"What is happening?"

Takei did not expect to see such a surprising scene in front of him. He wasn't sure how he managed to get in this situation, but Akari dragged him into this knowing that something like this would happen.

"Ahaha, sorry... I didn't think I would get out alive if it was just me."

"It's okay, I'm just confused. Can you please explain?"

"Mhm."

The scene that was unfolding in front of the two happened to be a fight that was going down between two specific people.

"Eh? I don't think Haruto would like such a color."

"Really now? I'm pretty sure as Haru's childhood friend that he would love this color. I think you're mistaken."

"You forget that I'm Haruto's childhood friend as well. His tastes have changed over the years, y'know?"

The two people that were arguing were none other than Haruto's childhood friends, Shizuku Shirakawa and Sakura Satou.

Sakura was a short statured brown-haired girl who met Haruto after he had moved neighborhoods. She typically took care of all his needs after they got home from school, which ended up effectively making her a housewife. If Shizuku was Haruto's childhood friend from ages 4-10, then Sakura was his childhood friend from ages 10-16.

She also had an unrequited crush on Haruto, but he has yet to find out.

"That's the whole story?"

"Yup."

"Isn't that a bit too cliche?"

Takei almost burst out laughing at how similar Haruto's situation was to a romance light novel story. The two childhood friends angle was a great twist on the genre, but it was still surprising to see it happen in real life.

"After I lost connection with my childhood friend, I met another girl who became my new childhood friend, and then my original childhood friend came back." That's the perfect light novel title!

Akari was out shopping with Shizuku at a yukata shop to prepare for the upcoming summer festival just like what Takei and Haruto were doing, but they bumped into Sakura while shopping. What ensued was an argument between the two childhood friends on which color and design Haruto would prefer more.

"Ladies, can we come to a compromise?" Takei asked the two feuding girls.

""No!""

"Welp, I tried. Good luck, Akari."

Takei gave up as soon as the two girls refused his proposal. He knew maidens-in-love were an extremely strong force, so there was no point in trying to stop them.

He went to observe the situation from afar by sitting down at a nearby bench, but Akari surprisingly sat down next to him without even trying to pacify the situation.

"Did you get your yukata already?" Takei asked.

"I had a feeling something like this would happen, so I already got it beforehand," Akari replied. "There's definitely no way I'm letting you have a sneak peek at my yukata~"

"Aww, please?"

"Please wait until the specified day~"

Takei had already known that Akari wouldn't let him see her yukata before the festival, but he still asked just in case.

After about another forty minutes of arguing, the girls finally tired each other out and reluctantly bought their yukatas without complaining anymore.

Once they were outside the shop, the group of four decided to go to a certain pastry shop that was down the street. Crepes were the main star of this place, which was perfect advertising to their female demographic.

"Wow, there's a lot of crepes..."

Shizuku looked amazed as she looked through the menu that consisted of several dozen flavors. There were way too many to choose from, which ended up lighting a flame in the girls.

"I think I'm going to gain some weight from eating all of this," Sakura said as she continued to order 12 different flavors.

Akari would not be left behind in this situation. "I'll have that flavor, that flavor, and that flavor!"

She ended up choosing over 13 different flavors, which left Takei speechless.

"How could you all eat so much...?"

"Don't underestimate the second stomach of girls that are reserved for sweets!"

Takei only got one strawberry crepe since he didn't particularly like super sweet treats. He was more of a mild sweet kind of guy.

After paying for his crepe, Takei took a small bite out of the pastry and immediately was happy with his decision of purchasing it. "It really is good!"

He didn't expect it to blow him out of the water, but the flavor of the crepe was just amazing. Takei was sure Akari could replicate this crepe and make it even better.

"Mmmmm! It's sooo good!" Shizuku said as she stuffed her mouth with a spoonful.

Sakura was in a similar state to Shizuku. "I just can't get enough... Time to order some more!"

In comparison, Akari was a bit milder than the other two. She was delicately eating the crepe at a fast pace that could beat many records at eating competitions.

Takei noticed that there was a little bit of creme on Akari's cheek, so he wiped it off with his finger and licked the cream off.

"W-Wha?!"

Akari immediately became flustered when Takei did such a heart throbbing act to her. Such acts were still a shock to her even if they were already a couple due to how innocent they were.

"There was some cream on your cheek?"

On the other hand, Takei's denseness didn't allow him the luxury of understanding why Akari was flustered.

"I-It's nothing... Thank you."

Akari realized that Takei was unfazed from that small act of his, which ended up helping her calm down a bit. She once again realized how strong the denseness of her boyfriend was.

"Blockhead."

"Idiot."

Sakura and Shizuku both remarked about how dense Takei was, but the person himself didn't know who they were talking about.

Who are they talking about?

Supreme Idiot Couple Meter: 77 -> 83%

Serious-san: I give it 10 more years before he's not as dense anymore

Sugar-chan: As someone once said... once dense, always dense.
