62 Are You Acquainted With Her
“Why did you go hunting so late in the night?” Zhao Chuchu followed Xie Heng. “What did you see?”

Xie Heng put the stuff down and turned to stare at her. “I did not follow you. I really did go hunting. Chuchu, where’s the trust that you just mentioned?”

Zhao Chuchu couldn’t react to that.

“There was a beast. I don’t want it to save Junjun, so I sent it into the mountain,” Xie Heng finally said.

After a short pause, Zhao Chuchu asked, “Wait! You know martial arts?”

“A little.” Xie Heng admitted.

Zhao Chuchu was speechless.

“A little? Then, why couldn’t I detect it?” she thought.

“By the way, do you know how to handle it?” Xie Heng suddenly changed the subject.

“Huh?” the lady replied dumbfoundedly.

Xie Heng pointed at the rabbits that were trying to run away. “Do you know how to cook them?”

“How can we eat such cute rabbits?”

It was Xie Heng’s turn to be speechless.

Zhao Chuchu saw that and that made her feel better.

“Don’t look at me. You should thank God that I at least know how much water should be added when cooking rice, or else you would’ve starved.”

“Do we have to go there?”

“You were dying from hunger. There’s no way I can watch you die, right? Is Zhao Xing the beast?”

“Yes. Where is she?”

“Sleeping in my room. Tell me, do you know who she is?”

“Although I might be good at studying, I can’t predict the future. Are you going to raise the rabbits if you aren’t going to eat them?”

“But, I don’t know how to cook them. Let’s keep them here first, and you can cook them tomorrow night. Braised rabbit sounds good.”

Xie Heng looked at the lady speechlessly again.

“It’s late. I’m going to bed first.” Zhao Chuchu decided to head back into her room.

Xie Heng watched as she left and was lost in thought.

Zhao Chuchu stayed by the injured lady’s side for the whole night, and the wounded finally woke up when the sun had just risen.

Zhao Chuchu was still sleeping by the bed, but the lady’s movement awakened her.

She opened her eyes instantly and stared at the lady with a sharp glare.

However, she quickly regained her wits and realized she wasn’t in the apocalyptic world anymore. She just had a nightmare of her old world.

Zhao Chuchu got up and met the lady’s gaze.

“You are?” After a while, the lady tried to sit up.

“You shouldn’t get up yet. You’re still heavily injured,” Zhao Chuchu said as she stopped the lady from getting up. “Your wounds might open up if you move around. We’ll talk once you’ve recovered.”

“Did you save me?”

“Yes.”

“Where am I?”

“Lengshui Village.”

“I…”

“Alright. Stop talking and get some rest. If your wounds open up, even gods can’t save you.”

“Thank you, Miss…”

“Zhao Chuchu. You can call me Chuchu.”

“My name is Yuan Hui.” The lady nodded.

“It’s safe here. So, don’t worry about a thing.”

“Okay.”

“Are you hungry?”

“A little.”

Zhao Chuchu nodded. Having an appetite meant that the lady was out of life-threatening danger.

Her healing skills had worked.

However, she couldn’t help but wonder what secret Xie Heng was hiding and why he asked her to save the lady.

Realizing that she wouldn’t get an answer, she decided to head into the kitchen to prepare something for Yuan Hui to eat.

Zhao Chuchu could tell from Yuan Hui’s innocent eyes that she was from a prestigious family.

She wondered why such a well-raised lady would come to such a poor village.

The lady would’ve died if Zhao Chuchu had not saved her in time.

Zhao Chuchu walked out of her room and noticed that Xie Heng had already woken up.

She turned to look at the lady in her room and grinned. “Hey, is that your ex or something?”
