Chapter 837 Surprise
"Yay! You are the best! I will go and get Grandpa's permission first!" Charla jumped in excitement and then came up to Mr. Cool with a sweet smile on her face, "Just you wait! I will come and get you.."
Mr. Cool could only force a smile on his face as Charla grabbed his hand, and shook it excitedly.
'How in hell did it come to this? Am I really destined to doom here?' Mr. Cool felt like crying in this situation. He had just heard from a nearby guard that the girl was the granddaughter of the current Acting Demon Lord.
Just what kind of figure was that?
Wouldn't his chances of survival be slim if he were to accompany this little girl? He had actually computed his chances, and it was well above 50% before coming here. But, now, it wasn't even at 1%.
'Am I going to die here?'
At this moment, a figure suddenly appeared behind Charla. And, everyone immediately felt a chilling running down their spines at the sudden appearance of this man. His presence was like a sharp blade one that had suddenly been put onto their necks without realizing it.
There was no doubt about it, that this man was not ordinary at all.
'He is on the same level as that guy..' Mark, who was standing among the crowd, frowned a little on seeing this new person appear. First it was Vandal, and now this man. It seemed that experts were popping out one after another.
"It's time to go, little lady. Master will be coming anytime now.." the man spoke with a calm tone as he informed the little girl about it.
"Ah! Grandpa's meeting is over?!" Charla was jolted up with realization that so much time had already passed. She immediately let go off Mr. Cool's hand, and as she was about to leave, she turned her head around and gave him a smile, "I will definitely come to get you. Let's play after that.."
"Uh..yeah.." Mr. Cool nodded with a face which seemed to be half filled with joy and half with sadness.
With that, the girl once again boarded the gryphon and took off to the sky while the man who was probably her escort disappeared in thin air.
Seeing her leave, everyone finally let out their breath in relief feeling the tension dissipate. Of course, there was one exception. It was Mr. Cool and everyone was giving him a pitiful look.
"Let's go.." Beli didn't pay attention to anything else. With the trouble gone, she really wanted to get back home and relax a bit.
As the group began to move, Mr. Cool slowly got closer to others and spoke with a worried look on his face.
"She was joking, right? I won't be handed over, right?" He looked at Bayu with a little hope in his eyes, but the jerk let out a smirk and destroyed it all as he spoke, "You don't understand it…Why do you think you came here?"
Mr. Cool frowned a little. They were obviously here to infiltrate. The main objective was to find the head of Typhon and get the cure for Lear. Aside from that, there were a lot of side quests. If they were able to do them, they should do it indeed.
"You guys are here to infiltrate. Our plan was to send you guys away to Asura Tribe and Heaven Tribe. And, one of those opportunities just came to us..why would she refuse that?"
"If you follow that girl, you can literally roam around in the Asura Tribe as you please.."
Bayu's words indeed made a lot of sense. Even Mark nodded in agreement. But, Mr. Cool wasn't a least bit happy with it.
"But, doesn't this put me in the centre of attention and make me more susceptible to being caught. I might die here.." He retorted in protest.
"Who told you to stand out then?" Bayu retorted with a smug look on his face.
Mr. Cool's face turned dark, and he turned his face towards Mark and Wilson for help, and they immediately gave up on him.
"You brought this on yourself..now suffer.." Wilson was merciless.
"It might be tough, but I think you should not let go of this opportunity. Not to mention, you will draw more attention if you reject this. Besides, do you really think it's a good idea to reject that girl?" Mark was on the same page as Wilson, but his words sounded comforting to Mr. Cool.
"Sigh! Fine, l will do it!" Mr. Cool sighed in dejection. "Bet they won't do anything to me even if they find it. I mean I am such a beauty..they will probably convince me to convert to their side..yeah, that's very likely the case..I am worried for no reason.."
Bayu gave Mr. Cool a look who was talking to himself now with a weird look on his face and turned his head towards Mark and asked, "Are you sure he would be fine?"
"Leave him be..he will get over it.." Mark shook his head with a bitter smile on his face.
"Yeah, he is a narcissist. He would convince himself how great he is and nothing will happen to him one way or another.." Wilson spoke with an indifferent tone.
Bayu's face twitched, but when he thought about it, it indeed made sense.
The group continued to travel, and it took a while but they finally arrived near a city.
'This place sure looks different from ours..' Mr. Cool thought as he looked at the huge city gates. He felt as if he had come to some old village area near the border areas to be honest. But, the feeling was a little different.
The guards ahead seemed to be finally done with verification, and the gates were finally opened for them to enter.
Mr. Cool too followed behind the group as they entered, but the moment he took a step into the city, his entire body froze as a message popped up in front of him.
