"Why are you gasping?" Kira raised an eyebrow. She continued her words in a mocking tone. "Don't act like you're so pure and no girls have ever seen you naked."
"Well... no, it's not it," Gewen scratched his head. He looked at Kira with a questioning look. "Did we.... ahem, did we sleep together?"
Kira coughed violently when she heard his question. Her ears became pink. She pretended not to hear the man's question and repeated her instruction for him to get ready and met her outside for breakfast. "Quickly get dressed. I will wait for you outside."
She left him alone and closed the door behind her. After Kira was outside, she grumbled to herself, "Shameless..."
She massaged her temple and shook her head. That womanizer was too much. All he thought about was sex, apparently. The first thing he asked was... did they sleep together???
This was annoying, Kira thought. If Gewen wasn't acquainted with Emmelyn, Kira would have slapped him for being presumptuous.
Meanwhile, Gewen was deep in thoughts. He wondered if he and Kira really did the deed last night.
Did they have sex??
He knew he was very attracted to her and actually wouldn't mind having sex with that woman before he faced his death. Usually... no woman ever said no to his advances and would gladly sleep with him. Was it any different last night?
It was so unfortunate that Gewen didn't have any recollection of last night. It would be nice to remember it if he really had sex with the feisty woman.
While he put on his clothes, Gewen's mind wandered. He was thinking of his performance and whatnot. If they did sleep together, why was Kira pretending not to hear his question?
Was his performance so awful that she would rather forget about it and pretended it never happened?
Gewen's fingers halted as he was buttoning his shirt. The thought was really bothering him.

When he finally came out of the chamber, he saw Kira was waiting for him outside the door. She looked impatient and quickly pulled his arm to follow her.
"What took you so long?" she grumbled. "I am a girl and I don't even take that long to get ready."
Gewen pursed his lips, but he didn't refute her words. He knew she was right. He did take some time to get ready because he cared about how he looked.
Gewen believed that every book should be judged by the cover and he was determined to always make himself presentable, no matter where he was and what he wore.
Besides, he was in a good mood because Kira took his arm while they walk to the end of the hallway and went down to the ground floor. So, he chose not to say anything, worried that she would let go of his arm.
When they went out of the building, they could see the ground around them was covered in fresh snow. Gewen didn't remember seeing this much snow yesterday. So, he turned to Kira and asked if it rained snow the night before.
She nodded. "Yeah. There was a snowstorm last night. You were drunk and passed out. So, you don't remember."
"Ohhhh..." Gewen pressed his lips and looked at Kira in shock. "How did I get here, by the way? Where are we now?"
"I brought you here, dumbass," said Kira in annoyance. "You are heavy."
Gewen's fondness for Kira kept growing by the minute when he heard she went through the hassle of bringing him to safety, even though she didn't have to.
Gosh... so, not only she was awesome, but she also had a kind heart. She took him here and saved him from being stranded in the storm.
"I owe you my life..." the man muttered to her. "Please let me know how I can repay your kindness."
Kira raised an eyebrow. "You did tell me you will pay with your body."
"Oh... I did, didn't I?" Gewen's eyes lit up. "Have I paid my debt already? Was it not enough? Do you want my body again?"
Kira wanted to laugh and smack Gewen at the same time. This man was too much, she thought to herself, laughing internally.
Finally, Kira chose the latter. She smacked him hard.
"Shameless..." She hit his arm. "Let's go eat something. You owe me an explanation."
"All right!"
Gewen followed her steps toward the small dining room at the end of the hallway. He was feeling really hungry and was grateful for the breakfast offer. While walking toward the dining room, he looked to their left and right, trying to guess where they were.
Was this the royal palace? He was wondering. Gewen vaguely remembered Kira told him that she now stayed in the royal palace because she was friends with the king through Emmelyn.
This place was huge and super luxurious. This must be the palace!!
Ahh... if she really took him to the royal palace, Gewen felt so lucky! Wasn't Emmelyn staying here too??
He could just make a scene to get Emmelyn's attention. Once he could see her, he would tell her everything. Emmelyn needed to hear the truth about Mars and the second bounty.
If they decided to kill Gewen after he told Emmelyn everything, he didn't mind. As long as he had completed his mission, he could die in peace.
