An endless line of people from the city that was once the capital of a king. People of all ages and classes, men and women, of all ages and classes, were lined up along the paths leading down to the underground.

They all had mushrooms on their body parts, and every one of them held a plate in his or her hand.

The dishes on the plates varied from the extravagant delicacies of royalty and aristocrats to the rotting food that poor people secretly nibble on the side of the road.

They were brought to the basement one after another in a completely cold state by the hands of people with vacant eyes.

The end of the line.

There, waiting for them, was a slime-like rehalzam, twice as big as it used to be.

The one who holds the plate walks up to the slime and tilts it.

The meal slips off the plate. Just now, a sautéed chicken slid off the plate.

The beautifully browned and sauced chicken leaves the edge of the plate and falls into the slime of rehalzam that is sloppily spread out on the ground.

Ta-da!

The chicken meat is halfway into the slime. Only the face of Riharzam appears.

It is like a fresh head floating in a sea of slime.

Many of them.

The faces of Riharzam's heads fight with each other as they suckle on the bird meat that has fallen into their own slime.

Many identical faces of Riharzam, pushing each other's faces away from each other, as if in a competition. They sink their teeth into the meat and engage in an ugly struggle.

A large, bearded man speaks to the fresh head of Riharzam who has lost his appetite. It was Doga, who had taken the position of Riharzam's right hand man.

"Master Riharzam. The further evolution of the race is a very happy thing. We are one step closer to the demon king, aren't we? You have changed into a very fine figure, this Doga, and you look very different.

Then the next mushroom man appears and drops another dish into Rehalzam's slime.

"Doga, huh? You've been dancing around that sorcerer's lies. Evolution is not something to be celebrated.

Multiple rehalzam heads floating in the slime answer Doga.

The upper body parts that had appeared before had completely disappeared in the evolutionary process, and the only human-like part of Riharzamu was its face.

By answering with his remaining multiple faces, Riharzam's conversation became much easier to understand.

Riharzam continued to answer to Doga with the remaining raw heads of his victims as he swarmed several raw heads for the next dish.

"In the first place, that sorcerer! Rusto lied about being dead. Rusto's alive and well! I made sure of it before the spy we sent in got hit. I knew it. I'm the one who's supposed to kill him.

Rust is alive and smiling, while Riharzam's head is blue-streaked.

"Rust, Rust. Oh. How sweet it sounds! I can't wait to bite and devour it with my teeth. Oh, the abomination."

Riharzam spoke to Doga, rolling the raw head around in his mucus.

Doga just listens in silence.

"I heard that the army I sent was defeated. But that's part of the plan! Let them be proud of themselves while they still can. The work on their bodies is perfect. It's only when they're dead that the fun really begins, Lusto."

Riharzam mutters to himself, as if he were talking to Rust, who is not here.

When he finishes his soliloquy, Riharzam's head, floating on the slime, grimaces all at once, and several deafening laughs erupt.

Rehalzam was completely oblivious to the fact that the spies he had hidden in Harbaughton's men had been the first to be killed.

Rust's potion rabbits have cured all of the parasitic mushrooms without producing any corpses.
