"It's about the Previous Lady of the Scarlet House.."
Max looked at Naze. Those words sure had his interest piqued. "What is it?"
"It seems that the Lord has moved her to a hidden location for some reason. And, now no one knows where she is. It's almost like he wants to hide her from the world." Naze sat down on the couch and picked an apple before taking a bite.
"Hmmn… did you pick anything about the Lord?" Max asked as he looked at him. There was definitely something going on. And, he needed to find out what it was only then could he better understand the Scarlet House and fix the mess here. After all, he surely didn't want this place to fall in Talia's hands.
And, from the looks of how there were Demons creeping all around the city, Max was sure that they day when the Scarlett House will entirely fall into Talia's palms was not that far.
"The Lord.." Naze looked at Max. He sure had heard some peculiar things about him. "That man, I can't tell what is going through his head."
"From what I found, the Lord used to love his previous wife. But, when she fell sick, he married Talia within just three months of that event. From that time onwards, his behavior has seen a change. He has become more quiet and it is hard to spot him these days apparently. He has even grown distant from his own kids."
'Did Talia do the same thing to him that she tried on me?' Max frowned but then shook his head. If that was the case, he would have definitely sensed it.
"Are the records from the Ancient Families here yet?" Max asked as he looked at him.
"I don't think we can entirely trust this thing." Naze threw out a file to Max from his storage device with a little frown on his face.
Max looked at him before shifting his gaze to the file in his hand, and then went through the details.
"Nothing seems wrong in it.." Max asked in confusion.
"That's the problem.." Naze smiled. "No matter what kind of research you do, there will always be things that will make you doubt if there is some kind of problem there. But, that is not so for this record.."
Max sure understood what he meant.
"Now look at this.." Naze threw another file.
Max caught it and flipped through it's pages as well. And, when he was done, his face turned a bit ugly.
"Now you realize it.." Naze let out a smirk on his face.
The two files he had thrown towards Max were of two different time periods. One from the time before the Lord had married his second wife and the one after it.
The one after the marriage was perfect without any problems in it. It was almost as if someone had made it that way for them while that was not the case for the first one.
"So, you are saying that they are manipulating the information to a level that even the Ancient Families have been fooled?" Max asked.
"Do you think the Demons are any less than the people from the Ancient Families?" Naze asked, "I think the Demons are heavily investing in this territory. It is even close to the borders. If they are able to secure it, they would easily find a way inside the human world for their forces to invade."
"So, Ocien in an important strategic locations. It makes sense if they are putting a heavy emphasis on it. Besides, do you think that the one who are gathering this information and scouting the places are the top dogs of the Ancient families that couldn't be fool?"
It was true, the people who usually did this kind of work were usually people at a lower level.
"Anyway, it seems I will have to meet the Lord," Max muttered calmly. He wanted to meet Wilson's mother, and see if he could find out something.

Lord's Chamber, Scarlet House.
"Sir, the Young Lord's Friend seemed to have been spotted going near the Lady's Chamber." A person reported.
The Lord sat on his chair with a slight frown on his face. Even yesterday he had heard that Max had gone out with Travis and now this.
As the person completed his report, and disappeared, another servant reported to him that Max was here to meet him.
"Send him in.."
A minute later, Max entered the room.
"How has it been?" The Lord asked Max with a smile on his face.
"It's been fine. I am enjoying your hospitality," Max replied.
"So, do you need me for anything?" Scarlet Lord asked.
"Well, I thought it would be rude if I didn't even greet the Lady of the House." Max smiled.
"Well, then I will inform Talia about it."
"I actually already met her. Travis had arranged a meeting for me. I was talking about Wilson's mother. He had asked me to meet her if I came here," Max replied calmly but he was definitely surprised inwardly.
He actually knew that there was someone keeping an eye on him when he went to meet Talia. And, it didn't make sense for that person to be working for Talia. After all, she already had him as his servant because of the Demonic Transformation.
So, she had no reason to keep track of his movements anymore. If it was not her, then it had to be the Lord's man. Otherwise, who else could dare to enter this mansion where only the Lord's family lived.
But, the question was why did he ask him something like that when he already knew that he had met with Talia?
Was he testing him? But for what?
Did he not believe in Max or even his own wife?
Something was definitely going on. It seemed the relationship between Talia and the Scarlet Lord was not the best.. At least not from the way Max was looking at it.
