The receptionist quickly raised her hand and stood in Michelle's way as soon as she saw her walking in the lobby. "I'm so sorry to tell you that Mr. Gu is not in the company now," she explained to Michelle, lowering her head so her hair curtained her satisfied smirk.
The day Jacob returned, he forbade all of his employees from granting Michelle access into the building. The only reason the receptionist lied to Michelle was to save her from embarrassment.
Michelle felt utterly humiliated and she decided then and there to take matters into her own hands.
"Get out of my way!"
Michelle snapped and her face contorted with a venomous outburst that changed her placid eyes into living flames that roved over her figure. She pushed the unsuspecting receptionist with her all strength, sending her crashing to the floor in an instant.
Then, without even glancing back to look at the woman on the floor, Michelle strolled straight across the hall.
Michelle's fists were clenched and her eyes were blazing with fire, the lambent glow bathing her in an evil red light. They had only seen the sweeter and gentler side of her, but today, Michelle was going to show them who she really was.
One night was all it had taken to change her forever.
"Miss He!"
The receptionist called out to her from behind. In truth, Michelle's violent outburst came as a big surprise to her and she wondered what could have triggered this kind of animosity in such a gentle woman. After staggering back to her feet, she ran after Michelle and stopped her again.
"I'm sorry, but President Gu has ordered us not to allow you to enter the HT Group."
The receptionist told Michelle the truth.
Almost immediately, Michelle's face dimmed as if someone had drained the life out of her.
Michelle paused for a while, and then slowly raised her head. As Michelle stared directly into the receptionist's eyes, the resentment in her eyes was enough to send shivers down the receptionist's spine.
"Excuse me! What did you just say?"
'I'm forbidden from entering the HT Group?
No! That can't be right!
Jacob would never do that to me!' Michelle's brain was scrambling to make sense of it all.
"Miss... Miss He." The receptionist hemmed and hawed, not knowing what to say that wouldn't anger Michelle. She swallowed and stood up straight, forcing herself to calm down. She closed her eyes and then loudly repeatedly, "President Gu has ordered us not to allow you to enter HT Group."
She gathered her courage. After all, she was the receptionist of one of the biggest companies in the country. She had a direct order from Jacob forbidding Michelle from entering the company, and pleasing her boss was her only priority. Besides, Michelle was more than welcome to take up her grievances to Jacob, if an

Jacob was almost certain that Michelle would never show her face at the HT Group again after that day. Unfortunately, she proved him wrong again on the very next day.
Michelle kept coming to the HT Group every day for the next two weeks. It was almost as if she was possessed and beyond all reason. Even when Jacob wasn't at the company, she would still wait for him at the lobby and leave after 10 p.m.
Whenever she caught Jacob on his way to the office, Michelle would run over to him with a lunch box in her hand and a big smile on her face.
"Jacob, I've brought you some soy milk today. I made it myself. You..."
"Sam, contact Manager Liu of the MR Company. I want to have the meeting today."
Jacob turned around and ordered Assistant Lin, who was following him. He didn't even look at Michelle.
Instead, he just walked past her, wearing a cold, expressionless face.
Jacob couldn't even remember how many times he had seen Michelle at the door. Nevertheless, he knew what she was trying to do.
As a result, the only way to deal with Michelle was to ignore her. Sooner or later, she was bound to get tired of it.
"Jacob!"
Michelle cried out in a hurry, but she was once again stopped by the bodyguards at the door of HT group. She bit her teeth and repeatedly told herself that her efforts would not go in vain.
