Zhao Zhan stood in front of the spring, and behind him were clusters of dazzling red.

She had almost forgotten about the wish she had made yesterday on a whim, but obviously, Zhao Zhan remembered it and had even tried his best to help her fulfill it.

He held the lantern in his hand and freed one hand to hold the other. “Let’s go to the river and release the lantern.”
His large hand was dry and warm, and Yue Jiaojiao’s small hand was held in his palm as he followed behind her to the river.
Zhao Zhan took out a lighter and lit the lantern before handing it to her. “You can put it in the water now.”
As he spoke, he waited for Yue Jiaojiao to squat down with the lantern in her hands. He quickly collected the hem of her skirt and held it in his hands to prevent it from touching the ground and getting stuck in the mud. Then, he squatted down beside her and silently accompanied her.

The lanterns drifted far away along with the current, and Yue Jiaojiao put her hands together and closed her eyes.

Zhao Zhan rubbed the tip of her nose and drew closer to her. His voice was deep and magnetic. “What about now?”
A numbing sensation shot up from her tailbone, and Yue Jiaojiao’s eyelashes fluttered in panic. Her hands subconsciously clutched the robe on Zhao Zhan’s chest tightly, and she couldn’t help but mutter his name.
Zhao Zhan lowered his head and gulped.
The bare trees in the deep forest made a rustling sound as if they were clapping for the two to kiss.
After a long time, Zhao Zhan finally separated from her reluctantly. He leaned against her forehead and breathed heavily.
“Jiaojiao…”
Yue Jiaojiao wrapped her arms around his waist and buried herself in his arms.
Zhao Zhan chuckled in a low voice, his chest was shaking. He raised his hand and stroked the woman’s back to help her breathe. He rested his chin on the top of her hat and said gently, “Let’s go back. Are you tired after being out for so long?”
