"This is it, I'm sure of it. Multiple lines of magical elements are merging here.

I stop the pendulum once it is moving violently and tell both of them as I tuck it in.

Roa continues to watch the surroundings, and Taura looks interested in what I have pointed out.

We are now a short walk away from the ruins. The ground is completely bare, but there are stones lying around that look like they used to be building materials.

Perhaps there used to be a group of buildings here, similar to the ruins.

"It looks like a door. "You're going to open it, Rust?"

Taura looks where I am pointing and murmurs to me. There was a normal-sized metal door on the ground.

"We can't just leave after coming all this way, can we? We're going to have to be very careful until we can figure out why the monsters aren't here.

With that I approach the door on the ground.

I take hold of the doorknob that is growing out of the ground and turn it.

It clicks.

It seems to be unlocked.

I lift the door toward me and open it. It is quite heavy.

A square hole appears at the end of the door.

There was a ladder to go down.

The floor can be seen a little further ahead. The hole does not seem to be that deep.

"Well, I'll take this part..."

"I'll go first," Roa says, interrupting me, and then he deftly descends the ladder, spear in hand.

Then I'll go too," he said, and Taura followed him down.

I followed them down to the basement, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

The lights came on normally. There were signs that someone had recently passed through. There is no doubt that someone is here," Roa tells me as we descend.

Loa was right, the underground passage was faintly lit and led to the back of the building. The passage is wide enough for three people to pass through side by side.

Roa looked around, "There are no traps in the vicinity.

It seems that he is seeing through us.

"Hmmm..."

Taura looks thoughtful.

"Taura, what's wrong?"

"No, no. It doesn't look like much of a sorcerer's lair to me."

"Well, if you ask me, that's true."

Not so easy to find, huh?

Someone's coming! Down the aisle."

As I was leisurely talking with Taura, I heard Roa's voice warning me to be on the alert.

I quickly ready my scroll, and Taura draws her sword and readies it.

Don't move! Move and I'll roast you whole," said an older man's voice from the corner at the end of the passage.

The voice was very familiar to me.

Could it be Reb Har Hammer?

I am startled.

"Oh my God, it's Rust!"

With these words, he turned the corner and appeared, the former president of the Alchemy Association and my mentor, Haruhammer.
