Arthur stood there as he looked at Arnold's back with a complicated look in his eyes. He still remembered the days when the three of them fooled around, and hung out together. Who could have thought that they would come from that to this today.

Suspecting one another..

Maybe even plotting against another all for the throne of a Lord…

To Arthur, the seat of the Lord was always meant to be a position which was to be taken by a person who was going to handle the family and protect them.

What else was there to it?

To him it was fine as long as someone competent took that seat, but now…

Struggle for power? This was all wrong, he didn't see power, but responsibility first.

If his desire for this responsibility to protect everyone was going to endanger others, he might as well give up on it.

"Arnold.." Arthur suddenly spoke.

"Yeah.." Arnold still had his back as he opened the refrigerator and was picking something out.

"Do you want to be the next Lord?"

As soon as those words came out, Arnold's body froze and the can of cold drink slid down from his finger, and rolled towards Arthur's feet.

"What are you talking about? Is this some kind of joke?" Arnold finally turned around with a smile.

But, Arthur's face still had that serious look on it. It was clear that he couldn't be any more serious at this point of time.

"I am not joking." Arthur confirmed his thought, and asked once again, "Do you want to be the Lord?"

"You know I am adopted, it's not possible. Only someone of the rightful blood can inherit the throne.." Arnold waved his hand, and picked up the can before passing it to Arthur, and walking out of the kitchen.

"This isn't the answer to my question. Tell me what you want, and not what the rules and other people say." Arthur followed after, and still demanded to hear his true thoughts on it.

Arnold slowly walked into the balcony. His fingers tightly held onto the railing almost digging into it

'Why?'

He wanted to know.

'Why do you have to do this now?!'

He was so close to his revenge.

'Why won't you leave me alone?!' He screamed inwardly as a vein popped out on his forehead.

No matter what he did, two people in this family got on his nerves the most. It was his mother, Lesia and this brother, Arthur. The two were the most annoying people in his life. The way they looked at him turned his skin itchy. He felt suffocated just looking at the two of them.

As for Ander too he always had a complicated and guilty look on his face when he met with Arnold. He knew that he had done something wrong, and this strangely made Arnold comfortable with him.

To be honest, if there was someone who he appreciate in the house, it was Lear. They never had the best relationship to begin with. After all, he had taken the share of attention which Lear was supposed to receive. At the same time, Lear's situation in the house was a little similar to his own father back then.

A bit too talented, and caught in a power struggle.

Best of everything, Arnold knew that the guy would dared to slice his head off if given the chance. As he was probably aware of his truth now.

But for these other people, they probably wouldn't believe at once even if the evidence was given to them.

They would act innocent, act hurt. Cry, and beg for mercy on his behalf..

'Why do they have to act like this?!! Don't play innocent in front of me!! You all deserve death!! I will get my vengeance for my father!!'

"Arnold!!"

Arthur's loud voice jolted Arnold up, and he realized that Arthur was holding onto his shoulder, looking at him with a complicated look on his face.

"Are you all right?"

'Again..' Arnold muttered inwardly as he looked at Arthur, as a fierce look in appeared in his eyes. His inner self seemed to be finally revealing itself.

"You asked me if I wanted to be the Lord? What would you do if I said yes? Will you give it up for me?" Arnold asked as he stared into Arthur's eyes.

A frown immediately appeared on Arthur's forehead. He had been hoping somewhere that there would be no conflict, but with this, it was obvious that Arnold too had his desires.

"See..you can't reply." Arnold snorted, and then shook his head, "Let's pretend this discussion never happened. Or if you are afraid of my ambitions then go ahead and do-"

"Fine, I will let you be the Lord.." A sentence interrupted Arnold, and it sounded like thunder to his ears.

"..."

A silence immediately enveloped the room as the two of them stared at each other.

"You are joking, right?" Arnold asked as he burst into a laughter.

But, Arthur just turned around preparing to leave, "Let's not fight over this matter or else, mom will be upset. As for being the Lord, it is a person who protects, it doesn't matter which one of the three of us becomes the Lord. We will always protect each other. Ain't that right?"

"Don't joke with me, Arthur!!! Is this something so simple to you!! We are talking about the Lordship here!!"

Arthur's footsteps paused, and he turned around to look at Arnold, with a smile " Is it something that I will fight my little brother for? Others might, but it's not worth it in my eyes.."

With that sentence, Arthur finally walked out of the place.

"Slam!"

Arnold broke the table in anger with a single slam of his fist. "Stop joking with me!"

He then angrily tore off his shirt, and walked up to the mirror and placed both his hands on it. His eyes glued onto those words carved onto his chest.

'Right, it's too late, nothing will change now..…'

His eyes, which seemed to be going crazy, once again flashed with a cold light, and he slowly regained his calm.
