She tucked her strands behind her ear and said, “I know. I just want to be his friend.”
Shaun’s brows twitched hearing this. Yes sure, friend? He would only believe it when pigs fly.
Zi Han looked at the strong arm around his shoulder and suddenly felt like a husband caught cheating. He looked up to Yi Chen who was spotting a gloomy expression like he had been wronged.
“Where are you taking me?” asked Zi Han while glancing back at the group watching them leave.
Oh god, knowing what he had done with Yi Chen he suddenly felt so embarrassed.
If it was before he wouldn’t even be ashamed. He would have shamelessly put his arm on Yi Chen’s waist and deliberately provoked him. After those memories came flooding in any contact he had with Yi Chen he would have critically evaluated it beforehand. If it was too intimate he wouldn’t do it.
Yi Chen had also noticed Zi Han’s awkwardness and for the past few days, he had been so concerned. He tried to take the initiative but Zi Han would find a way to slip through his fingers.

When he heard that girl call Zi Han that it felt like his heart was in a constant free fall. His legs somewhat developed a mind of their own striding toward Zi Han with a dark expression on his face.
His jaw clenched he draped his arm on Zi Han’s shoulders and pulled him close before leading him away. He didn’t even spare anyone a glance. All he was thinking was taking this person far away to a place where no one else would covert him.
Zi Han could feel the tension between them and he tried to open his mouth a couple of times but he could only purse his lips because everything he thought of would be considered flirtatious.
When they entered the elevator, Zi Han finally said, “I couldn’t find you at the boarding platform.... not that I am asking where you were but... uh never, never mind,” said Zi Han before awkwardly averting his gaze while rubbing the back of his neck.
Hearing this Yi Chen felt like a weight had been lifted off his chest. He was so jealous seeing Zi Han standing there with that girl gawking at him like she was staring at candy. He had even caught Evan staring intensely like Zi Han was an entrée.
Yi Chen exhaled deeply his cheeks hit from embarrassment. The tip of his left foot moved closer to Zi Han as he said, “I boarded early,” after clearing his throat.
Zi Han lowered his head and mumbled, “Then you could have at least told me. I looked like a crazy person looking for....*sigh..... ahem.”
Yi Chen bit his lower lip his chest all warm inside. Suppressing a smile he moved a little closer till their arms were plastered together. He lowered his head and asked, “I didn’t know that you missed me that much.”
Zi Han, “???”
“Move over. Why are you squishing me when there is a lot of space in the elevator? Oh shit, why are you strong,” complained Zi Han pushing him away but Yi Chen wouldn’t move.
“That’s not squishing you. This is an appropriate distance between us. You want to see squishing?” he said before pressing Zi Han against the elevator wall.
With a bam his hand hit the elevator wall as he lowered his head to say, ‘This is squishing,’ but his words got caught in his throat realizing their posture.

His muscles tensed up as he stared at those pink lips. He wanted to taste them and like a starved beast, he licked his lower lip before gulping with his Adam’s apple rolling.
The thirst in his eyes was obvious to Zi Han. It was indeed the same look that man gave that woman in those videos. Zi Han felt his heart beat quicken as he stood there frozen while watching Yi Chen’s face getting nearer.
Yi Chen’s warm breath with a sweet scent of butterscotch brushed against his skin making his scalp numb. He was scared yet high on anticipation at the same time which was a bit confusing.
Yi Chen’s gaze shifted up to look into his eyes and subconsciously asked, “Why aren’t you pushing me away.”
It was these words that brought Zi Han back to reality. He pressed his palms against Yi Chen’s chest his eyes misty before pushing him away.
But Yi Chen grasped Zi Han’s hands pressing them hard against his chest so he wouldn’t move. Zi Han could feel Yi Chen’s heartbeat through his palms.
“Tell me,” whispered Yi Chen making Zi Han’s stomach flip over. It was both an amazing and awful feeling.
The tension between them was undeniable but unfortunately, they couldn’t explore this feeling longer because the elevator announced the floor number and the doors opened.
“Oh, sorry,” said a female voice breaking the atmosphere between them. Zi Han pushed Yi Chen away and strode out his ears boiling hot like they were on fire.
