"He is the last of the villagers of Toma. As you said, the parasitic mushrooms have not been purified yet. Take care."

"Thank you, both of you. Oh, ...... Mr. Zahle, huh?"

The last person Ary and Roa brought to the village was Zahle, who was probably the person they saw most often among the villagers of Toma.

Half of his face was covered with black mushrooms, and he was bound with a rope. He still struggles to attack us.

Apparently, the degree to which humanity remains in the parasite varies from person to person. I have no proof, but I suspect that it has something to do with which part of the human body the parasitic mushrooms are growing. That is just my intuition.

We are now in front of the house of the chief of Toma village.

Ary and his men did a great job after they entered Toma village. With their potion-covered spears and Taura's sword, the three of them cleaned the villagers of the parasitic mushrooms one after another.

With each swing, a drop of potion flew from the tip of the blade. They glistened along the trajectory of the swords and spears.

Yes, it was as if we were watching a magnificent dance. And so, while I was admiring them, the village of Toma was quickly overrun.

"It seems that these mushrooms are not contagious just by touching them."

From another direction, Taura calls out to us. She was carrying a villager who had fainted after the purification process.

"Thank you, Taura! You did an excellent job with the sword.

"What? This is nothing. They are not skilled in martial arts to begin with. They're not skilled in martial arts to begin with. And thanks to Rust, the potion covers the sword. The wound will heal quickly, won't it?"

"Yes, it should be. But the three of you are so skilled that no one has been able to confirm that.

So I answer Taura. All three of them were so skillful with their weapons that they did not injure any of the villagers. On the contrary, all three of them seemed to be competing with each other in the end to see how they could wield their swords and spears with the least amount of potions.

"So what about Zahle? If possible, I'd like him to purify himself of the parasitic mushrooms as soon as possible.

Taura looks at the bound Zahle and tells him.

"Yes. It won't take long. The magic mark is not gone yet, guys."

When I see the three nodding, I take out the twin linen-horn knife I used when I made the previous contract with Sailuke, and a scroll.

I deploy the scroll and then use the knife to scrape some of the mushrooms from Zahle's face.

"Purification."

The scroll is then applied to a portion of the mushroom on the tip of the blade, and only the parasitic factors contained in the mushroom are extracted.

The rest of the mushroom melts away and flows down along the grooves carved on the knife. What is left at the tip of the blade is a black mass of magical elements.

Taking care not to drop the knife, I take out a special diluted potion from my backpack and drink it down in one gulp.

"Master Rust, no way!

"If I ever grow mushrooms, you'll have to take care of me."

I told the three of them this, and then I thrust the knives into my own two arms.
