"David is right, Emily. We will get through this together. Like a family. Besides, we are all aware that you're already feeling heartbroken. So, don't blame yourself anymore," Rita added.
They sat Emily down and Jacob took her into his arms once again, patting her back to stop her from breaking down in sorrow.
He hadn't stopped Emily from apologizing to David just because he knew that if she didn't get it off her chest today, she would continue to blame herself.
