Axel led Erina to the center of the formation which was set up around the area. The formation was quite large, and it definitely needed a dozen people or a strong energy source to operate.
"It should be around here somewhere.." Axel muttered as he finally stopped, and pointed to the ground.
Erina looked at him and nodded as Axel backed away from the place.
"Flare!"
Flames suddenly busted out of Erina's body as she punched the ground with all her might.
"Boom!"
The ground shook, and the next instant, cracks began to spread from the point of impact of Erina's fist as flames penetrated the ground.
"Crack!"
The crack continued to expand all along the area and connected all around in the form of a circle.
"Crumble!"
The ground couldn't hold any longer and immediately crumbled down revealing a hidden area beneath.
There were obviously people beneath, but most of them were not so lucky and were directly crushed by all the rubbles crashing down on them.
Obviously, there were stronger ones as well, who managed to survive.
"Bang!"
The ground exploded and three figures emerged from beneath, and there was also the person among them whom they had been looking for as well.
These people's faces had obviously turned ugly after they had been caught off guard like that.
"To think that you would send yourself to your grave," Neo sneered at her. He didn't know why the guards didn't catch her, but he was sure that Anya would have been alerted by this commotion.
They were done for sure.
"Hmmn?" He suddenly noticed that Axel was by Erina's side as well. And, he obviously recognized him. "So, the rumors were true after all…"
He snorted her in disdain.
Erina was about to retort when a gunshot suddenly rang and a bullet went straight towards Neo temples. But, he was quick to react, and immediately moved his head. In the end, the bullet still managed to leave a bloody cut on his cheek.
"How dare you relate me to someone like her?" Axel asked with tilted head as he gave him deadly glare.
Erina's face twitched as she looked at him.
"Let me catch them.." One of the people beside Neo spoke with a frown as he took a step forward.
He was giving out the aura of an Expert Tier mage.
A frown immediately appeared on Erina's face as she prepared herself for the battle.
"Be careful of hi-" Neo was about to warn him of Axel's tricks that he had seen in footage of the competition, but Axel wasn't giving him any time.
A gunshot rang and the next instant, a bullet flew straight towards the man leaving a black laser like trail behind.
The man smiled seeing the petty trick, and just confidently walked ahead with his mana barrier around. But, his eyes immediately widened when the bullet pierced through his mana bullet like a paper and embedded right into his stomach.
But that wasn't the end.
Black colored runes suddenly began to spread out from the bullet wound, and before he knew it, his whole body was covered in it.
"W-What is this?!!"
He couldn't move his body at all. It was as if he had been petrified.
"Whoosh!"
Erina immediately moved the moment Axel shot the bullet. She already knew about his tricks and knew what was the best option in this situation. Hence, even in that small amount of time, she was very quick to react.
Before the guy knew he already felt a scorching sensation all over his body. There was nothing that he could do but stand there while burning to death. He couldn't even scream in pain. It was definitely one terrifying way to die.
"Let's attack together!!" Neo spoke in a grim tone to the guy behind him.
But, when there was no response from him, he frowned and looked behind. And, the sight immediately made him gulp in fright.
There were three beasts standing behind. And, one of them was releasing a terrifying pressure.
As for his man, well he was lying beside them, badly mutilated.
Neo couldn't help, but feel sweat sliding down his forehead. He didn't even realize when these beasts had gotten behind and killed that guy.
Didn't that mean, it was entirely possible for them to have hunted him down as well?
"It's all over for you…" Axel looked at the guy and smiled. There was no place for him to run now.
"Idiots! You don't know there is someone much more powerful than you all here! You people will be done for when she arrives here!" He looked at them and smiled.
"Are you talking about her?"
A voice sounded from above, and the next instant, a figure landed in front of him.
It was Max, and he was carrying someone on his shoulder.
Neo's eyes immediately widened when he recognized the person on Max's shoulder. He couldn't believe it.
"H-How did you arrive here?" He looked at Max and was finally terrified.
He couldn't understand how they contacted this guy when the formation had just been destroyed.
"It doesn't matter how I arrive. The only thing which matters is your choice from here on now…" Max looked at him.
Neo immediately felt the energy around him disappearing. He couldn't feel the mana around him at all.
"W-What did yo-"
"Bang!"
Before he could complete his sentence, a punch landed on his stomach and his pupils rolled backwards and he instantly passed out.
"Let's get out of here…" Max said as he looked at the two, and then with a snap of his fingers dumped all the people into his spirit world before spreading his wings and disappearing into the sky.

Ander finally arrived at the place, and his expression was extremely heavy as he detected traces of Lear's mana around.
"Lesly!"
"Lear!"
"Arnold!"
He called out to them as he began to search around the place which still was partially on fire.
"Father…"
A voice entered Ander's ear and he immediately turned around before moving in it's direction.
There, he found a guy tied up in chains with mana sealing formation. His face was half burned and he seemed to be writhing in pain.
"Arnold!!"
