Michelle felt very angry and she demanded, "Oh, are you getting bored with me now? Then just put me down now!"

Ray laughed at her seriousness and said, "Then shall I assume that you are willing to let me spend the night with you?"

Michelle suddenly realized that she had fallen into Ray's trap, but it was too late for her to do anything about it since she was already inside the car with him.

"Just wait here and be good, I'll be back with groceries."

When Ray came back, he had grocery bags dangling from both hands.

"I have no idea what you like to eat, but you'll have to eat what I can cook. I won't take no for an answer and you'll have to eat what I cook even if you don't like it." Ray winked at her flirtatiously.

"Then what was the point in asking me if you weren't going to let me choose anyway?"

asked Michelle, shaking her head at his gladsome smirk.

"I just thought to let you know in advance."

Ray stifled a laugh, but he couldn't hide the smile on his face. He started the car, turned on the radio, and drove back home.

Michelle lay down to rest on the bed, allowing Ray to imagine that they were just a normal family of three.

Not noticing the love and affection in Ray's eyes as he watched her, Michelle closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. After a while, Ray left her for the kitchen and took out the necessary ingredients for cooking.

When Michelle fluttered her eyelids open and woke up, she whipped her head around to find herself in bed.

She pulled out a blanket and wrapped herself with it before going to the kitchen where she found Ray washing the dishes and cleaning up.

"Hey... Why didn't you wake me up? Have you been waiting for a long time?"

"You looked so peaceful in your sleep that I didn't have the heart to wake you up. Don't worry, it's only been an hour. It's quite normal, given the fact that women tend to sleep more often when they are pregnant. I can heat up the dishes when you're ready to eat."

Michelle pulled up a chair and sat down at the table. The sight of Ray doing chores in the kitchen made her feel sad as it reminded her of the time when she had used to do the same thing for Jacob.

Perhaps, she did have a shot at starting fresh with Ray. Suddenly, there was a smile on Michelle's face and her heart felt warm and

t's all right, it's not your fault. I'll check with the doctors next time you want to eat some cake, but until then, will you please listen to what I have to say?"

Amy nodded her head. All the while, Emily wanted to chime in but she stopped herself just in time when she noticed the expression in Jacob's eyes.

There was no point in trying to fix the awkwardness now that Louis was here, as it would only make things worse. Taylor quickly stood up to her feet and smiled politely. "Thank you very much for having us. It's getting quite late, I should get back home with Amy."

"I'll drive you home,"

said Louis as he sprang up to his feet.

"No, thanks," replied Taylor in a cold voice.

Louis clearly didn't want to give up because he wanted to hear Amy's response. "Mom, you know I love cakes. Could you make me a strawberry cake since I can't eat any mangoes? I will give the rest of these cakes to Dylan and Beryl."

Taylor found it very difficult to refuse Amy's request.

"Fine, but I need to go to the supermarket to buy some ingredients. Can you come with me?"

"Yes!"

Louis's expression hardened and he said, "So you two don't want me to drive you?"

"Yes, Mr. Louis. We'll be fine, thank you for your concern,"

said Taylor as she held Amy's hand and walked past Louis. The coldness in her attitude angered Louis.

Had he really forgotten about what happened ten years ago? Since Louis had no recollection of what had happened such a long time ago, he had no choice but to watch as Taylor left with Amy.
