Chapter 792: Louis Flaron

Chapter 792 Louis Flaron Demon Slayer Guild, Mercenary District.
"Who are you?" Eren asked Axel in surprise as they went upstairs. He was obviously surprised by the scene from a few seconds before. This was really something he had seen in dramas. And, if he went by the plot, then Axel had to be the main character of the world.
"Wipe off that idiotic smile on your face. I am definitely not what you are making me in your head." Axel gave the guy a look and shook his head.
When the two of them finally arrived on the second floor, they found a lady sitting on the Branch Leader's desk, busy with her work.
Eren's eyes immediately widened at the sight of the beauty. The girl had blonde hair, and looked to be around 22 to 25 years in age. But, there also seemed to be an air of indifference around her.
She wasn't cold, but it seemed that she didn't care for their presence at all.
Axel sighed internally. He was expecting this. Before coming, he had already gathered all the information he needed to. And, he knew about this Branch leader, Louis Flaron, who was a loyal follower of Bahamut, and hence was given the job to manage the branch in Ocien.
Axel hadn't met her personally, but had heard about her from Wilson and Max. After all, they had once teamed up with Bahamut and his followers to do a few missions for their guild. And, Max had described her as someone with a lot of potential, and it didn't seem to be false. From what he had known, this girl really had grown at a terrifying rate.
She might only be second to people like Max in terms of growth.
"Umn..." Eren opened his mouth, but didn't know what to say in that situation. It really felt awkward.
Axel had just taken a seat in front of her, and was staring at her while she was busy with her own work and paid them no attention.
A few minutes later…
The girl finally seemed to be done with her work, and then raised her head to stare at Axel, "What are you here for?"
Eren's face twitched, and all his fantasies shattered. This wasn't how the MC was supposed to be treated unless she was the female lead. But, Eren knew that wasn't possible. After all, Axel's female lead was Erina for sure. At least he thought like that.
"I need information, and a group of people at my disposal," Axel calmly replied. He had things he wanted to do, and he knew that asking Max for help was probably not a good idea. After all, he was working with the Ancient Families and his Professor had clearly asked him to stay away from them.
In fact, the Professor had even asked him not to participate in the competition if possible, but Axel knew that it was not possible. He had no idea why the Professor had asked him something like that, but he knew that his Professor had always helped him. Hence, he was willing to follow his advice.
So, this was the only other place where he could come to get some people to help him with his work. Ocien was too big, and there were powers about which he couldn't even think of. He at least needed some help here, after all, how much could two eyes see, and two arms do.
Eren's existence was obviously ignored here.
"We have a lot of pending quests, and don't have any manpower to spare. I am sorry, but I will have to turn you away," Louis calmly replied.
"I remember having a position in the Guild. I am sure it comes with some authority.." Axel didn't want to act like this, and he hoped that things would just be settled without him using such methods.
Louis frowned a little when she heard Axel. It was very obvious she didn't like those words there.
"I only need a few people.." Axel once again spoke in a polite tone.
"You might have some authority. But I am the Branch leader, and I will do what I think is right for the Guild. And currently, we are not in a position to spare any manpower," She said in a serious tone while looking at Axel.
"Why don't you ask Bahamut for advice on this matter?" Axel asked as he looked at her. He was sure that the kid would understand. After all, he already had this conversation with him.
"He is busy.." Louis obviously knew about the incident that had taken place in the Competition, and she also knew that Bahamut's brother was missing. Hence, she didn't want to disturb him because of such a trivial issue in such a situation.
Axel on the other hand frowned when he heard her. He was not aware of the situation in Ishtar. Hence, to him, it only looked like that this girl was being unreasonable.
"You know that I don't need your permission to take some people from the guild with me, and even command them.." Axel said with a calm look on his face. He knew about his authority at the part of the upper management of the guild. He obviously was not as powerful as her, but he still had his own power.
Louis's eyes flashed with a little hostility in them. She obviously didn't take that tone of Axel in a positive way.
"Do the people here even know you? Do you think they will just listen to you and trust you because you say that you are part of upper management?"
Louis wasn't wrong here. Guilds worked differently, respect has to be earned with power and skill, and not position.
"Well, that was all that I needed. Since you didn't object to it, I will take that as your approval.." Axel didn't pay her any attention and got up to leave. Eren awkwardly looked at Louis and gave her a nod before following Axel.
Louis on the other hand, just shook her head. She wasn't expecting anything from Axel. She had just given him some face because of Max. To be honest, she didn't have other thoughts, but just to force Axle to turn his request into a guild quest. That way, she could have made sure that the guild wasn't losing anything. But, Axel didn't even wait for her to reach that part.
She was doing this for the guild. The guild had been running on Bahamut's funds, and the rapid expansion had exhausted them. She had to be careful now or they would be in trouble.
But, it seemed that Axel didn't understand that or he wasn't aware of that.
To her, Axel was just an impatient person, and she deemed him to be just another useless person.
