Even I think it’s a cheat.

I’ve been followed with hostility for about a week now, and I’ve reached the limit of my patience, so I guess I should give her a good scolding.

“How long are you going to keep following me, Melissa?”

“!?”

I walked towards the forest as usual, but instead of going in, I moved to a slightly open area and called out the maid’s name. She disguised as a town girl who was following.

But when the head maid got called by her name, she choked for a moment but did not reply.

She probably dismissed it as a bluff, as if there is no way I, the trash of a son, would ever catch her following me.

“Hey, if your dog bites your arm, you have to discipline it. One has to make it clear who is the master, don’t you think?”

Then I threw a knife at Melissa with a little bit of killing intent that got easily flicked away, and the next thing I knew, she had changed from the town girl outfit to the maid outfit I always see.

“Hmph, I commend you for spotting me. And I agree that someone needs to get disciplined. I never thought you were under the false impression that you are superior to me here. You are trash because you don’t know your own position, you know? However, it is okay. Master has ordered me to get rid of you. So, after I discipline you, I shall make sure of your death. In fact, since you came here to get killed yourself, I will only thank you for saving my time.”

Even after being exposed, she still thinks she can take care of me with ease? Perhaps because I showed no talent for sword or magic.

Melissa became talkative and even blabbed about her client being my father.

Well, it was obvious from the beginning, so I was not surprised. I felt I understood just a little bit how Kaisar felt when his own parents kept telling him they didn’t want him.

“Now that I think about it, there’s a saying for people like you in a foreign language.”

I look at Melissa with a hearty condescending look as I say this.

“The barking dog seldom bites.”

The next thing I knew, a huge pillar of fire appeared where I stood.

Her weapon’s strength was powerful enough to reduce an ordinary human being to ashes without even leaving bones behind.

“What an eyesore! Since you’re getting on the nerves of your superior, rather than disciplining, I’m gonna kill you. Just how unhinged can you be?

“That’s right. This bonker is bigger (better) than you think.”

“…?”

With a swift motion, I walk past Melissa and lightly tap her on the shoulder, whispering, ‘I am better’ to her ear.

Then Melissa, who looked startled for a moment, immediately leaped away from me.
