Chapter 2404: Tenderness (3)

Translator : MoonWhisperer, Cheshyre Editor : Brook, TWIP

Nangong Liuyun laughed and poked Su Luo’s forehead, “My princess, I am your guardian knight. Naturally, I think you should be honored.”

“Annoying.” Su Luo pushed him away despite how flattered she felt.

After an exhausting day, Su Luo was still excited to go lure out some beasts, but Nangong Liuyun stopped her.

“Time to rest.” Nangong Liuyun carried her on his shoulders, taking her to bed.

Then suddenly, a flash of lightning struck down from midair!

Su Luo jumped in fright!

This was no ordinary lightning!

That dazzling light nearly blinded Su Luo’s eyes, and the following clap of thunder sounded like it exploded right above Su Luo’s head!

The strange thunder was particularly horrifying.

Nangong Liuyun saw Su Luo’s face turning a bit pale, he hurriedly pulled her into his arms and patted her back soothingly, “It’s okay. This is the awakening of the King of the Abyss Temple.”

The King of the Abyss Temple? Su Luo looked at Nangong Liuyun with confusion.

“The King of the Abyss Temple is the most powerful existence deep inside of the Abyss, with Lightning and Light attributes.” Nangong Liuyun tucked Su Luo into the bed and then sat beside her.

“You’re not going in there, are you?” Su Luo poked his chest.

“You’re scared.” Nangong Liuyun’s answer was 1, but the meaning in it was clear.

Seeing Su Luo refrain from voicing 2, Nangong Liuyun chuckled and patted her head, “Don’t worry. Have some rest and sleep. I’m here for you.”

This sentence of just four words, ‘I’m here for you,’ made Su Luo feel completely at peace.

But soon after, Su Luo felt something wasn't right. She had an instinct for sensing danger that was triggered as she suddenly woke up with a start after midnight.

Su Luo sat up with beads of sweat covering her pale face.

Nangong Liuyun’s slender arm wrapped around her and pulled her toward his chest as he muttered half-consciously, “Sleep.”

Su Luo pushed Nangong Liuyun softly, “Something is wrong. Hurry and wake up!”

Nangong Liuyun yawned and fell back asleep.

Su Luo: “…”

Su Luo could sense the danger, but she couldn’t identify what kind of danger it was.

Pondering on it, Su Luo patted to wake up Little Fox Sable and asked it to share the map.

On the map, each of the crisscrossing main pathways in the Temple of the Abyss should have been clear and comprehensible at glance.

But at this moment, Su Luo’s hands shook lightly, because she saw numerous little black dots crammed into all those main pathways. The dark specks were like scattered sesame seeds: too many to count.

Su Luo pushed Nangong Liuyun, “Wake up, hurry!”

“Hmm?” Nangong Liuyun’s voice sounded nasal.

“So… so many… It’s the Magical Beast Army,” Su Luo’s voice shook lightly. “This simply isn’t a number that can be diminished in only five days!”

Nangong Liuyun replied 3, “Really?”

Su Luo glared at him, “How could you be so calm about this?! I have a premonition that the Magical Beast Army will definitely march directly to us…” Before even finishing her sentence, she slapped her mouth for jinxing 4.

In her mind, Su Luo could plainly see a horde that was the Magical Beast Army marching in their direction.

Su Luo: “…”

Even though Su Luo didn’t know how strong these Magical Beasts were, she was certain that they were no weaker than the ones they’d encountered during the day.

There were so many! If we were lucky, there would still be around ten thousand of them! How could we kill them all?

Su Luo felt like her brain was almost tied up in a knot.

“Let’s retreat!” Su Luo grabbed a hold of Nangong Liuyun and tried to run.
