The ceiling, floor, and the three walls of the room each had sunken door outlines identical to the last room. But while the first room had only four doors, this room had five. If one looked at it according to the rooms’ arrangements, the first room they came from was the dining room and this room was now the bedroom.

“But the room was probably made like this on purpose.” Bai Chunian carried Rimbaud and walked to the front of the bed hanging on the wall and gently pushed it, “These things are fixed to the wall with nails.”

“As for this crystal hanging lamp… it must be made of hard iron wire. It looks like it’s held up on the wall’s surface.” Bai Chunian walked under the foot of the wall, supported Rimbaud’s armpits with both hands, and easily lifted the merman near the crystal lamp, “You feel it to see if it is.”

Rimbaud lifted his hand and lightly flicked the decorative crystal pendant on the lamp.

The pendant gently swayed, taking the other crystal pendants along to rock together. Since the hanging lamp was installed parallel to the wall where Bai Chunian and Rimbaud were standing, the pendants swayed like a wave floating in the air.

Meanwhile, several wolf alphas found a fishbowl on the dressing table nailed to the wall, and a brightly colored red betta fish was swimming in the fishbowl.

“The fishbowl probably can’t be nailed to the tabletop.” He Suowei reached in with his finger and stirred, “How is this water not spilling out?”

The fish tank was peacefully placed on the vertical tabletop. It didn’t slide, nor did the water surface have any inclination. He Suowei used his hand to scoop out a bit of water from the tank. The water droplets passed in front of him horizontally and fell back into the vertically placed fish tank.

This room wasn’t out of sorts at all. The only indisposed objects were the five of them that broke in. It was like the gravitational direction of the whole room was different.

Bai Chunian walked over curiously and also stirred the fish tank straight after. The colorful and florid betta fish in the tank didn’t lose its head out of fear like it did a moment ago. Instead, it put its head to the bottom of the tank and pressed against Bai Chunian’s finger with a docile attitude.

“What does that mean? Is it addressing you?”

“No.” Rimbaud was very impatient with translating an insignificant little fish’s language. He grabbed Bai Chunian’s arm, sharp nails extending out of the nail sheath, and gently tapped the alpha’s elbow, “Have you touched… enough?”

It was unknown if it was because of his increased food intake, but Rimbaud’s behavior was getting closer and closer to the appearance of evolving to the maturity stage that was in the exam. Overbearing and indifferent, but also having a type of ‘only I am dominant’ overtone inside.

After a long time, they realized that the room was even more silent than when they came.

“Captain He?” Bai Chunian turned his head to look around. There wasn’t a soul in sight in the bedroom except for him and Rimbaud.

“Did they go back to the previous room?” Bai Chunian talked to himself and went to look around at the stairs they had just come down from. The opened entrance had already disappeared, leaving the same sunken door-shaped outline on the wall as the others.

“Hey, those little two wolves surnamed He vanished too.” Bai Chunian observed a scratch in the leather-patterned wallpaper pasted on the extremely sealed door. He pressed his palm flat against where the original door was and carefully sensed a tiny change in temperature, which seemed to be a little higher than normal.

Bai Chunian knocked on the door and the wall, unable to determine whether it was hollow or solid because of the wall’s very peculiar material. Bai Chunian, prone to touching things he should keep his hands off of, picked off a small piece of wallpaper. There was a type of extremely thick metal inside. It was impossible to tell whether there was still space on the other side of the wall just from the knocking sound.

Rimbaud sat in the center of the room, his fishtail bent like human knee joints. His hands were hugging his tail, and he was resting his head on the tail.

Bai Chunian walked over and squatted on one knee in front of him, pressing Rimbaud to his chest and smiling softly to comfort him: “Scared?”

“Directly, tear it down.” Rimbaud pointed his tail up, the tip flashing with strong electric currents.

Bai Chunian believed that Rimbaud did have the ability to directly turn the entire hidden chamber into a ball of charred coal.

“We’re still not sure how many living people are in here yet. If you just make a move and destroy the whole house as you please, the hostages will be regarded as your responsibility if they die. When you’re locked up in the international Prison, it’ll be troublesome if I want to save you.”

Rimbaud leaned into Bai Chunian’s shoulder pit and asked indifferently, “Why, do I, need to do… this stuff.”

“At first it was for the three thousand yuan bonus… but in the end it comes down to proving to the president and the others that you’re not a threat to humans and are very competent and very well-behaved. This way, the president will allow me to continuously raise you in my house. Do you like that?”

“I don’t need, others’ permission.” Rimbaud relied on the strength of his tail to support his body. In a possessive posture, he drew Bai Chunian in the crook of his arm, lowered his head, and lightly pressed his lips on Bai Chunian’s forehead, “I will take you… back to… Honduras. ”

“Hum…” Bai Chunian narrowed his eyes, purposely followed Rimbaud’s meaning, and rubbed his cheek against the crook of his neck.

When the alpha showed dependence, Rimbaud’s attitude changed from cold to gentle and joyful, visible to the naked eye. He then gently cupped Bai Chunian’s face, tilted his head, and kissed the alpha’s lips. The ice-cold tongue tip probed into his mouth and emitted rich, fragrant, and elegant Himalayan musk rose soothing pheromones, long fishtail powerfully twisting around his body.

The merman’s passionate display of affection manifested itself entirely on the side of aggression and control.

In nature, certain species would be matriarchal, such as the queen bee in a bee colony or the queen ant in an anthill. They held the power to mate, in other words, absolute rights and power in the community.

Bai Chunian had an epiphany and finally understood the change in Rimbaud’s alternating attitudes—when Rimbaud believed that his conducts and deeds offended his own “authority”, he would consciously cold-shoulder him and become strict and estranged to consolidate his position; when Bai Chunian deliberately showed weakness and dependence, Rimbaud would feel that the alpha was acknowledging allegiance to him, so he would very happily protect and caress him with the attitude of a superior.

Thinking of the day they slept in the same breeding box for the first time, Bai Chunian still remembered that he was exhausted and beaten black and blue after a whole day of training and saw that his bed had an extra being—a beautiful little fish omega. Anyone would feel incomparable warmth and comfort in their heart, but Rimbaud didn’t have a large interest in him and kept his back turned to him.

However, the scent on his body was so gentle that Bai Chunian hugged him from behind and fell asleep with his forehead gently against his back. In retrospect, this posture was simply showing obedience and servitude in Rimbaud’s perspective.

Probably from that day on, Rimbaud completely regarded him as something that belonged to him. And now, such racial natural instinct was coming out more and more as Rimbaud’s food intake was nearing satisfaction.

“So it was like this.” Bai Chunian finally figured out this ethereal life form’s routine. He tilted his head and curved his lips to reveal a very obedient expression, half squinting his eyes and smiling lightly, “Gege.”

When this form of address was blurted out, he saw the rise and fall rhythm of Rimbaud’s chest quicken immediately.

The merman excitedly tightened the fishtail that was curled around Bai Chunian’s body, and something that was gradually swelling up was pushing up the fins that covered the private place.

A red laser targeting dot suddenly fell on Bai Chunian’s face. Bai Chunian was keenly aware of the danger and grabbed Rimbaud’s hands, standing up while holding him. He supported and held the omega with his forearm, took off the HK417 on his back with his left hand, and pointed the muzzle of the gun at the other party.

“Don’t move, brothers. Laozi’s gun isn’t cautious. Put your hands up.” Just as the two were engrossed in a romantic couple’s world, already ignoring the situation outside, a door next to the bedroom bed unknowingly opened. An alpha dressed as a mercenary slowly walked in with his submachine gun raised.

Before Bai Chunian had time to ponder over how this door was opened, Rimbaud had already changed into an angry red fish in his arms. He had blood-red spikes sticking out of his dorsal fins, glaring at the mercenary with all the indignant anger of having his business interrupted.

“Wait, Rimbaud, not yet—”

A lightning bolt shot out from the tip of the fishtail. The mercenary, who had appeared inexplicably, instantly turned into pungent black smoke along with the gun in his hand.

Very quickly, the mercenary’s accomplice also came out of this door that had unknowingly appeared, pointing his gun at Bai Chunian and Rimbaud.

The captain was a gila woodpecker alpha. Bai Chunian still remembered him clearly. In the ATWL exam, they encountered the No Survivors team in the library. When the No Survivors team was preparing to directly drive over recklessly, he used the M25 to snipe off the driver of the car, who was also the main strength of the No Survivors team, a gila woodpecker alpha named En Ke.

But because Bai Chunian sniped too fast, En Ke was directly eliminated by a headshot before he could see his face clearly, so he couldn’t recognize Bai Chunian at this moment.

En Ke held a mini submachine gun and surveyed the two people, raising the tip of his eyebrow when he saw the police uniform on Rimbaud: “Police?”

“We’re here to search and rescue the hostages, there’s no conflict of interests.” Bai Chunian wore a smile, holding down Rimbaud as much as possible under his hand, not letting him get violent and injure the person.

“Hm.” En Ke saw that there were only two of them and didn’t attach any importance to them. He coldly interrogated, “Someone entered this room just now, right? Where did he go?”

Bai Chunian replied sincerely, “Eh? I didn’t see. Where is there a person? I wasn’t paying attention.”
