Lucas while flying in the air at lightning speed shot many ice spikes with thick chains which were attached to his hands but even if the spikes were able to pierce the tree the chain attached to him broke like a feather.
Lucas doesn't have ice ability so he can't maintain the chains for long or increase their hardness like Julian so he casts many spikes with chain-like this.
Even if the chains broke, it decreased the speed of Lucas's descent and as he felt his speed has been significantly lowered, he swung his body and landed on the ground on his feet and took a deep and heavy breath.
For a moment, he thought he will be eliminated.
