With the advance party, we had come to the ruins of the proposed new capital.

We saw a building that had been used as a base during our previous visit, so we took a peek inside.

It seems to be usable as it is. No signs of vandalism."

I check by touching the holes in the wall, which I had easily repaired before.

"Of course. This area is protected by the wards I've reestablished. Monsters can't get in.

Reb Haruhammer puts his hands on his hips and stretches his chest out.

"Yes. I didn't ask you this, but how do you maintain such a wide range of monster repellent wards?"

I ask a question that has been on my mind for some time, but that I never got around to asking.

"Actually, I have only connected the paths of the magical elements in the above-ground part, which had been interrupted. There must be something from the primordial age deep in the underground ruins, but I haven't been able to explore that far.

Reverend Har Hammer laughs loudly.

I guess he was laughing to hide his embarrassment.

However, as an alchemist myself, I must say that connecting the path of magical elements in the age of primordial magic is the highest level of alchemy which is impossible for any alchemist.

If I were to use an analogy, it would be as difficult as translating a book with missing pages from a long time ago and making it readable without any discomfort.

As I watched with admiration, Mr. Halhammer immediately started to give instructions to Sherlur and the other alchemists of the Kagero Agency who were participating in the advance team.

"And Rust. I'm counting on you to give me a big hand with that guy.

"Yes. Shall we get on with it? We'll be exploring the underground ruins later. The center is here?

I answer Halhammer as I exit the building.

"Yes. The topography should be fine. We can move around a little later, can't we?

"We have a lot of flexibility there."

"Master Rust, we are ready for you."

While I am talking to Reb Harhamer, Sherloul comes back.

"Thank you, Sherlur. "Thank you, Sherl. You're as efficient as ever. Excellent."

"Oh, no!"

For some reason, Sherl looks down.

His ears are slightly red.

I put down my backpack and slowly take out with both hands the items that I created for this event with Mr. Halhammer. It is about the size of a small bag. I can feel its heavy weight.

"Minna! It's a real thing!"

Reverend Haruhammer says this as if he were stirring the pot. As if by his words, the members of the advance team who had been working on the project gather around.

I don't think it's that interesting. But it's easier to alert them this way.

"Watch your step, everyone. And hold on to something."

I told this to the people gathered around me, and slowly placed a huge object - a bamboo shoot - on the ground, holding it with both hands.
