided to inform their best talents about it. After all, it necessarily wouldn't affected everyone in the negative way.

This really made Ren feel a bit nasty, but he wasn't going to sit down and get depressed. He had decided to use that time to chase and catch up after that guy.

And, the rest of the guys were probably doing the same.

'Hmmn?' Lear suddenly noticed Melinda coming downstairs with knitted brows.

She then seemed to be looking for someone, and it probably was Lora.

Lear turned his head to look for Lora as well, but she wasn't anywhere near.

"Give me a second, I will be back."  He said to Ren. And, the guy just gave him a nod.

Lear then went towards Melinda.

As soon as Melinda saw Lear, she immediately asked him, "Have you seen, Lora?"

"She should have been around here, let me ask someone." Lear walked up to Elly and asked her about it. And, found out that she had gone to the washroom. This let him felt a bit relieved.

When he informed Melinda about it, she immediately began to walk out of the hall.

This definitely made Lear frown. He couldn't understand just what was so urgent about this matter that she couldn't even wait for her to come back.

"Is everything alright?" He couldn't help but ask her.

Melinda looked at him and just nodded.

But, Lear could clearly tell that things definitely weren't fine.

If they were, he didn't think she would have come down like this. Not to mention, both his mother and Arnold were missing.

'Don't tell me…' His expression began to turn dark.

"Where are you coming?" Melinda looked at Lear, who had walked outside the hall with her.

"I ....just....wanted to escort you out…" Lear blurted out.

"To the washroom?'' Melinda looked at him.

Lear's mouth opened to retort, but he didn't know what to say.

"Fine, just stay outside.'' Melinda knew it was useless to try and play mind games with him, and convince him there was nothing wrong.

"I know that much.." Lear forced a smile. He obviously wasn't going to enter the female washroom.

He would just stand outside, and there was nothing wrong with it.

But, it didn't seem like he needed to enter the place to find anything.

The moment the two arrived, they saw that wall to the side of the hallway around the washroom had a depression in it with a few cracks. There were even spots of blood around.

It was very clear that something had happened here.

Melinda's face turned a bit pale and she immediately rushed into the washroom after seeing the sight outside.

And, a second later, she came out all alone.

Lear stood there with a dark look on his face. He didn't need to hear her, it was very obvious to him what had happened.

"Logan…" Melinda muttered with a frown.

She wasn't a fool, but the situation was very hard to believe.

There was a major possibility of her Butler betrayed her. Not to mention, a trusted member, betraying them would have definitely opened up a hole in their defense allowing this to happen.

But, she couldn't believe that Logan would betray her. He had been working with her for a long time. She couldn't even remember how long it had been. The man didn't even have a family, but was treated like one by the Roxleys.

Melinda didn't remember ever mistreating him. And, there had never been anything suspicious about him. In fact, there were times when he had risked his life to protect her.

If you wouldn't trust someone like him, then who would you?

And, now you were saying that person had betrayed?

That was definitely hard to digest, but that was the only thing Melinda could deduce from the situation here.

But, Melinda remembered telling Roman to not let the guards leave Lora even for a second, even when Lora was around them.

'That b*stard…' A vein popped up on Lear's face.

He remembered Max telling him to not do anything and just enjoy. He apparently had everything in his palm.

Yet the guy didn't only remain absent, he even failed to do anything. Hell, he wasn't even replying to his message.

"How could this happen? I heard that the security was quite strong." Lear looked at Melinda with scrunched brows. He had heard about the security from Max, and knew that it was impossible to breach.

"There is a traitor.." Melinda clenched her fist as she spoke in a cold tone.

At this moment, her phone rang. And, her face immediately turned a bit dark on looking at the caller's name.

It was him.

Logan…

Seeing Melinda's face turn grim, and rage flashing past her eyes, Lear seemed to take a hint.

"Is it him?" He asked.

Melinda took the call and spoke in an icy cold tone, "Logan…"

"I am sure you would have figured it out by now, My Lady." A laugh came from the opposite side.

"Why did you do this?"

"How about we have a chat in person? I will send you the adress, and please come alone, or else...you probably know already..''

And, the call was hung up.

Melinda closed her eyes for a second, before opening them back again.

Lear looked at her with a frown, "Mam, you don't-"

"I am not foolish.." Melinda cut Lear off. She was not a fool, it was true that she just wanted to dash off right at this second. But, that would just be endangering both her and Lora.

And, such an action might even lessen the chances of getting Lora out of the danger. She had to be careful here and think before doing anything.
